    I like how you guys are far less concerned with production and far more concerned with showing us how and when to use the tools you review. That's the difference between "contact creators" or "influencers" and people actually in the field. Bravo, and thank you for sharing!

      Wow I really like this comment. Yes I want good production but I’d rather have actual use of the tool on the job.

    Hi Darren ,
    I use that planer a lot for scribing base boards to uneven tiled and wood floors as we don't use shoe mold a lot here in Ireland, its so handy for light work like kitchen scribes and as you say the tops of doors. The 6v battery is a must and lasts for ages in the drivers. I hear you on the different tool brands i nearly need a separate truck for all the different batteries and chargers! I worked in Charlotte for a few weeks about 30years ago seems only like yesterday, subscribed
    Regards Liam

    I just purchased one of these planers. Great video on uses. I have a few doors I need to trim out and was terrified about using my bigger planer. Thanks for the suggestion for upgrading to a 6 amp battery. I also love that 12 v light the best one out there!

    I liked the tip with making the cup to make the beam fit. I probably wouldn't have come up with this myself. One question, though. Why not go with a jigsaw. Changing the tool might take a few seconds more. The clean up will be faster, though 🙂
    Great to see you wearing ear protection while filming. Too many youtubers either don't understand the need, or they are afraid to look stupid ... as if it was stupid to protect your hearing and mental health.

    I saw a few of your Bosch videos and you got me interested on their 12v. I am actually invested on the m12, but I am starting to look on other 12v platforms especially where they focus more on wood working power tools. Got the planer yesterday and I am starting to see where I can use it. I keep telling myself not to invest on another brand, but I simply can’t practice my business just going full on Milwaukee.

      i just bought the 18v sander, 12v sander, planer, jigsaw and router
      !! lowes has free battery and charger for each of these. i snagged the planer new for 110 and jigsaw for 80 on ebay. got the rest at lowes i was going to take the 12v sander back and get another 18v but its a pound lighter and if im doing little things or sanding stuff above shoulder i think that pound will add up fast so im keeping it. the sanders are the best ive used besides the aircats i have. im invested in the m18 and m12 to but am a woodworker and bosch really stepped it up. milwaukee and dewalts cordless sanders suck mega bad!!! bosch for the win!!

    You should try the Bosch 12v router. It's great for little stuff.

    The red spring-loaded “chock” on the base allows you to set it down (on a bench) without the blades (knives) a king contact.(you overlooked that in stateing how people would hate that.

    • @campbellbuilt
      @campbellbuilt  Рік тому

      Hand planes and two handed planes don’t have a red “chock” as you say. With traditional planes you either keep a piece of wood nearby to set your plane on or use it’s side. I view this Bosch tool more as a traditional hand plane than a modern day planer.

    It’s so weird how a lot of the Bosch tools have that trigger delay😂 I think about half of my stuff does that and some of my dad’s 12v tools do as well

  • @c50ge
    @c50ge 3 роки тому

    My Dad would always throw a fit if I were to set a plane with the blade down. I thought of that instead of your hand close to the blade. My Dad also thought me you hand will heal , tools won’t heal.

      This model has a blade protector. If laying the plane flat, it will hold the blade above the surface. It moves out of the way in use. My DeWalt also has this feature.

    i wish milwaukee made a m12 planer like this

  • @zoladkow

    any tips on blade fine tuning on this so it takes even depth on each side? there's no depth adjustment like on bigger planes 😑

    What's your opinion on the dust bag?

    • @campbellbuilt
      @campbellbuilt  Рік тому +1

      It’s garbage but I forgive it’s short comings. I like that it can be rotated and switched to the other side if needed but it easily plugs up at the head.

      If you don’t set the blade not to deep the bag keeps up but if you go full depth it plugs.

    Dude. Get the Bosh brushless 12v drill. It's so good! Make sure it's the brushless which are harder to find. The mainstream brushed versions are junk to be honest.

      Yeah, I got the Bosch GSR 12V-35 FC (with the FlexiClick chucks) and its just fantastic. The power it has is just crazy for the size and 12V system :) I driven tons of 5x90mm woodscrews straight into pineboards in 2nd gear, no predrill, and it just does it, and even with just the 3Ah batteries it can drive quite a lot of screws :)
      I'm looking at getting more of their 12V tools, the planer is definetly on my list, and the 12V sander :) Both should come in handy for boat interior work.

      We’ve had the planer since preorder but haven’t ran that sander yet. Looks cool though.
