Thanks for watching everyone! You can buy this phone here howl.me/ci37loZ21lW and I also did a comparison with the A53 here: ua-cam.com/video/r7ESF7mPFEU/v-deo.html
For many of us, its not that we can't afford those "flagship" phones, its that we just don't care. Its just a phone, and the actual world around us is so amazing, no piece of tech could ever capture it in a way that truly approximates the direct experience that comes from being present in every moment :)
Exactly. I've never spent more than $200 on a phone, and usually way less. I keep them for 2+ years. IDK why people need to have the latest high dollar phones.
Agreed. Whenever I go on vacation with my family, they're always taking pictures and recording videos, while I just take it all in and just enjoy the moment. The phone will never capture nor replicate the experience of being there. I was looking to just get myself a dumb phone for basic calls and texts, but I find that I actually really need certain apps for my everyday life that I just can't get on a dumb phone. So budget smart phones are great for this reason. However, I do feel that if someone is into photography and video, they might get more value with a more expensive phone. But other than that, most of us can probably survive with budget phones.
Trying to keep an open mind with this phone. Going from an iPhone 12 Pro Max to Samsung Galaxy A14 5G. But I’m done with expensive fancy phones. It’s not that important to me anymore
Yeah in your case, I'm a little worried 😂😂. I see a lot of people go from expensive iPhone to cheaper Android. Then they eventually give up on Android without seeing how good it can be. This phone is definitely terrific for the money and handles all the basics well. I'm not having any issues with it and I come from flagship phones too. But if it's not good enough or if you feel a little discontent, don't be afraid to get a Google Pixel 6a, which is a good step up, and it's only $299 right now. You could also get the Galaxy A53 5G, another good step up, and that's around $400. But none of those are NECESSARY. You have enough phone for everything most people will need. But there are some really really good phones for $300 to $500 if using that nicer iPhones made you miss flagship phones.
Yeah, as someone who only uses cheap phones, you really want to go in steps. Like going from an iPhone 12 to a Samsung Galaxy A series is like going from a Ferrari to a 2005 Toyota. Does it work? Yeah, probably. Will it be like working through molasses in comparison? Absofuckinglutely.
It's very refreshing to listen to someone review a phone that most people would either like to own or can afford! NO smartphone should cost (or is worth) more than $700.00! If people would wise up and realize this, maybe Samsung and Apple (the 2 main culprits that immediately come to mind) would lower their price points on their higher-end phones! It's very tough with today's economy for the average consumer to shell out their hard-earned $$$ for these devices that are these days a necessary part of life!
The thing is it’s not a thousand pound paid outright as most phones are on the never never. Apple and Samsung would be absolutely screwed if credit for phones was abolished. There sales figures and business model relies entirely on credit. Like who is going to actually go into the Apple Store and pay cash for a phone that costs more than a thousand dollars? Some food for thought and thoughtful food.
I really enjoyed your review. I just up graded my A11 to the A14 5G and am very satisfied with the A14. I switched because the A11 was behaving slower and slower. I also had issues with sending pictures to email from text. Nothing worked to solve that problem. The A14 is like warp speed with none of the other problems the A11 had. I really appreciate your approach towards me as budget consumer of smart phones. I don't live on my phone so 1000 dollar phones make no sense to me. I'm a laptop guy for that. But your approach made me subscribe because you sound very down to earth and my experience on this phone agrees with the points you made. Still learning about this phone so I hope you will do a tips and tricks video of this phone. Thanks again. Great job!
Thanks so much for your comment. It means a lot! I may come back to this phone at some point for a tips and tricks video like you said. I just have so many other devices I review and talk about so I'll probably have to wait and see. I do try to review a variety of phones of higher and lower prices, but I always try to do it with budget in mind and I try to do it and consideration of people who can't afford the latest and greatest or simply people who don't want to spend $1,000 on a phone. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask and I'm really glad to have you as a subscriber
Subscribed when he said about other reviewers who are not objective about the phones they’re reviewing. We need more honest and objective reviewers like him. GJ. 👏
Thanks so much! It's okay to complain about cheaper phones. I always complain when Samsung doesn't put proxy sensors in $200 phones. That's a crucial part of a phone. But don't claim a phone is slow just because you're used to $700 phones
I appreciate your clarity about tech reviewers trying out these budget phones. I've had flagships and budget devices and I'll say for 99% of what people do on their phones budget devices handle that stuff with ease.
Exactly. Most tech reviewers use $1,000 phones all day, even I use pretty good phones, it's hard for them to put themselves in the mindset of someone who does use these phones regularly
I consider expandable memory and headphone jack to be the most exclusive and rare features for phones nowadays so this is a super premium flagship for me. so glad Im not forced to upgrade to Sony...
I am a budget phone fanatic. Having a $1,000 paperweight is overrated to me now. I've left Apple for Samsung picked up this phone and can say I'm happy I did. I don't regret my decision.
