I grew up west of that area and visited these places but family left for south Texas just after I turned 18. Some of the areas brought back memories, thank you.

Linville Gorge in NC claims the Grand canyon of the east, too. It might be the most dramatic of all the eastern canyons. Take NC 105 down the western side of the gorge for incredible views and dispersed camping. There are also plenty of campgrounds in the area
Thanks for the advice, hopefully we can check it out someday. - yeah, we laugh as we notice there are many states that claim "the Grand Canyon East of the Mississippi"
Hey guys, you were in my neck of the woods!!! I would have loved to come and hang out, I was in Alaska while the Hikers were in town. Great video, maybe I'll see you in Kentucky!
When planning a trip I always give HipCamp a view for possible locations to stay. So far I only stayed at one near Manchester Vermont. It was a beautiful 3 acre hillside with a view of the Green Mountains. definitely worth its price.
You picked a beautiful area! Haven't camped Watkins Glen since the kids were little, love it. We are from CNY and Finger Lakes is our fav. We just camped Sampson State Park in July, just north of WG on the east side of Seneca Lake. Thank you for the HipCamp info, considering trying a Hip camp.
Looks like a lot of fun. I have never hip camped and after seeing it still not sure what it is. All the water falls looked like lots of good times. So I have to ask do you find that buying the roof top AC unit was worth the upgrade price? I have been debating the idea of purchasing it. I am sure we will get AC just not sure what type. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hipcamp is kind of like VRBO/AirBnB but for camping - you pay to stay on someone's property. As for AC -it is nice to have on those hot and muggy nights. We haven't tried any of the portable ones. The AC unit on the Hiker works great but it is overkill for the small space.
Thanks for responding back. I kinda figured that’s what a hip camp was. And overkill on the AC hmm that make me wonder if I should check other options@@MWDAdventures
Great video! How was the trip back to Michigan? I'm hitting the UP in a couple weeks from the Albany, NY area and was curious how the border crossings (Peace/Rainbow and Bluewater) were westbound. How was customs with the trailer? Thanks and keep up the great work!
We ended up going through Ohio on our way back to Michigan. On our recent trip exploring Ontario, we crossed at Sault Ste Marie and customs was very relaxed. No issues with the trailer.
Looking for an opinion. I just bought an 8' awning but I have a 10' trailer. So something won't be covered. Do you put it forward to cover the door so you don't get wet getting in and out when it's raining or do you put it back to get more room since the door is no longer under the awning and in the way? I've got the 3 racks in the back and 1 in the front, so I can mount it either way.
Is it an awning that you will mount with each trip (like a MoonShade)? If so, I would consider if there will be rain or not. If rain - definitely cover the door. If no rain, then move it back further. If it is permanently mounted - I would cover the door.
I love the HIPCAMP platform enough to become a Host. -- It is important for users to take time and research the reviews left from previous users. As a Host, I can confirm that all the reviews are un-revised from the user's direct input. I had two "bad" (only two out of 98 so far) reviews from years ago. One happened while I was still developing my sight...the platform will not remove the review although it is inaccurate due to continued upgrades. - my second poor review was payback because the person left early and wanted a refund for the last day, due to inclement weather. I decided not to "buy" his good review. - Thanks for taking us along.
Fantastic. Can't wait to meet other Hikers with our new Hiker.

How mesmerizing, I could NEVER get bored around all that. That food looks yummy! Hopefully, next year I will have my own Hiker camper. Nice video

There is definitely a wide range of what is offered at Hipcamps - some are definitely better than others :-). This was a good one. Happy Camping

That would be a beautiful area during the fall foliage turns colors! Bucket list to go to area. Thanks guys.
Yes it would be beautiful! We said the same thing.

Good to know - thanks!
English Canada still calls it gas, French speaking regions of Canada will refer to gas as "petrol"
Neat camp site. Did it get damp back in amongst all the vegetation and shade?
It wasn't too bad. We were worried about bad bugs but they weren't too bothersome either.
Can you travel with the propane tank in its mount ?
Yes we do keep it mounted on the side of the trailer while we are on the road. Just make sure to turn it off :-)
Matt. Where do you buy that front vent port?
We sell the covers. Dm us or mwdadventures.com

@@MWDAdventures Thanks. It's effectively permanent. Right now, I have it forward over the door. I guess I leave it there. Thanks.
