I thought I couldn't be any happier knowing that Peter Ostrum became a veterinarian... but listening to him talk about the importance of the Arts and that it should be STEAM not STEM makes my heart swell.
He is a real life Charlie. In 71 when this came out I was 6 and I walked down to the Sunset Theater in Lodi Ca. It was a Saturday matinee and it cost 50 cents. Remember it like it was yesterday.
Awesome interview! Peter is such a wonderful guy! His performance ranks as one of the best ever for a child actor, and to think he had the smarts to move on in his life to something that really challenged him, and leave acting with such a great role and history...wow! I hope his life continues to be blessed! Thank you, Peter!
“If you don’t try, you’re guaranteed to fail. If you do try, hey, it might work out for you.” Such wise words! I say it as, “You may have less than a 1/1,000,000 chance, but that is still greater than zero. If you don’t even try, your chances are zero.”
I'm in my 30s and I grew up on with this film. Made my kids watch it from a young age and I will continue to watch it at least every decade for the rest of my life.
2021 will be The Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory movie's 50th anniversary. So it'll be something to celebrate. And those Actor's and Actresses that stared in it. Will be getting more fan mail again to.
Charlie you'll be a legend for life! This movie will never go out of style because its especially popular during the Christmas season. It's just a joyful spirited movie just as you are today.
I wouldn’t say one and done I would say it only took one time to become a legend of a classical movie a generation family joy. Brought family together love your role
I wonder if he got other movie offers and he turned them down. Or did he just walk away and no studios or directors came calling on him for other parts. He did such a wonderful job that it’s hard to believe no other roles where offered.
I couldn't imagine doing something for 4 months when I was 13 and then having to talk about it for the rest of my life. I barely even remember being 13.
I kinda like him without the mustache. Was never a fan of the mustache look on anyone. No offense to anyone who likes that look. It just was never my personal taste.
Being a Shitty actor in 100 shitty Movies, does not make you a Star, Becoming an icon from starring in just one Movie, makes you wipe floor with a shitty Actor.
It’s so nice when you find out that a character you loved for being loving and caring and honest is really that way in real life♥️
It doesn't often happen but Charlie stayed Charlie and that's more than OK with me.
He turned out very well. Not a bad thing to say about him.
I think it helps that he decided not to continue acting after Wonka and instead live a normal life.
Peter was beyond brilliant as Charlie, infact he was Oscar material to say the least..♥️♥️♥️

Love this guy. At 56 I'm still a big fan of the movie and so happy for him he found a career he loves. Would love to shake his hand someday.

Still a handsome fellow - he would have been a big star in Hollywood if he had wanted to!

The movie is 50 now!
Charlie's grandfather
Seems like a nice guy 🙂 I'm glad he lost the 1800s mustache
Wow he looks at least in his mid 40s or late 30s without the mustache
lmao he does not look that young, you crazy
no he doesnt. he looks a lot older than he actually is
hes so cute 🥺
R.I.P. Gene Wilder
I wonder what he thinks of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory 2005 and Tom And Jerry: Willy Wonka
I'm happy he didn't stay in Hollywood. It would had destroyed his goodness. God, wanted better for him. And now he is doing his purpose. Amen
Wow😳😳😳😊😊😊
I miss his Mustache.
His Stache was thicker than Tom Sellecks.
he looks better with a moustache

Should've kept acting!