In the good news is, if you decide you don't like it after a few months you could even sell it online for a hundred bucks anyway. Most of these flagship phones lose hundreds of dollars in value within a month or two. You're getting a good phone and you're not out of much if you change your mind
It's great to always see your content Zach. I like the fact you review everything on it's own merit and don't compare the budget phones to other expensive models like a lot of people do
For sure. Appreciate the support. I was pretty shocked by this phone. I've been annoyed by Samsung lately with budget phones, mainly cutting corners by having no proxy sensor, that's been a sensor in phones for like 10 years. But this phone has one, it has nfc which I forgot to mention. And it feels really fast, like as a flagship phone user even I don't feel slowed down. So it's a good one, glad you enjoyed the review
15 watt charging is plenty fast for most of us. 30 minutes will get you to 50% from empty, or from 50% to 80%. It doesn't stress the battery as much as higher wattage charging, either. If you're anything like me, I just top off at bedtime, roll out the door with a full charge, and go about my day. I currently have an A71 5G (4500 mAh battery), which supports 25 watt charging, but I use a 15 watt charger. Actually, the phone has an intermittent charging problem, so I find myself charging with standard charging speeds (10W) more often than not. It's still fast enough for my needs.
Thank you so much. Admittedly I do use a lot of high in phones. But sometimes I use phones like this to try to put myself in this perspective. Too many reviewers, even good ones like MKBHD, they will use high in phones all the time and then they will decide one day to use one bad phone, like the Moto g play or something, and instead of comparing that phone to all the competition and all the phones around one or $200. They will just go tell you to buy a used flagship phone. Not realizing that not everyone wants a used phone. Instead of giving them practical advice and comparing it to other options, they just tell you not to buy it because it's not like the high-end phone that they have. It's pretty annoying
It used to be that budget phones were straight garbage and you needed to pay hundreds upon hundreds to get a good smartphone. I'm glad that Samsung has started changing the budget phone game, I would include Motorola there too but their phones suck on phone calls. It's nice that you no longer need to pay so much for a quality device. There aren't very many reviewers covering this phone and the previous Samsung a23 5g which you also covered. Thanks for doing what the big tech channels won't, like you said, they are tech snobs that don't care about cheaper phones. Not everyone can afford the latest $1000 iPhone or Galaxy phones.
Absolutely. To be honest, I've been using this phone after this review and I'm pretty blown away. Like this is fast enough for me. At $200. I use the expensive phones, so I'm amazed that I'm not feeling slowed down by this. Two years ago even the A51 felt slow in some ways. This feels pretty smooth all around. It also has nfc which I forgot to mention. Really really good for $200. Outside of a meh camera this is a strong recommended for people who need a cheap phone
@@AndroidDigest Right now I have a Motorola Edge 2022 and while I love a lot about it, the call quality is lacking. So I'm looking at either a new a23 5g or an Amazon renewed s21 Fe. How is the call quality on the a23? Is it actually good for a single firing speaker? The only thing holding back the Samsung budget phones are a single bottom firing speaker and lack of AMOLED displays. I do think Samsung will eventually put that on even their budget lineup phones to beat the competition. To me, call quality is a huge deal and I've gotten rid of phones because of that. Btw, thanks for replying 👍. Some tech reviewers say they'll respond in the comments but never do. You seem to appreciate your subscribers which is why I subscribed about a month or so ago and you actually engage with us in the comments section. So I appreciate your appreciation 😁. Keep up the great work my friend!
@@DWtechfanthanks for this. I don't get notified about second comments so harder to engage again. To be honest though with your call quality question it's hard to say. It sounds great to me. But I haven't had any issues on call quality with pretty much any phone that I can remember. So i may not be as picky as you with that aspect. But I think it sounds just fine
@@AndroidDigest yeah UA-cam notifications are spotty even as a user so I bet running a channel is worse. But I appreciate your engaging in conversation 👍. I ended up getting an Amazon renewed s21 FE. I love the budget Samsung devices but they don't have everything I'm looking for. This s21 FE has been great in all aspects except battery life. It averages 3-5 hours on screen time which is decent enough but not stellar. Samsung is getting really good though with their budget devices and I was really tempted to get a new a23 over this renewed s21 FE. But with the a23 not having dual speakers was the biggest reason I decided against it.
Thanks. I just picked up this phone yesterday to replace my Galaxy J7 Prime. All I needed is budget functional phone (newer) and this meets my needs. Phone, camera, text a couple apps to chat. This is perfect.
It's basically the same with all brands... If you want the top features you gotta pay alot... If you get mid grade or budget phones, there are compromises in the good features. Different companies make different downgrades... Depends on what you like on your phone and how much you want to spend.
I wish I had seen phones like these back when I was on android a couple years ago, $200 on the US market a good 2-4 years back would get you absolutely trash specs. I am glad more and more phones like these are appearing in the market.
I completely agree with you when you said how other tech channels review budget smartphones and compare them to flagship phones which they are used to. For example when they make videos with titles such "Samsung Galaxy A14 vs the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra". Like how can you compare those two devices with each other? You gained a sub from me!! Gonna get me that A14 baby!!
Hope you enjoy it! I try to cover devices all over the spectrum, doing a lot of galaxy tab stuff recently, but I'll cover stuff from all over the spectrum, and I'll try to cover some mid-range and budget stuff too!
