Honestly - good documentarian-ing
I've always been pretty skeptical on Urbit but i'm starting to think if Urbit had presented its weird developers to me first instead of it's weird programming language i'd have been on board day 1. These people really want to change the world, and i'm sure they'll do it whatever path that takes.
This video is super cursed
I am the Great Cornholium I need ETH for my bunghole.
How many security experts are on your team?
Surely you have a couple with decades of experience...
impressive. very nice. Now lets look at ui latency.
Might have been the screen recording software. We will check that.
@@JustinMurphyI mean it in general when I use the port client the ui just seems a bit slow. I would make a suggestion(advice perhaps?) to try to get the dev guys to do a "clean up" phase where they just try to make things performant even on older machines. I think that modern software in general is just needlessly slow even though we have an abundance of hardware.
@@asdqwe345 From my understand, they are writing code that's several levels above bare metal, like Python. This creates a lot of overhead. But in principle the overhead doesn't have to be there, someone would just have to write a dedicated compiler (which is a hell of a job, and not worth it until there's something out there worth compiling). In other words, the efforts spend today will not be wasted as there's still a lot of room on the backend to increase performance. If it even works at all, most likely what they wrote is the right way to do it, and performance optimisations will be in C not in Hoon
Why the Berlin flag?
I know you mean a white sheet, but as a south german I find a large numbered list of designated jobs, despised but nevertheless completed, also very fitting ensignia for Berlin.
