It makes me sad to see people saying "It is a Shrek song.", "It is not a serious song" blablabla..
This song is so filled with emotion and so much love and sadness, at the same time. It was in Shrek, yes. Does it mean it is not a serious song? Heck no.
This song is one of the best pieces ever written, and the fact that so many people sing/play it and cover it proves it.

It's terribly sad that "Shrek" is one of the few things people can associate this with...but that's just a sign of the times. It shows just how young folks are that they don't relate this song with something further in the past. Those of us from "Days Gone By" knew of Leonard Cohen back before most of you where born. He was...and always shall be...a Legend.

You ever notice that when it's a fast song, people say, "That was awesome! Keep up the good work!" But when it's a slow song, everyone no longer has anxiety or depression or they come up with paragraphs? Me, I just cry while commenting about the similarities in comments.