We bought one for our son. We were so impressed that we upgraded a Galaxy S6 Edge and a Google Pixel 5 with this phone and WOW were we impressed as it outperforms BOTH by a long shot. It is plenty fast, gets excellent reception, and works just fine. Best phones that we have had so far. If you just need a good phone for basic stuff, I recommend it.

Haha. I'm actually getting the A53 5G in tomorrow. Going to do a comparison with this phone. I do expect that A53 to be faster but I know that the A14 is actually pretty quick for the money too
@@AndroidDigest android 13 made the a53 run a bit worse unfortunately, turning off ram plus helps but imo the a14 5g runs smoother on android 13 than the a53.
That's just hard to do honestly. Maybe I could do speed tests in one spot and keep track of different scores. But overall I just try to keep an eye out on how it's holding signal compared to other phones, and I mention it if it is noticeable
I like your reviews because you're honest, and you actually factor in prices in what you say in your reviews, as you said here. I've seen other reviewers review budget phones and lament in a sad voice "The screen sadly is not as good as the iPhone 14".
My first smartphone was a Samsung Galaxy S6 in 2015. It was at the time THE Android flagship. It was so good, I kept it 5 years. In 2020, I switched to Samsung S10e. Another fantastic premium phone. Certainly not a mid-category phone. I kept it 3 years. Over the last few months, I bought a Galaxy A12 for a friend on low budget. It was his first phone, and he is an elderly. He didn't need much. He still has it, and is satisfied. I would not be satisfied with the A12. Slow, screen quality not great, photos meh... Last year, I bought a A13 as a gift for my mother in law. I also bought one for myself. I wanted a second phone, without a Sim card, with longer battery time, and a bigger screen, to chill in bed watching stuff. The A13 felt better than the A12, but still meh to me. Slow CPU, 720p with low dpi. I feel like the A13 is still insufficient to me. The image quality is lacking. The S10e coming to its death (support end), I sold it, and figured I need something better than the A13 (remember, my 2nd phone). So.... I bought the A14 5g. I'm done paying 1000$ CAN for phones. So, here is what I think about this 330$ CAN phone. WOW!!! 1080p with 400ish dpi!! NICE!! The picture is very good! CPU is MUCH FASTER than the A13's CPU. Feels super adequate. Remember, I'm used to flagships! Camera. 50Mp WITH image stabilisation!! Awesome. Photos are great! Headphone jack. It was necessary for me. S6 had it. S10e had it. No way I was going to pass that. It has NFC. Good. My A13 didn't. I put a 128Mb Micro-SD card in it. So, I have 64 Gb for apps and 128Gb for media. I transfered with smartswitch all my stuff from the S10e (128Gb). I have more space remaining on the budget phone than on my high-end S10e. It feel better with 64+128 than 128. Super happy. Speaker sucks on the A14 5G. It's worse than on the A13, and S10e had top stereo speakers. It does not matter anyway. I have a Beatspill, a baby JBL bluethoot speakers, and the headphone jack. Really, the sucky speaker is of small consequence for me. I am totally satisfied with the A14 5g. For what I paid, it's awesome. 😊
just got one for free from my new phone contract. using an iphone 6 right now. hopefully this will be an improvement. the iphone has been amazing though and still working fine. will get it tuesday and report back my findings
T-Mobile is running a special at my Walmart for $55 and it works great. All the apps from my old phone are on this one with the transfer. I'm very happy with it.
Love our new A14,s. Paid 199/per, but actual monthly cost through U.S.Cellular was about $1,500. less over 3 years than the same phones at $40. Each through Walmart. You really need to do the math!
For all the features and Samsung being a reliable brand i have had this phone since launch and it's great. Expectations within this price point and i feel the value is very high. I just can't afford the expensive phones or tablets, but glad options are out there like this one. I also own a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 and love it just as well.
Thanks for the review. I wish they would make a phone like this. The same size as the s10e. I would buy it in a heartbeat. All the budget phones are the same thing. They're 6.7 in phones. Nobody makes any. I want to say small phones but at one point 5.8 was a large run. Anyway, that's my problem I guess
I completely agree!!!! If there was something like the Galaxy A53 even in a 6.1" size I wouldn't look back. I really want more budget phones and mid range phones that are smaller. But it's easier to fit the components in a larger frame, so that's what they do, probably to cut costs, they use a similar body in multiple phones too
just bought this yesterday, I have the Dimensity 700 variant and I can say the performance is decent, no over heating issues. camera is good, I'm surprised that this phone takes good photos, well not as good as my a52s 5g but decent enough but the best is it's battery life, my current screen on time is already at 4hrs but i still have 53% battery left, I recon this can last you around 7 or 8hrs sot. definitely would last you a day without worries cons: they give you usb C to C cable but no charger on the box (no charger is fine, but since the included cable is C to C you would need to buy a charger instead of using your old ones) another is the design, the phone is too slippery, the texture on it's back doesn't help, it's too slippery and too thick for a phone in 2023 but not a deal breaker for me
Great thoughts and I'm completely with you. I think most people will probably just pick up a case which will help with the back. Other than that though I really do enjoy this phone. Even though I'm done reviewing it I'm not rushing to trade it out right now.
