She was using "old school" makeup techniques. It used to be that when you put on eyeliner you "smuggled" the liner to give it a softer look. The problem is that she was when that technique was used, it was for pencil eyeliner, not liquid. Liquid doesn't work the same way. I also noticed that she used blue liner on your water line. That used to be done because it was thought that the blue made the whites of your eyes look less red. (Like when you wake up and your eyeballs look like stop signs). She was doing what she probably learned a long time ago.

I always say this: NEVER LEAN YOUR CLIENT BACK! It always looks gorgeous while they're laying there but as soon as they sit up the skin shifts forward and nothing is where its supposed to be!
Also with hooded eyes you have to do it differently, don't you?
If I try to do an eyeshadow look like some people on UA-cam do I can execute it almost perfectly and it'll look great with my eyes closed, but once I open them you can barely see any eyeshadow anymore 😅

@@zombiepika3118 yeah I have hooded lids and only do makeup on the lower lid, I have a whole style for lower lid eyeshadow and liner lol. Foundation and lotion are like the only things that touch my upper lid lol.
@@zombiepika3118 you can create a crease illusion. OR you can buy eyelid tape which makes an actual crease for you.

I’m from South America (Venezuela) and being assertive i would say more make up artist do their job poorly and don’t follow hygienic protocol. I remember a girl did my prom makeup with fake knock off and I never got a service done until I move out to the states

Right, like I'm just some random person at my house and I can do so much better than all the bad makeup artists she's seen. Most people I know do their own makeup better than these makeup artists. The eyeliner to me wasn't a big surprise .in Arabic make up eyeliner is usually big and bold on both upper and lower lid because they want eyes look as big as possible. It was still not smooth enough but no yesterday uncommon . But the rest of the make was really bad .

Judy is obviously so over it by the end. I had high hopes that this was going to be better, but damn, she did you dirty with the liquid liner, cakey concealer, and muddy contour. It's so disappointing that these people charge so much and STILL provide crappy results!!

Liquid Liner is not to use under the eye unless doing a avant-garde graphic look. She even tries to smudge a dry liquid liner! You can't as it's dry! It is beyond ridiculous. Can't hold an eye brush properly or apply eyeshadow argh! All of this is bad, bad bad
Yeah, that liquid eyeliner on the bottom was horrible. Raccoon eyes are not fashionable.

Sooo, let me see if I get this right.. After exfoliating your skin with a face wipe (physical exfoliation) she decided to apply a chemical exfoliator and then just remove it and go straight to makeup? No moisturizer, no sunscreen, no nothing? I thought you mentioned she was a cosmetologist, I guess not 😂😂😂 I have a chemical exfoliator that is made in my cosmelogist lab and you have to rub it but it's just a gel and it doesn't feel like nothing on your skin just like water, however if the exfoliator she is using is glycolic acid, lactoc acid or ascorbic acid you can't just use the same percentage on everybody or it will burn your face
If you didn't tell us this was a luxury salon I would have NEVER guessed. They did a HORRIBLE job lol WOW😬😬😬🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
It’s not the worst but the eyeliner is very harsh and that’s a lot of bronzer. I think softer/neutral glam makeup suits you better. ❤
The major mistake of these makeup artists is that they are always doing your makeup with you lied down! They do not appreaciate how it looks straight :(

@@MiaMizuno jshdhsjs if you have hooded eyes, when you do the makeup by yourself, you have to look straight to the mirror because the fixed eyelid covers a little of the other eyelid and you can't know how much if you are lied down! (sorry if there is any mistake, english isn't my first language 😅)
I watched a lot of your videos, and now I truly understand how some people feel so overwhelmed going into one of these salons. They go in expecting to get makeup to improve their looks and come out looking worse. Like Judy you’re so beautiful, not a lot of makeup is needed to enhance your beauty. 🤗💕

it looks good on me since ive perfected the skill but also i wear alt makeup so it's a totally different vibe anyway hghgh in normal makeup looks, avoid liner below all together tbh

@@samblasco2359 i don’t mean to offend. I meant when the makeup look is more soft glam. Emo/punk yes, but on an every day makeup look.. no.
The sad part is that I feel like I could do a better job and I'm nowhere near being an MUA. Of course, I FEEL like I could. Doesn't mean I actually could considering I've never done makeup on another person. But, like... Sanitization? Pretty simple. Not beating the crap out of your client? Also easy. Not irritating their skin before applying makeup? Common sense. And definitely NOT poking their eyeballs with pencils(I'd probably be uncomfortable doing anything to the waterline since I never touch my own). Admitting that a look is too complicated for me? Probably the easiest thing ever.
And knowing me, I'd constantly be asking if I'm using too much pressure because I'm an anxious potato like that.

