Wasn't gonna comment on this one, but I just got my 3qrt Dutch oven/skillet (griddle) today from BACKWOODS GOURMET!!! SEMINOLE SEASONING (×12) is next! Then I'm trying my first chicken pot pie! Thanks

Thanks fer th great review of this new Lodge line! Diehard, lifelong CI guy, here; always lookin fer pieces that actually work well...Best of luck 8-) gittin that SS spatula straightened out, an looks to these ol eyes like a smaller, more deft spat would have served ya better, on this small griddle. I have a few CI griddles, as well as a Blackstone 36", an tools enough to comfortably, conveniently work each one best. Always enjoy yer videos, Brother, keep up yer good works! :-)
This is really excellent. If I were young, I would not seek out the antiques. I would buy this instead. Half my collection is antique, half is modern Lodge. Modern Lodge is slightly superior, in my opinion. The latest Lodge may be better. Thanks for this video.
It looks nice, and those cut out areas surly reduce some weight. Cooking on the grill, or open fire, is no problem. But I wonder how well it heats up, on a glass top, electric stove, in the house? (Since there is not much metal, flat surface area, against the stove top) Here is a follow up video..."Stove vs Grill".
Chris Sewell Excellent question, Jeff Rogers uses 2 copper plate diffusers under griddles. I had a Lodge heat treated double griddle that had a similar style back to this Blacklock. Did a trial with my one copper plate diffuser under it. As Jeff reported, there wasn’t enough metal 2 metal contact to properly function together. Unfortunately, most all apt. rental units only have crummy electric stoves instead nice natural gas ones.
Great video! Did it heat up quicker because it’s thinner? Is there greater chance of it being distorted/ cracking in the heat because of its thinness? Thanks!
Great review I'm glad that Lodge decided to step up their product line. I hope these new Black Lock products are the real deal. Breakfast looked good, pancakes had great color. You want to see The perfect pancake video, ( Sorta) check out Strong's Adventures pancake video. I liked the spatula, what is the brand name?? Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎.
Rainy Sundays is the music at the end. I would leave an attribution, but UA-cam doesn't give us that on these anymore. Off of the UA-cam creator music page. I believe the band is the 126rs.
I can not seem to find this griddle from any of your links. Has this product been released? I found the older style that you referenced, but not the one you highlighted in your review. Amazon search didn't bring up anything either. Thanks.
Scott, I just got a Sportsman grill after watching a bunch of your videos, and yes I used your store. I want to get a griddle but this thing costs more than the grill. Does it fit the raised edge of the grill like older 2-sided griddle? Looks to have more usable space. Thanks for the great review.
Great product review, I see the black lock prices are a bit higher than the original lodge do you think it’s worth the price difference? Thank you very much
@@TorryGood I just read about it in the Portland Business Journal about 5 days ago. It's the first acquisition of another cast iron company in Lodge's entire history. They're sing they want to keep the brands separate and just move Finex's product here to the US in Lodge's foundry, which is fine, but then Lodge has 2 high end cast iron lines competing against each other? Or maybe they intend to keep Finex near its current price point, and they'll have a high end line and a higher end line? I don't know, it just seems weird to be running both for what should seem like the same consumer group.
If you know of a mic that will pic up my voice, but not the noise, please let me know. This is an ongoing issue that I have been trying to solve. I have spend a couple of hundred dollars on gear and still not there yet.
Please check out OUR Amazon Store for great deals on the gear we use and recommend. amazon.com/shop/backwoodsgourmetchannel
I love that you actually cook on these things while reviewing as opposed to some people who don't. Great job! I just subbed for these reasons.
Seems to me every test of every piece of cast iron newly bought gets praise. Videos are made of cheap stuff from thrift stores doing a great job.
That looks like a great griddle. looks Perfect for the LSG. I totally agree about the Blackstone stuff I've never been interested in that.
Just got my 10.25" in today's mail. Can't wait to use it. Thanks for the video review.
Do you like it?

That’s awesome, I plan on getting one for my lsg now
Nice video and a great review. I recently bought two Blacklock skillets and they are now my favorites.
Looks like a great product . I guess you could cook-it-all on this griddle .
Semper Fi
Griddle write-up good and that breakfast looked great.....I can eat that breakfast right now.....
Could you use a bigger spatula?
Looks sweet. I like the extra room on the surface.

Good looking chunk of iron! Getting the job done, thanks for the review.

Thanks for sharing. I have had my eye on getting one of these. Now I'm even more interested.
Very nice... I would love to get one of these, and a fish pan.

Which griddle do you prefer, the two sided, or the new one ?
Nice... I want to get one of these and looks like it performed well... but holy hell, with the amount of oil used it better not stick haha
Great video! Did it heat up quicker because it’s thinner? Is there greater chance of it being distorted/ cracking in the heat because of its thinness? Thanks!
That griddle is looking great and I would love to have one to use when camping and might buy one from the company store sometime soon.
Awesome video as usual great looking breakfast
Well it's safe to say this one will not be taken to water of no returns I'm so glad
fascinating upload Backwoods Gourmet Channel. I killed the thumbs up on your video. Keep up the quality work.
Great video. What is the length of the cooking surface not including the handles? Thanks.
Did you know Lodge bought FINEX. Looks like they are working on the high end market as well.
I did not. I will reach out to them and see whats up.
Beautiful griddle, great breakfast, loved the review.

I use wood or synthetic spatula. I don't like the metal on metal sound 😅
I do this on purpose to demonstrate the finish on the Lodge products.
Nice !

Only sold direct right now. www.lodgemfg.com
Backwoods Gourmet Channel Only Lodge and Williams-Sonoma have the sales rights at present.
Wondering how well this griddle fits on a Coleman 2 burner?
Yep. That is upcoming. Thanks for watching.
Great looking griddle. Nice try on the French style omelet, though it should not have any color on it.
You are correct on the "no color" comment. This is outdoor cooking, and there is not a control knob on this fire. Thanks for watching.

It doesn't really fall into the griddle like the older one, but it worked great.
Great product review, I see the black lock prices are a bit higher than the original lodge do you think it’s worth the price difference? Thank you very much
That depend on your financial situation. The cheaper older griddle with a little sanding and reseasoning is just as good.
Backwoods Gourmet Channel thank you very much, love your videos always very informative and seem to be honest!
I wonder, with Lodge just acquiring Finex, if this line will get retired and folded into that as their "high end" line of cast irons?
I had no idea lodge owns finex now

@@kiltedcripple I read on facebook from lodge their keeping the price the same witch is way to much. Wish they would drop the price.
What is the 1 layer charcoal system?
Check out our playlist on the channel page using the sportsmans grill.
The grease channel is a deal breaker for me. Strange design, Lodge.
sotty that is not a French style omlette
Good griddle.
Your spatoola sucks.
UNCLEDOUG HERE LIKE THE VIDEO BUT THE NOISE UNBEARABLE !!

LOL an omelette is not "French style' just because it's folded in thirds
Sorry. Not for 100 bucks.
Lodge just had a 20% off on all Blacklock products last week. I had a $10.00 coupon that brought the price down to $70.00; ordered it.
just way too small
looks to light weight to me
Metal spatula never on cast iron 😖