It's definitely bigger than the a13 5g unfortunately which had a nicer feel in the hand. maybe it was a cheaper way for samsung to put in a 1080p screen not sure.
i still have a galaxy j1 ace from 2015 and do everything i need from a phone!but since my internet provider has a good promotion on this a 14 i will get it for 90 euro,im sure i will note a good diference ! thanks for the video!
Great review! This is how reviews should be, I love how you are not biased because thats what I hated with any other tech youtuber cause they kept saying that the phone is disappointing
Yeah of course it's disappointing, it's going to be disappointing to anyone that uses $1,000 phones all day. But honestly this is the best $200 phone I've seen come out ever. And what's crazy about it is that it will go on sale even more at a lot of prepaid carriers. I've never seen a phone at $200 with a 90 Hertz screen and a decent resolution That's 1080p with a headphone jack and an SD card slot and a good processor.. this phone is really good for the money. I know it doesn't have knox like you said. But honestly, I didn't notice a significant difference personally. As long as you're not doing stuff super crazy with your phone, I wouldn't worry about it
My current phone. I live in New Zealand, bought mine for $330 NZ dollars. It's an excellent phone for the price and functions perfectly. Just had latest update to android 14 and UI 6.1 makes it even better. Has another update to come as well. A great purchase.
Had my A14 5G a little over a month and I'm very happy with everything good performance and decent cameras I can't complain watching HBO Max and Disney Plus with no hick ups... I recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for a Decent Samsung 🙂 again I'm very pleased with this purchase bro keep up the positive videos and I know they're are other androids that should get more attention like the moto g power 5g 2023
I used to be the guy that had to have the latest Samsung Note phone. Now that I'm older, I only buy the A series! All I need now is something simple and cheap.
This is a great option for that. I used to be frustrated with some older a series phones that would have minor issues, but this phone seems to be pretty good overall and I don't have any major complaints which is great
Im getting this one today Im ditching my garbage LG Stylo 6 terrible phone glad its for this review you gave perfect budget and good performance and reviews one question hows the audio? Quality?
This is a great smartphone for a beginner (senior) like me. I picked one up for € 95 (about US$ 100) completely new but box was damaged. If you don't watch YT videos or play games on it it will easily last you 2 days or more. Great video, thanks!
Nice review .... I'm trying to decide between this and the new Moto G Play and since they are both similarly priced I think I'm going to try the Samsung ..... All my cell's to date have been Motorola and they have all worked great so I think it's time I switch it up a little ...... Time will tell.
I have one. It rates a solid B to B+ across the board, except on charging. It's camera performance and overall function makes the owners of the "best" phones ask if the $1000 price difference is worth it. But, it's a slow charger- just charge it overnight and put the $1000 in the bank.
i have Iphone14 and bought this Galaxy A14 5g few days ago and almost cant find the difference in terms of daily tasks and loading speed even gaming ... not even jk this device is super fast for its budget
Honestly using this phone is not bad at all, I bought it super cheap from a friend, it was unlocked which is a good thing as it can be used for a lot of carriers, I wasn't expecting much being that my main phone was a iPhone 13 pro max but I'm surprised at how well it handles everyday tasks, it does everything my Iphone can do, granted the Cameras are not as professional, but they are not bad either, battery life has been great, it hasn't glitched or froze up on me like I was expecting it to, not a bad phone at all for the price it's being sold for. The best thing in my opinion is it has expandable memory via Micro SD card unlike an iPhone, my only gripe is it charges pretty slow but that's my only complaint.
Thanks for the review. I'm thinking about getting this for my mom. I was also looking at the Pixel 6a which is £349 where I live. The A14 is only £179 though. Almost half the price of the 6a. It seems really good value for money especially for someone who doesn't need all the bells and whistles.
You are dead on. The Pixel 6a will be slightly faster with slightly better cameras. But the A14 has better battery life and some perks like a headphone jack. And of course half the price.
Just bought this phone today...learning new things about it. So far, I'm happy...Replaced a Galaxy J7, so this is a major upgrade for me...and the price was right. I refuse to pay the cost of an I-Phone..
I like your honesty on this phone . Tell it like it is !" People who bye's expensive phone's don't like mid range phone's. I'm looking for a good mid range phone . With lots of storage . And along like with lots of up grade along the way . I enjoyed watching your video . Have a good weekend !" Gene ,
I have been using nothing but flagship phones for many years now. Currently using a Galaxy Fold but I think I will add the A15 as my second line. Great review of the A14 brother. We need more honest people doing this. Thank you.
I'm a new subscriber! when you started talking about folks used to expensive phones and complain about budget phones. I feel that! I've never spent more than $279.99.
Exactly. I do cover a lot of higher end phones, but even then I'm trying to cover phones that have gone on sale, or phones that you can find cheap used. But even when I cover very high end stuff, I try to not let it affect how I review. Too many people do. They don't have the mindset of a customer who doesn't have $1,000 to spend
@@AndroidDigest I know regular folks appreciate your channel. I went out and bought the Pixel 6a because of your review and I've watched many others. I'm really enjoying this phone. It makes me not miss my Pixel 3a. Thanks!
