LEDs blink at a rate that is indiscernable to the naked eye due somewhat to persistence of vision. But since camera's have fixed frame rates it might capture the LED when it is off or on since the frame rate and LED frequency are not in sync.
Thats your preference. Panamera is a car thats built on a great platform first of all and has the nicest interiors as well as refinement. Panamera is practical as well. You can carry 4 large adults in comfort/luxury but your driving a car that is well capable of most sport cars that are way smaller in its class that don't offer as much.
What a coincidence, this M5 is exactly the color I'd want, inside and out, if i were to buy one myself. It may be about 95k, but it's probably one of the best cars you can buy for 95k.
I agree....I have a E38 M sport and it's something about the normally aspirated power of the E39 M5. The pure essential hardcore saloons that no matter how the M5 continues to evolve, it will never be what it use to be....RAW, PURE, and CLASSIC!! I like the new one, but it's way too much tech stuff going on....hail to the normally aspirated BEEMERS and M cars of yester year!!!
Most A/T get better MPG ratings now. And not just the advanced DCT ones either. The simple A/T in a Subaru BRZ gets better MPG than the M/T counterpart.
Brian, how gimmicky do you think those night vision things are? I mean you already can't see very well out your windshield if you have to use your night vision. And now they make you take your sight off the road to look at the screen?
I understand where you're coming from I am also a huge BMW fan... the V10 was great.. but in the end, BMW had to re-do it from the ground up because of emission standards and such. I love the E60/E63 V10's, but I wouldn't own one personally. Drank oil like mad, (all M cars do), the gas tank was too small, the fuel consumption was bad as well. In the words of toyota, "you have to keep moving forward" lol
Yeah but bmws usually have a custom holder for the iPhone if you see Cooley's other bimmer videos like the 3-series so even with the adapter it still wouldn't fit unfortunately. :/
A little surprised he didn't even mention the "synthetic engine sound" thing that some people have criticized the M5 for, but a great review nevertheless.
4.2 seconds to 60 is bmw's official press release specification. However, manufacturers often underrate a vehicle's performance figures. The F10 M5, bone stock, has been known to achieve 60mph in as low as 3.7 seconds.
agree ".. in a car with a loud exhaust" yup, so loud and muted they have to fake it through the in-car speakers. didn't have to do that with the V10 did you BMW?
I dont like how the nose of the new BMW's sticks out nowadays, on the older models it used to have a slight lean back or straight. a bit dissapointed , but still
Everytime Mr. Cooley spoke, the audio track would emit a high frequency. This doesn't matter for the older viewers, but it kept me from finishing the video.
Whether you think it's smart or not, that's the reason. Automatic gearboxs upshift at lower points more consistently than human drivers with manuals. More consistent lower rpms yields better MPG. Even cooley said it.
I suppose you elected to read only what suited you, and not the entire article, nor the part that said: Cars with manual transmission always get better fuel economy than cars with automatics. It might have been true once, but it's not true for all cars anymore. And you said owned...not too bright.
LMAO. Sure I read your article... it said this, "Vehicles with manual transmissions generally are more fuel-efficient than their automatic counterparts". Owned.
The 7 series has had this since 2002, this is nothing new for BMW. Since the shifter is electronic it doesn't lock into different positions so theres no real point in putting it into park and then turning the engine off. Just push engine off and have the car do it automatically.
Best review person for the job.
Good review but the Bang & Olfuson system is a must. It sounds amazing
Wow this man is one of the best doing car reviews! I love the way he explain things... he make u understand everything
I've seen this car and person and YES it looks better in real life. Great looking machine inside and out, not to mention rare
Long live Brian Cooley! This is the BEST car show on the web! He can do Topgear USA by himself,
Love when Brian tells it like it is.
yo there is odd sound frequency that hurt my ear, not sure if anyone can hear it.
I can definitely hear it🥴
Another great review, Thanks Brian for the great work always appreciated. Cooley is the most exciting car reviewer hands down.
Fast forward a few years later .. the F10 M5 is a bargain purchase saloon rocket ship. A clean, well maintained one can be had for just north of 39k.
Not bad, but i still prefer the sound of the v10 m5 E34
GET THIS MAN ON TOP GEAR U.S. - EXCELLENT PRESENTATION !!!
I still like the E60 M5's styling and engine sound :P
The tech on this car is amazing...drooling
I had to replay it when he said it had a manual version to be sure. Thank you BMW for still being cool.

I like this guy's reviews. Good especially for CNET

Brian please more car reviews,i keep logging everyday waiting for the next car review to apear
only reason i still watch cnet
The ///M5 is a badass BMW. I like almost alll of them. My favorite M5 is the E39 M5. Great vid!
M5 + Brian Cooley = life is good
brian...when i first watched your reviewd, i loathed them, now they are among my favorites
The turbos are still twin scroll, theres just two of them. Wonder if that night vision detects and calls out deers and stuff, would be useful here.
LOL!!!! the new M5 AKA the skull breaker, I really loved the way you deliver & present your review Brian...
What a coincidence, this M5 is exactly the color I'd want, inside and out, if i were to buy one myself. It may be about 95k, but it's probably one of the best cars you can buy for 95k.

