Government Doesn't Care if Subcontractors are Ripped Off!

- It appears the government takes the position that if a subcontractor gets ripped off by a company engaged by a government agency, it's not their problem.
I've been asking the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) about a particular historical case where a subcontractor was ripped off by a construction company on their project and can't get compensation.
If their response is that it's a matter for the construction company, even if that company rips off their subcontractors, it wouldn't be a good enough response.
Senator Malcom Roberts : " Keeping the bastards honest "
Exposing their dishonesty more like it !
@@turnyourbacktoit I know that , the words "keeping the bastards Honest " refer to Soir Don Chippley a strong advocate for direct democracy, believing that decisions should be made by the members, not a carefully engineered elite. His legacy continues to inspire others to keep the bastards honest, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability in politics.
"I`m not aware of that". LIES, LIES, LIES, LIES, LIES............
Do you have a full understanding of anything?
Sack him!
What are these people getting paid for, they never know anything!
I don't see why they're not sent a copy of the questions prior to the hearing so they've got no excuse
It used to be that in Australia when a company was lucky enough to win a government contract they could rely on getting paid. No so these days.
Absolutely they dont give a fuck.
Reminds me of chief wiggum dusting his hands when a cougar is loose in the mall.
I am dismayed at how long it takes Senator Roberts to get answers to his questions....appears they don't know what they are asked to answer. Could go for months.
Does he ever get answers. the senator needs a medal in patience and perserverance
I agree. I think they should be given a time limit to come back with their on notice answers. While they sit for months/years on their fat arses the poor sub-contractor are suffering. Thank you Senator Roberts for a job well done.
this is the entire point of the subcontracting system, so that the prime contractor is NEVER held accountable.
Isn’t it wonderful how they squirm when asked questions.
Caught Red Handed
Thank you senator Roberts for holding these people to accountable.
This happens regularly……..Prime Contractor gets paid, then screws the Subbie….
It amazes me how these oxygen thieves keep their jobs. If they worked in the private sector they would have been sacked for incompetence.
Its an awesome afternoon when i get home and scroll through to see if you have uploaded.
Keep up the great work.
Sergeant Schultz knows more than every grub that goes before the Senate!
Respect Senator Roberts, what an utter shit show you allow us to witness, our tax dollars hard at work with this circus.
Why are these people SO unprepared?
Thank you Malcolm, you truly care for all Australians, Sub-contractors are the most vulnerable workers and businesses out there... believe me.... I've said it for years, and most businesses, builders know it and use it to destroy people, families' lives.... to gain their profit
You're a gem Senator Roberts. Following through on specific cases is the best way to ensure Government fumctions effectively 'and' cause no harm through its bureaucratic limitations.
These comedic muppets are starting to become comedic geniuses on UA-cam. They are starting to collect a following on their brilliance 🥵
The Huge Building Companies always do this to the smaller contractors...they have the money to take it to court and ultimately drag it on, they spend for example $200 k on lawyers, never pay the contractors and come out with millions on top, that they charged the Government .... Small to Mid contractors cannot win...
Always a question on notice because these overpaid fools don't come prepared and its a cop out to runaway so they can come up with some BS answer..They should be paid the minimum wage .
Government is notorious for late payment. Had a friend contracted in computing work back in the 1980 and early 1990s. She was forced to use her credit card to survive, until she got paid each time.
what a show of nit wits in suites as the blue collar contractor gets reamed by the big boys in the block.
Wow
Take that on notice should be abolished to stop wasting peoples time with questions and no answer
They should be sent the questions they are going to get asked prior so they've got no excuse
@FTY13 .....I believe they do. However, they still take questions on notice.
Absolutely unbelievable !!
Doing more for workers than the unions Go Malcom 👍🏻
And subcontractors dont care if customers are ripped off. Its a viscious circle.😂
Every time someone says I will take that on notice I never seem to get the answer I follow this sight digilanty
So said how little these people know about their job and associated reponsibility and accountability
You do great work Malcolm 👍
What do they do for the money ??????????????????????????????????????/////
Off the shelf companies win millions of dollars Govt contracts, then off load the work to subcontract companies, and the subbies are the only ones that takes the risk, so so wrong
They always take things on notice, just a cop out.
Government. We are an equal opportunities exploiter.
It would be nice if the people knew what the senator was going to ask prior to the actual hearing that way they've got no excuse for we'll take that on notice
That happens to subby's all over the country..!!! I know a bloke (small operator) who went down $40,000 on a local council job because the contractor they chose went belly up !!! Then about 12 months later went down $55,000 on the contractor straight up not paying..!!! And it's not his work he is very professional and always 100% quality...!!!
I'll take it on notice, I'll take it on notice. Means nothing but leave me alone to collect my pay check.
It is a BS system. I could tender to provide a "Dog house" and not know the first thing about it and yet get 10 other companies to make the dog house. This is what happens when the departments that used to do things themselves (eg main roads) dont do anything anymore, just get contractors who subcontract to those who subcontract to others. An endless money pit with no responsibility.
Please
Senators Roberts can you please join the citizens party .
👍👍👍👍👍
Proves government not socialist then aye. Let business deal with business 😅
Not prepared. Sit in jail until you and your lawyer work it out..
So they know shit.