Appreciate this video bro. After seeing your post on Twitter I decided to grab because this fits my budget and I was able to get it for $140 at boost mobile 🔥 and so far so good 👍
I'm still using it today even after my review and I'm not bummed out that it's too slow. I use flagship phones regularly and I'm pretty impressed with how good this is for the money. The camera is meh. No water resistance and slow charging. But all that is typical at this price. And pretty much everything else is great
For the money you can’t beat it! My mom and BF each have one and love them. Granted they aren’t gamers or pro photographers, so it’s perfect for them ❤
This review was definitely written for me as I am looking for a decent budget phone that preferably has an SD card slot and headphone jack. This one has got it and much more. I'm not comparing this phone to a premium phone which I don't want. I suspect from seeing this review, the A14 5G will be a huge upgrade over my long outdated Samsung Galaxy S5 Active!
Yeah, it's a pretty big upgrade, hope you enjoy it! The S5 Active was a flagship, so some things won't be a huge upgrade, but I think you will still see it's a good upgrade for you
@@AndroidDigest Only had the phone for a few days and so far its been great. The limitations of it being a budget phone have not bothered me. The battery life is incredible and that is a huge positive for me.
I will for sure. Just reviewed the FE tablets that most high end reviewers won't touch. I'll review the A series tablets too when they are out in the US. And I'll keep reviewing the a series phones and other mid rangers.
I just ordered my A14 for a $119.00 with my pre paid carrier. I have used a Samsung A10e for exactly 4 years on Aug 1st 2023. They stopped software updates over a year ago. It still works fine. Looking forward too my new A14
Am i the only one who thinks samsung should stop rolling random numbers when picking a new name for the A series? There's like A01 then it jumps to A71 and then A14 and then A53 its just all confusing
Nice video! I just got one of these myself about a week ago. I've been using totally low-budget phones for a while, ya know, the kind of things you get for free if you have the "lifeline" phones in the US (aka "Obamaphones"...which btw is a stupid name, because Obama really didn't have anything to do with the program lol), so this is a major step up for me definitely. Really, the only complaint about it have so far is that like you said the single speaker isn't too great. But then again, if I'm really gonna do some serious listening on it, I'll plug in a decent pair of headphones. Also, tho, it's the first 5g phone I've ever had, and dang, I'm loving that speed lol
Just buy A34 today. I was aiming for Android 13... I didn't think about it but clerk connect to wifi and possibly it auto update. to kernel binary 8. And the way samsung binary work, I cannot downgrade it even if I flash it. Just a warning for peep who think they want to buy old phone to avoid android 14. I manually check and there is indeed option to disable from wifi. Galaxy A14 have no promise of update and is safer bet if you want to run older app.
I had a galaxy A42 and i loved it. To me it was one of the best samsung phones. I had to downgrade to a A 03. Its not bad justonly 32 gb of memory versus my 42 which had 64 i think. My phone did charge quickly but slowed down. Getting upgrade might get this oneor the 54. Don't need a fancy one.
Just got my today and set it up. Replacing my a51 that has slowed down. I like the display on the a14 5g better than the a51. For a budget phone the a 14 5g is a beast.
@Guillaume Rioux normally yes. The colors on the a14 5g are truer to life and more bold. I still like the a14 5g display better. Maybe just my opinion.
@@andrewwarner7580 it's possible , last years i try A13 5G no lag caméra good for price but 700x1600 screen was bad so i sell it , i prefer my S20 plus 5g , but the A14 5G look good on paper but i dislike body screen ratio
Yeah I'd agree with you there, it definitely has advantages. I live in the US though and many of those models from Oppo or Realme, they aren't available here.
I just purchased the A14, coming from a J7. Thank you for your review. I too think it's a good phone, especially for the price. I do have a question and i can't find an answer yet online...is there a way to delete single text msgs? All i see is to delete a whole conversation. TIA
You have to go inside the text thread and hold your finger down on that one text. It should select it after a few seconds. Then press the trash button. Hopefully you are using the Google messages app and not some Verizon messages or some other carrier texting app.
@@AndroidDigest I feel like an idiot. I had tried your recommendation before and all that popped up was emojis. But all the way at the top of the screen is a trash can, way up there lol. Thank you very much for responding!
Watched your video and went and bought the phone. It works great. Phone is fast enough for me. Plays youtube fine. Reddit and Spotify. Thats all i plan on using this phone for and im blown away. $200!!!
Just bought this for $89 on QVC. Came with 1500 texts, 1500 data, 1500 minutes and 365 days of service. This A14 5G has way more features than I need or will ever use. Great value for me. At the moment, I am looking for a more thorough review for recording videos. I am going bonkers. I take a 16:9 video and after downloading it to Filmora, it doesn't fill the space. It is too short. One time, the video was upside down, and I film them the exact same way each time using an overhead stand. I have been recording videos on a SG for 2 years. No idea what I might be doing wrong. Thanks for the great info though. On with my search....
Recently got this phone off HSN for $99. It's Tracfone who I've been using for years. Came bundled with 1500 minutes, texts and data. Great phone. Why pay more ???
