why no tricycles with more than 7 speeds and nothing with a granny gear for climbing hills ?
7 speeds is the highest gear count you'll find in most of the available tricycle frames. Any higher, you'll probably need to have it custom built. It may become something they do in the future. That said, in my experience, the lower gears on any well maintained cycle will have near effortless pedaling even when going uphill. Just make sure the seat is set to the rider. Ideally, you'll want an almost full leg extension when your foot pedal reaches the bottom of the rotation. Too low, and it puts extra pressure on the knees when you're pedaling. Too high and the rider will have trouble mounting and maintaining foot contact with the pedals
