“I had very little experience with 3D or cgi” Bro, Bismarck looks like a Hollywood movie at this point, you did such a good job! Edit: also, the water was good, but maybe add some white to it to make it actually look like rushing water IRL.
Well, tbh it is his first experience on making 3d cgi effects in this video. Tbf the waves look alright for now, but i hope there wiuld be improvements if he wishes to make another Animation of Bismarcks Sistership "Tirpitz".
Yeah the shells striking water effect looked a bit off to me. Like they were just too repetitive and ugly looking. No hate though I love this video and this guys channel
Such a dedication blows my mind. In my opinion, Lego Bismarck is by far the best and most satisfying looking war brickfilm that you've done. Big movie studio companies should really consider hiring you if they ever needed bad ass stop motion animator / VFX artist!
The amount of work, dedication, effort, and patience that you put into this is unreal. I could never do something like this. You are an inspiration to all of us.
Fantastic work. I have shared your video with fellow retired Royal Naval Officers, and we all agree that your attention to historical, ship, aircraft (Stringbags), weapon systems and other detail is just truly awesome. Well done! We especially loved the looks of grim determination on the faces of the little Officers' and Sailors' faces. It's just like that, when the shells are flying!
This man is a legend. Thank you for creating this channel. When I was around 6 yrs old, I started watching UA-cam and one of my favourite things to watch were your pirate stop motions. I’m gonna be 13 soon. -JR- -2023-
The short length of the finished product belys the length of time required to set up, film and finish the final piece. I love how each individual sound can be heard and that some are over layed with others, and details of the historical event itself is amazing! Very well made! Love it!
THIS is what we call impressive and interesting. A mix from lego, history, and IT things. the video's are cool, but behinds the scenes makes is better if you watch the video again; then you recognise things form the behind the scenes video's.
Wonderful work and well done for revitalising one of the perhaps undersung epic battles of WW2. So many interesting features about this battle and well done for highlighting most of them.
The large amount of time and effort you put in these stop motions really pay off, and make them worth waiting a while. Also, they help a lot with my history class.
Sometimes I hate how much the internet and social media changed the world. This is not one of those times. This is by far one of the coolest channels I'm subscribed to on YT. Keep up the amazing work!
Brilliant! Love seeing the behind the scenes work. Really puts into perspective your attention to detail and the amount of work required to make the finished video. Keep it up!
This was a really well constructed breakdown of your film. Big projects are a pain to work on as the amount of work needed is massive. It was really cool to see how you planned all your shots so that they would work well in post production. Good work.
The video itself was amazing but seeing all the work that went into it is jaw droppingly awesome. Thank you for all you hard work, it is greatly appreciated and I can’t wait to see what you decide to do next.
That's insane how you managed to create literally every single sound effect and green screen effect in the project. It's definitely payed off, well done JD Brick Productions. Also it was your YT channel that inspired me to make my own LEGO Stop-Motion channel too. 😁
Your Bismarck model is amazing. It would be really cool to see you recreate scenes from Das boot. Hell, even a cold war submarine movie would be fun too. Love it man.
I only recently found your video's! I love watching them even though I'm in my 60s. Its a great way too teach young kidds history. Your animation its brilliant.
@@copyright_person The original Trilogy was an enjoyable part of my childhood. I have moved on. And my opinion is mine, like a favourite flavour, quite subjective. I doubt that millions of people will have enmity against me for that, since it does not condemn their own fandom. Love what you enjoy, and all the best to you.
I have watched several of your videos. Love that you use that all familiar scream used in every action movie ever created. You know which one I am talking about even though I can’t recall the scream number. Big 👍🏽
I’m not sure if you’re aware, but there is a Polish company that makes accurate recreations of historical military vehicles. Cobi is the brand. The bricks are compatible with Lego and are good quality. It can be difficult to find sets as they are imported, but they may make builds easier. Your work is amazing and I hope you can continue with it.
Honestly, even if Lego doesn’t want to acknowledge military themes, they should 100% sponsor you just to get some good publicity because you make legos and Lego stopmotion look cool as hell.
Dang, I thought the ship was CG (it was hard for me to tell tbh). It's always interesting seeing the behind the scenes of big projects like this, and for you being new to 3D animation it is really impressive! I would've never guessed the propellers were CG.
@Molcrafts if you dont know why would you respond a year later saying something to help no one. Just so you feel special because your the only comment?
Your editing and animation skills have gotten better and better, the quality of this project is insane!
Hes building skills tho
Astounding, I am floored by the scope and detail of this project.

This makes me want to start making Lego stop motions again. Bring backs slot of memories.

Absolutely phenomenal! I'm pretty sure many would pay big bucks for you to make a step by step course guide
Dude, your stop motion skills are also off the charts, but your building is so immaculate.

Blown away by this, you are extremely talented and I hope lego notices if they haven’t already
The Bismarck is awesome! I d like to see the battle of Iwo Jima
Awesome as always. You’re an inspiration.
Some of the best stopmotions
Wonderful work and well done for revitalising one of the perhaps undersung epic battles of WW2. So many interesting features about this battle and well done for highlighting most of them.
Undersung?
The large amount of time and effort you put in these stop motions really pay off, and make them worth waiting a while. Also, they help a lot with my history class.
Its hard to imagine how much work there is behind a movie like this. Greetings from sweden
Sometimes I hate how much the internet and social media changed the world. This is not one of those times. This is by far one of the coolest channels I'm subscribed to on YT. Keep up the amazing work!
Incredible work man, I... I have no words. You're the beast! All your works are insane, but this maybe the best of them!
Brilliant! Love seeing the behind the scenes work. Really puts into perspective your attention to detail and the amount of work required to make the finished video. Keep it up!

The hard work and effort this guy put in all of his videos were worth it
Hollywood should hire this guy... You are the BEST Lego stop motion maker!
The video itself was amazing but seeing all the work that went into it is jaw droppingly awesome. Thank you for all you hard work, it is greatly appreciated and I can’t wait to see what you decide to do next.
The amount of work for that masterpiece is incredible

There is a great effort in each of your videos. You explained Bismarck in the best way about the planes that sank Bismarck. Congratulations
This was a great stopmotion, your animation skills are great!
this is one of the most impressively designed and produced brickfilms I’ve seen in quite a while
AMAZING work, brother!! I love that video *and* the behind the scenes. Well done!! :)
Just unbelievable work! Your videos are so impressive and ambitious that it just blows my mind! Amazing job! Can’t wait to see what you make next!

Better than the Star Wars prequels, and sequels. Not joking at all. I hope this labour of love is a rewarding accomplishment for you, JDBrick.