I'm using Google Pixel 6a which I bought four days ago and so far love the device. There is few things that stood out to me when I picked the Pixel 6a over the Galaxy A14 I was looking at. The Pixel 6a has two speakers one by the type C port and the other speak is the earpiece when playing media. The speakers on the Pixel 6a is on the loud side unless you are in a noisy environment. There is the fact the Pixel 6a takes some nice pictures that gives higher priced smartphones a run for their money. Plus the fact the CPU on the Pixel 6a is 400MHz faster than the Galaxy A14. This last one might not be useful to most people but it's there for those does find it useful. The Pixel 6a supports both Nano-SIM and eSIM.
Just bought one, first thing I did as usual was buy a silicone case and screen protector for it so I don't break it. So really it's no different to look at and touch as an expensive phone in a silicone case with a screen protector. Seems no different to all the expensive phones, iPhone13/14 etc loads of people I know have, does everything I need it to do really well.
great review kind sir! it was very informative and well put in the context of someone who knows & appreciates budget phone capacity & performance! may I ask if that racing game you've show was Mario Kart for Android? or is it another game? keep up the great work and pls keep those budget & midrange reviews coming!
Technically you can in the settings, in the about section, but you may have figured that out already. This doesn't have any active styluses that work for it. You need to look up "capacitive stylus" on amazon. The stylus will work similar to your finger, it won't have palm rejection, in other words, some phones allow palm rejection rejecting your touch from your fingers, so you can only use the pen without accidentally hitting it with your thumb. You don't get those extra stylus features on this phone, so any pens work just like your fingers do. Hope this helps.
Nice Video man, great Job, I have a question about that phone. When I plug it in my PC I clic on link and there is nothing no file, now how do I get my vidéo/picture back Thank you
When you plug into your computer you have to unlock your phone, then you pull down your notifications and one of them will say usb charging, click on it and you can change it to "transfer files". And then it will allow you to transfer stuff to your pc. DCIM is a folder on your phone that has almost all of your photos and videos. You can just drag and drop to your computer. Hope this helps.
I recommend a Galaxy A33 5G over this one, Why? Because the A33 has IP67, Super Amoled 90Hz FHD screen, 4K both rear and front camera, Stereo speakers and an under screen fingerprint scanner!
My biggest negative with that phone is the virtual proximity sensor. The performance will be nearly identical as well, that phone has exynos which isn't always the best. But yes, the water resistance is a big deal and getting an amoled screen is a big deal too
Thanks for watching everyone!
So true. Some people care about technology way too much
Exactly. I've never spent more than $200 on a phone, and usually way less. I keep them for 2+ years. IDK why people need to have the latest high dollar phones.
A Vedantic commentary :)
Exactly,
Good thing because by comparison this phone is going to be a piece of dog shit compared to an iPhone 12.
@Des Kraemer Iphone is not like a Ferrari lol. It's like a boring new Mercedes and Samsung A 14 is like a 15 year old Vios.
what is the point of downgrading?
It's very refreshing to listen to someone review a phone that most people would either like to own or can afford! NO smartphone should cost (or is worth) more than $700.00! If people would wise up and realize this, maybe Samsung and Apple (the 2 main culprits that immediately come to mind) would lower their price points on their higher-end phones! It's very tough with today's economy for the average consumer to shell out their hard-earned $$$ for these devices that are these days a necessary part of life!
I completely agree. And there are a lot of good phones that are on the lower end as well. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts
@@oscarleejames4874 Agree 100%!
That's why there many different price points out there for different people.. every price point has it's focus market/group...and sales
@@AndroidDigest I don't care about all the techs and specs on a cell phone all I care for if it makes me my phone calls
Great to see budget 5G devices from Motorola and Samsung getting better. The Galaxy A line has another solid option for everyday consumers.
True
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask and I'm really glad to have you as a subscriber
this is my current phone and i LOVE it. i cant believe how good it is. in canada i paid 330 dollars for mine and i couldn't be happier.
Glad to hear it! That's a good price for a phone
My current phone to and I love it. I live in rural New Zealand and it works great. I paid $330 NZ dollars.
I consider expandable memory and headphone jack to be the most exclusive and rare features for phones nowadays so this is a super premium flagship for me. so glad Im not forced to upgrade to Sony...
apps like whatsapp dont use freespace from sdcards
I am a budget phone fanatic. Having a $1,000 paperweight is overrated to me now. I've left Apple for Samsung picked up this phone and can say I'm happy I did. I don't regret my decision.
In the good news is, if you decide you don't like it after a few months you could even sell it online for a hundred bucks anyway. Most of these flagship phones lose hundreds of dollars in value within a month or two. You're getting a good phone and you're not out of much if you change your mind
Thanks!
Just got this phone and I'm very pleased with it so far! 😊
It's pretty good! Thanks for sharing your experience!
I prefer a plastic back, especially with a mate finish.
It is less prone to break, lighter, less finger print magnet than a shinny glass back.
Yeah a plastic back is easier to keep in better shape
Your point on tech reviewers bashing this phone is 100% true. TheVerge, I'm looking at your iPhone Gods.
