Great video. Thanks Mitch. I have seen this fire lay in an old camping book. Great to see it in action.

Nice technique. I've always done something similar in burning larger logs in half, then feeding the ends in. This eliminates the "trip hazard" of the longer ends sticking out of the fire.

Glad this channel is active again. Anyone know the tree type of the birds nest? I'm thinking pine and it carved like it was green. Any info appreciated.. It's really good these traditions carried on for the youth that have never camped to see and learn. If you understand these things you will survive a natural or man made disaster. Very important teachings. Thanks.

Cool. I didn't know it's called an Indian lay but I made fires in a similar manner with broken off sticks and branches decades ago. It just seemed like an efficient way. I learned it by necessity when I didn't have a hatchet or big knife with me.

Hi +NativeSurvival (Mitch) how did you light the fire at minute 3:45 in this video. Also, please remind me of the brand of knife you have in your hand. I remember you mentioning it before and can't figure out which brand it is. I want to see if I can order one off of REI.com or Amazon.com.
I finally purchased a sleeping bag for myself (since my sleeping I had was from the 1970s [uggh]).

Native Americans didn't make feather sticks with net arrowheads like that bro I'm still grateful that's just not the authentic way I'm trying to find a video that naps arrowheads and comes from the very basics can you try to make a video where you go out in the woods with nothing and then come up with rocks and nap knives and arrowheads and then do your survival stuff me cuz I'm more than likely that's what's going to happen if you're running for your life from the New world order or hungry cannibals you're not going to be able to run with backpacks you just going to have to survive this one of God says endure to the end thank God I know how I'm curious if you do