No mascara is the biggest shock. I would have toned down the eyeliner a smidge. Yeah for a luxury salon that was poo. From all these worse makeup artist, if they lay you down it’s gonna be bad.

I called it the tuna liner. .....and she pushed all the contour back into your hair then blended what was left. You have amazing self control

It's actually not a bad idea to exfoliate your client's skin before doing makeup in a non-invasive way but that still shouldn't burn lol
Should use serum, moisturizer and primer. I wonder if dermaplaning is popular in her area???
@@karakol86 that's a lot of product if you're about to put makeup on. Depending on the skin type, Judy seems to have normal/combination, you wanna clean the face, use something like a gentle scrub wipe if you see any peeling skin on your client, use moisturizer and I personally don't believe in primer, unless you're using a glowy one for specific effect
I think Judy probably had an allergic reaction to the mask and she should have told the makeup artist :p
@@juliap1714 cleanser, serum and moisturizer is minimal and basic. I didn't mention essence or toner or a double cleanse or face oil. Serum and moisturizer (also primer depending on what you need) leave the skin smooth so the foundation and other products does not look patchy or have dry spots enhanced.
@@karakol86 you certainly shouldn't use a face oil if you're about to put makeup on. We're not talking about a full skin care routine, we're talking about a skin care routine before makeup, these are different. You have to talk to your client about what their skin of course and adjust it accordingly. But no, serum and moisturizer will not make dry skin patches go away if your client has extremely dry skin. I speak from experience. But if they do have extremely dry skin then you could probably get away with your excessive moisturizing. Basic and minimal is not bad.
@@juliap1714 I didn't say basic or minimal is bad and I didn't say use face oil prior to makeup. I mentioned it because you said serum and moisturizer were too much. Moisturizer does help with dry patches. If someone has really dry skin serum and moisturizer would work fine. I speak from experience also. I don't agree with you on some of your points

As a makeup artist, everything in this video pains me. I feel so bad that they paid for this, they should have been the one paid after this mess.
I think some of these muas feel like their work MUST be noticed. They can't just go with the flow of a face. You WILL see the eyebrows I've created. You can NOT ignore the new eye shape I've drawn. You will be AMAZED at how many shadow colors I can use....

This looks a LOT like the time my Mom booked my bridal makeup session without asking me, out of a desire to "gift" it to me, and I insisted on paying for a practice session.
It was this rough, and slightly more than this level of "woah!" (My lips were also overdrawn but were a bright reddish purple and drawn on very crookedly, to the point that it looked like I had mild Bell's Palsy)
But it was much less professional...this was obviously a woman who did something else,like hair or reflexology, who also offered makeup in hopes of getting another service going.
She had me sit in a papasan chair, which felt awful, half the makeup she used smelled like melted crayons and was the cheapest brand from the local pharmacy...
...and she braced herself on either my chest or my hair, and breathed heavily down at me with a stressed out look on her face the whole time.
I paid her, thanked her, and then drove straight to my Mom's house.
I had Mom get her money back, lol.
Less is more if she had of stuck with minimum eyeliner and contour that isn’t as heavy it would have been a great look

Tbh. I’m an esthetician and she did what she was trained to do….she shouldn’t be that rough but exfoliators don’t exfoliate if they just sit on the skin..still love you girl but she only did I’m assuming what she was taught! Speak up next time girl! ❤️😇😘😍

@@jaytay8637 you can swipe on a chemical exfoliating toner before doing makeup , that’s okay. But doing a full on facial before makeup is a no-no . Pores are open and skin is left too sensitive.

it's good to get exfoliation before makeup as ur dead skin will be removed and smooth application of makeup UT you supposed to do the whole skin care not just exfoliation. let's see if they do a good job,
As someone with big eyes that liner on your lower lash,didnt look good, it was too harsh, I think for a luxury spa the m as makeup artist seems to only know one way to apply a look,and everyone gets that technique unfortunately.
