Father, thank you for sharing your homilies on UA-cam. I live in Philadelphia and am lucky to be able to access your wisdom and guidance. God bless you.
First time commenter. I truly love your sermons very inspirational. My dad would tell me “ Sometimes you need to look back to be able to look forward. “ another one was “ Sometimes the student is the best teacher.” On account the teacher has to relearn the basics to teach the student from the beginning and now with experience they can explain and teach the subject better. God Bless
Great quotes ! My dear Father who died 25 years ago (D-Day Normandy and Battle of Bulge Veteran) used to tell me (humorously) "The First 100 years of Life are the hardest........after that it's Easy" God Bless you !
"Prayer is warfare to our last breath"! Absolutely AND ALSO it is written in the epistles concerning the fight against sin " You have not yet had to fight into death"! The battle against Self is real, we must embrace the battle daily or satan will win. Im learning of late the Power of chaplets to the arc angels and saints! We must literally Whip with Rosary and other chaplets the demons within our family line, out, and tied up back in hell whom ARE wandering around trying to destroy OUR salvation and our family members salvation. It is TRUE REAl ferocious War Im finding! Thank you father, and may Gods will be done!
Working on a soul at work. She's an on again/off again Mass goer. She said she feels guilty because she has trouble focusing at Mass. Apparently, someone doesn't want her focusing at Mass, then wants her feeling bad and giving up. Thanks for giving me ammo in the fight for a soul. Onward to battle tomorrow in the office!
There's a woman from South America who had a near death experience after being struck by lighting. She was shown things like the devils " scratching " people's heads at Mass to distract them, especially by making people focus on themselves. Learning that helped me battle the demon who took my attention from the Holy Sacrifice. Oddly enough, some people go to the Latin Mass to keep from getting distracted. It's odd because you'd think that with little involvement from the laity, people would get more distracted, but they say the silence helps them focus on God and to pray and meditate. That might not be the case for all, but it couldn't hurt to test it.
Beautiful sermon, Father. I highly recommend St. Elizabeth of the Trinity. Her commentary on silence has been the single most influential writing of a saint I’ve ever read. Fr. Philipon’s book is fantastic.
@@FatherJohnHollowell - When you read her works please make a podcast. I'm a college graduate, but I need lots of guidance in unpacking the spiritual writings.
Thank you so much for the video. By the way, it is always a strange experience to hear about the New Testament in English because I am connected to the New Testament in a powerful way through Hebrew and through life in the Holy Land. I live right next to the places in the New Testament and see the buildings that Herod built
I am glad you explained this. As a challenge, I translate the NT readings from French into English everyday. I know what it says, but I was having a hard time understanding it. Thank goodness we have priests.
What a wonderful song about God’s grace . Verse 1] Your grace that leads this sinner home From death to life forever And sings the song of righteousness By blood and not by merit [Verse 2] Your grace that reaches far and wide To every tribe and nation Has called my heart to enter in The joy of Your salvation [Chorus] By grace, I am redeemed By grace, I am restored And now I freely walk Into the arms of Christ my Lord [Verse 3] Your grace that I cannot explain Not by my earthly wisdom The prince of life, without a stain Was traded for this sinner [Chorus] By grace, I am redeemed By grace, I am restored And now I freely walk Into the arms of Christ my Lord
James 3:6 NASB And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
@@Wgaither1 LOL. Deusimperator has a low threshold for stupidity. And, he is not my boy. He is a true Christian who is a member of the Body of Christ. He has helped lost and fallen Protestants to come to the True Christ.
R. Zell The infallible scripture would disagree with you. Deus doesn’t have a living faith. If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. (James 1:26, ESV)
@@Wgaither1 And there we have it. You have not bridled your tongue (Keyboard in this case). So you throw stones at Deusimperator and do not see the filth and disgust you have hurdled at the True Christ and His Church. I'm just saying that you are guilty and thus throw stones as well.
R. Zell so you would have to agree if you think me being a Protestant doesn’t have a living faith then deus doesn’t either. 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:15, ESV)
"Prayer is warfare to the last breath." Love it.

bamb. Father John circles around. peers about. and slowly drops the bomb. we are conquered and will repent. i for one need to.
5 days of silence??? That sounds like the scariest non-lethal thing in the world.
God bless you Father. Have you ever heard of Unbound deliverance?
Yeah. a little