Thank you for how commenting on how other reviewers review budget phones when their
Use to reviewing hi-end phones
Your honesty is refreshing.
Enjoy it! It's functional, that's the important thing
Exactly. This is much better for $200. Terrific
Just bought one - my first smartphone at 61 years old.
This thing is freakin' amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fiance has this phone and it runs smoother than my a53 lol, for $200 the a14 5g is a very good value.
@@PJ-gm1hb honestly I can agree in some aspects. Having both here now. I can see what you mean
My husband has the a53 and I wanted that phone as well but decided to go with the a14 instead. I'm happy with my choice! 😊
You gave a true, unbiased review; better than all others 😊
Glad you liked it!
Great review. Id like to see more reviewers incorporate some basic signal/reception based tests as to me this is the most important feature.
Exactly 🤣🤣... Like .. uhhh.. what? You have to factor in the market, prices on other devices around it, and the target audience and what they want.
Thanks for the kind words
Love this reply/review!! Thank you!!! Thank you 🙏
Great thoughts. Thanks for sharing with everyone. Glad to get more perspectives out there
Not only can I not afford a $1,000 phone, I would not spend that much money for a phone when I don't have to.
Yeah and I can see why. There are more important things in life
just got one for free from my new phone contract.
using an iphone 6 right now. hopefully this will be an improvement. the iphone has been amazing though and still working fine.
will get it tuesday and report back my findings
T-Mobile is running a special at my Walmart for $55 and it works great. All the apps from my old phone are on this one with the transfer. I'm very happy with it.
Pretty good for $55, a crazy deal
Love our new A14,s. Paid 199/per, but actual monthly cost through U.S.Cellular was about $1,500. less over 3 years than the same phones at $40. Each through Walmart. You really need to do the math!
The best explanation I've heard so far! Well done !!! Continue with more devices and we will continue to follow ,Thank you
Thanks! Glad you liked the review
Just bought one and it is amazing value, highly recommended.
Definitely is a great value
For all the features and Samsung being a reliable brand i have had this phone since launch and it's great. Expectations within this price point and i feel the value is very high. I just can't afford the expensive phones or tablets, but glad options are out there like this one. I also own a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 and love it just as well.
Nothing wrong with the budget line. As long as your expectations are reasonable
But it's easier to fit the components in a larger frame, so that's what they do, probably to cut costs, they use a similar body in multiple phones too
Moto Neo 30 is a beautiful little phone. 6 " screen..
This was so helpful - thank you.
Very glad it was helpful to you!
just bought this yesterday, I have the Dimensity 700 variant and I can say the performance is decent, no over heating issues.
camera is good, I'm surprised that this phone takes good photos, well not as good as my a52s 5g but decent enough
but the best is it's battery life, my current screen on time is already at 4hrs but i still have 53% battery left, I recon this can last you around 7 or 8hrs sot.
definitely would last you a day without worries
cons: they give you usb C to C cable but no charger on the box (no charger is fine, but since the included cable is C to C you would need to buy a charger instead of using your old ones)
another is the design, the phone is too slippery, the texture on it's back doesn't help, it's too slippery and too thick for a phone in 2023 but not a deal breaker for me
Great thoughts and I'm completely with you.
Oh this is a great upgrade!
J1 ace? You really dont care about phones

I think that's a really good choice.
I have one. It rates a solid B to B+ across the board, except on charging. It's camera performance and overall function makes the owners of the "best" phones ask if the $1000 price difference is worth it. But, it's a slow charger- just charge it overnight and put the $1000 in the bank.
I agree, thanks for the comment!
i have Iphone14 and bought this Galaxy A14 5g few days ago and almost cant find the difference in terms of daily tasks and loading speed even gaming ... not even jk this device is super fast for its budget
I agree. Great for the money.
Yeah, charges slow, camera isn't the best, but it's really good overall for the price, love the good value here.
Yeah this is way better than the J7
I like your honesty on this phone .
Tell it like it is !"
People who bye's expensive phone's don't like mid range phone's.
I'm looking for a good mid range phone . With lots of storage .
And along like with lots of up grade along the way .
I enjoyed watching your video .
Have a good weekend !"
Gene ,
Thanks so much! Appreciate you Gene
thannks for the review just bought this phone i think it will do the trick
Hopefully you enjoy it
I have been using nothing but flagship phones for many years now. Currently using a Galaxy Fold but I think I will add the A15 as my second line. Great review of the A14 brother. We need more honest people doing this. Thank you.
Thank you so much, this means a lot!
Thanks!
Really cool to hear, seriously. Thanks!
@@AndroidDigest you're welcome
I got four phones already, budget lg, 2 Samsungs, plus a pixel but since it was free since I'm switching over to metro, why not lol.
It's a pretty good phone for that price I guess
Appreciate this video bro. After seeing your post on Twitter I decided to grab because this fits my budget and I was able to get it for $140 at boost mobile 🔥 and so far so good 👍
I'm still using it today even after my review and I'm not bummed out that it's too slow. I use flagship phones regularly and I'm pretty impressed with how good this is for the money. The camera is meh. No water resistance and slow charging. But all that is typical at this price. And pretty much everything else is great
For the money you can’t beat it! My mom and BF each have one and love them. Granted they aren’t gamers or pro photographers, so it’s perfect for them ❤
Glad you found a good phone that works for them. Great to hear
You'll love it..👍
Yeah, it's a pretty big upgrade, hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for a great review! Please continue these for the average people who just need a good phone.