What a phenomenal review!!
Manual shifting is more prone to higher RPMs. Automatics tend to seek higher gears and go for lower RPMs, ergo better mileage.
Full torque @ 1800 rpm @ 502lb·ft and 23 mpg w/ 560hp ... "Kept it kinda old school". Guy doesn't know what he's talking about.
Most A/T get better MPG ratings now. And not just the advanced DCT ones either. The simple A/T in a Subaru BRZ gets better MPG than the M/T counterpart.
the m5 came out in the 1990s. There is more than one edition of the M5... currently, the F10.
E39 hands down, i know the new M% has a boat load of horsepower, but it just something special about the e39 M%. I think it's the best M5 ever built.
When will a new episode of CNET On Cars arrive? If it will arrive at all?
Brian, how gimmicky do you think those night vision things are? I mean you already can't see very well out your windshield if you have to use your night vision. And now they make you take your sight off the road to look at the screen?
Do you think that the steering vibration might have been simply poor wheel balance? I had a similar issue until i did roadforce balancing.

Cooley is a minor US treasure.
I like the way the older versions look IMHO
The clips showing the M5 driving have a very high pitched annoying noise attached. Please like this so they know.
Is called a turbo.
SO ORIGINAL! WOW TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!
ON MY WAY BY PARTY GHOST!!! MY FAVORITE SONG AND MY FAVORITE CAR!!!
Yeah but bmws usually have a custom holder for the iPhone if you see Cooley's other bimmer videos like the 3-series so even with the adapter it still wouldn't fit unfortunately. :/
Anyone know there aren't any new episodes of CNET On Cars anymore?? 😢
the same with all the companies. Just get an adapter... but BMW also has bluethooth audio.
Great review as always !!!
Great review! I love this guy!
...and didn't Apple recently announce that the retro-fit adapter will be available only through Apple and Apple exclusively?
Bmw is the shit . I own a 2008 528i and personally like that body style then this one. none the less i love this.
What is the name of the song/track that starts with the video?
Damn 2013 all that thats pretty cool
A little surprised he didn't even mention the "synthetic engine sound" thing that some people have criticized the M5 for, but a great review nevertheless.
Love the technology.
love this car... which it had better mpg!
Why do the headlights appear to flicker on film?
i love this guy ..... nice review ...
I was really hoping it would be faster than 4.2 but for everyday drivng I have no doubt that's more than enough.
4.2 seconds to 60 is bmw's official press release specification. However, manufacturers often underrate a vehicle's performance figures. The F10 M5, bone stock, has been known to achieve 60mph in as low as 3.7 seconds.
+Alec Pangilinan They have also been dyno'd at 650 HP stock
4.2 without launch control I think. 3.7 when its in the sportiest settings with a really good launch.
agree ".. in a car with a loud exhaust" yup, so loud and muted they have to fake it through the in-car speakers. didn't have to do that with the V10 did you BMW?
I got to say, after test driving a new M5 , i still like the e39 M5 the best.
was this filmed with a camera phone?
THAT IS THE FREQUENCY OF THE LIGHTS AND THE CAMERA CANT KEEP UP.
Superb review.
I think BMW made the car to be driven by automotive engineers. Gotta love the tech.
Then why do manuals typically get a lower EPA mileage rating?
why are the front headlights blinking ?
MONEY CAN BRING HAPPYNESS
Nice review
Tesla's control center is doing to conventional car instrument panels, what iphone did to Blackberry. It's just a "game changer".
Why do i hear squealing during the video at some parts?
Fully of tech
I dont like how the nose of the new BMW's sticks out nowadays, on the older models it used to have a slight lean back or straight. a bit dissapointed , but still
I LOVE BMW!!! I HAVE THE X5 2009 4.8 AND THIS CAR I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE AS WELL BUT IT WON'T HAPPEN FOR NOW:(
Im pretty sure the new iPhone has an adapter so u can use it with older connectors
am i the only one that thinks the previous 5 series is better looking that the current one
You sir are correct
I don't think it's better looking. But holy shit it is better sounding.
E39

can someone please tell me then name of this song!
can you get the manual in Europe?
whats the song in the begging?
Looks like your car needed wheel alignment. Did you guys to try that? Someone must have been drifting that car.
What model did you get?
btw the m550d got 3 turbos
loud exhaust only on the oustide .. heard its rlly quiet on the inside ==
I can't see a driver choosing a manual gearbox being able to keep the revs down. It's just not possible. A manual is just too much fun.
why couldn't you get the old M5 new?
just bought a manual one for 90,000... It's one hell of a car
how do they even get there hands on one of these to review?
Cooley is King!
future technology for today
OMG!!!!! that car is amazing
I"D GET THE MANUAL DAMNIT! MUAHAHAH!
I don't like how much new technology is in new cars. Why can't we just keep it simple with the radio and navigation...?
1:04 FINALLY. RELIEF FOR MY EARS.
"rarely does a shift it yourself get better mileage" i thought all manuals get about 2 mpg more?
god i'll miss the high reving v10!
14/20 HWY, wow, other reviews say it'll do 27. In full M2 mode it must be 14/20
Can you lease an M5?
I suppose you elected to read only what suited you, and not the entire article, nor the part that said:

He meant for the last 2 years. They didn't make the M5 in the 2011 and 2012 model.
right through the skull...what a dangerous hood.
