Your best bet is to keep looking at the solar forecast and in particular the KP Index which is an index of solar flare activity. If you see a KP of 5 or higher then there is a chance off capturing the Aurora in the northern sky. If I remember correctly (it was a while ago!) the KP was 6 the day we captured the sequence on the video.

Thanks for watching! The dark skies viewing area is north of Napanee, Ontario. Take County Road 41 north from the 401 for 37 kilometres and you’ll see it sign posted on the West side. It’s a small parking area so keep watching for it! Enjoy the area!