Looking forward too my new A14
That's a great deal!
Love the honesty about the budget phones. Thanks for saying it.
Absolutely, thanks for checking out the channel and the video!
Thank you for an excellent review!! Informative and so helpful. You have a great attitude, too!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the kind comment too. Leave questions any time
Yes! Thank you! I just bought one through my Xfinity service and was nervous. Not anymore though :) I'm stoked!
Yeah it's pretty good for the money as long as you have reasonable expectations
I was able to hear you very clearly
Glad it's working good for you
Am i the only one who thinks samsung should stop rolling random numbers when picking a new name for the A series? There's like A01 then it jumps to A71 and then A14 and then A53 its just all confusing
I agree with you. It's just hard because they've already established a system. A12, a13, a14. And a23, a24, a25, rub
Thanks for this review.
I'm upgrading from by beat up flip-phone from 2007 and cannot afford a $1000 phone.
Hopefully you enjoy this!
Glad you're enjoying it
My main phone i s22 ultra..and my second is this one A14 & this phone rocks...👍
It's a good backup phone for sure. I'm glad that you can still enjoy it even coming from an S22
Great video! Thanks!
Glad to help!
Good thoughts
When you get a phone case you won't notice the plastic back. I am content with mine although I do miss my S10.
Yeah plastic backs aren't a big deal.
People worry so much about the durability or looks of their back frame when they put a case on anyway covering it
I had a galaxy A42 and i loved it. To me it was one of the best samsung phones. I had to downgrade to a A 03. Its not bad justonly 32 gb of memory versus my 42 which had 64 i think. My phone did charge quickly but slowed down. Getting upgrade might get this oneor the 54. Don't need a fancy one.
The A54 or the A14 should be good fits for you. Either one will be great
Very good review as always.
For sure! Glad to help
Just got my today and set it up. Replacing my a51 that has slowed down. I like the display on the a14 5g better than the a51. For a budget phone the a 14 5g is a beast.
Right. It's crazy good for the price.
@@AndroidDigest Im glad that there are budget phones in the phone game. I don't always want a flagship device.
A51 is FHD Amoled... A14 5g is FHD IPS... A51 suppose to ber better by far
I'd like to see more reviews on the realme 10s. It's priced around the same and has some solid advantages over the A14 5g
Yeah I'd agree with you there, it definitely has advantages. I live in the US though and many of those models from Oppo or Realme, they aren't available here.
YOU'RE RIGHT ON EVERYTHING YOU SAID IN THIS VIDEO.
Thanks so much!
Can this phone transmit stereo music via bluetooth?
Watched your video and went and bought the phone. It works great. Phone is fast enough for me. Plays youtube fine. Reddit and Spotify. Thats all i plan on using this phone for and im blown away. $200!!!
Definitely, pretty great for $200.
That's a great price for sure.
Recently got this phone off HSN for $99. It's Tracfone who I've been using for years. Came bundled with 1500 minutes, texts and data. Great phone. Why pay more ???
I hear you, save some money!
Nice! Thank you. You answered a lot of questions my wife and I had.
Awesome, glad to help
I think you made a good choice overall. I hope you still enjoy it
Just bought one, first thing I did as usual was buy a silicone case and screen protector for it so I don't break it. So really it's no different to look at and touch as an expensive phone in a silicone case with a screen protector. Seems no different to all the expensive phones, iPhone13/14 etc loads of people I know have, does everything I need it to do really well.
Yeah it does most of the basics, glad you protected it just in case.
great review kind sir! it was very informative and well put in the context of someone who knows & appreciates budget phone capacity & performance! may I ask if that racing game you've show was Mario Kart for Android? or is it another game? keep up the great work and pls keep those budget & midrange reviews coming!
Mario kart for Android. And thanks again for the comments
😮😂😊 good messages for those shows off people out!! Thanks , I am loving mine❤
Glad you're enjoying it!
you are honest and that i like.
The facts that it is 1080p and 90hz refresh rate makes it a winner
Exactly. Great phone for this price
And 5G
Not impressed with the colour on the Home page though even with changing it ,doesn’t stay?
Great Review! I just purchase this phone and it's awesome!
CAN YOU NACCESS THE SIM CARD INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM AND WHERE CAN YOU GET THE CORRECT STYLES PEN FOR THIS PHONE?
Technically you can in the settings, in the about section, but you may have figured that out already. This doesn't have any active styluses that work for it. You need to look up "capacitive stylus" on amazon. The stylus will work similar to your finger, it won't have palm rejection, in other words, some phones allow palm rejection rejecting your touch from your fingers, so you can only use the pen without accidentally hitting it with your thumb. You don't get those extra stylus features on this phone, so any pens work just like your fingers do. Hope this helps.
very good review, watching from the UK
Thanks!
