- Join Rupali, Umesh, and me on a heartfelt journey as we chase the Indian monsoon from the southern tip of Kanniyakumari all the way to the stunning valleys of Kashmir in our new series, Raining Smiles. This series is all about spreading joy, embracing diverse cultures, and cherishing the little moments that make life truly beautiful.
In today's episode, we kick off our journey in the breathtaking Kanniyakumari. Starting with an early morning stroll, I had the chance to share tea and stories with some wonderful locals. I even crossed paths with an enthusiastic group of teachers from Amritsar, who shared their incredible tales of biking from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari! Imagine that!
Our day continued with a visit to the majestic Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a place that holds a special place in my heart. I fondly remembered my father, Govind Vidyarthi, who brought me here 50 years ago when I was just 8 years old. This visit was a nostalgic journey, reminiscing about Ma and Baba and feeling the powerful energy of this sacred place.
Before leaving Kanniyakumari, we made a delightful stop in Nagercoil to enjoy a traditional vegetarian meal at Hotel Neelakandan Order Mess. The flavors of the rassam, pineapple curry, avial, and sambar rice, served on a banana leaf, brought back so many cherished memories.
So, hop on board as we explore, discover, and most importantly, spread smiles across India, one raindrop at a time. Let's make this monsoon unforgettable! 🌧️✨
