Thanks again for the showcase Henry! I hope this video shines light on how “boring” the meta in premier classic is, Im currently 26/4 with this team (triple flier destroys it). Hope everyone enjoys seeing double steel get demolished haha!
It’s a bit better than it use to be in previous seasons. But I see the same 6 almost every battle. Gary being the most common.
I like this team comp a lot, and thought of maybe using heracross in place of machamp… except the dragonite matchup is way worse

It makes me extremely happy to see excadrill get obliterated by this team. I’ve seen that Mon on 90% of the battles I’ve done.
The best Master league battles I have seen so far. This really brings back the spirit, I haven't played Master league for a long time because of its predictability and boringness, really appreciate the battler.

I recently got a hundo chandelure and maxed it out for this cup. I’ve been having the same fun melting steel. I’m also using dragonite with draco meteor. caught lots of people off guard with that one 😂

I have a 14/14/14 chandelure I recently maxed out and I was debating double moving it and I’m so glad I did. It’s not the easiest to use but I’m still climbing and it is one of my favorite Pokémon after all. I once 1v3 wiped a team of machamp excadrill metagross…. It was amazing. I wish I recorded it 😂

I used to run the dragonite double steel line, but I found that after excadrill got buffed with mud shot the team just wasn't viable anymore.

I switched my Darmanitan with Chandelure and went 4-1 in the first try. I think Chandelure is better than Darmanitan thanks to Flame Charge. I've been a fan of Chandelure and I think I love it even more after this

Chandelure gave me 200 points today. Most teams are made of one Pokemon that absolutely destroys Chandelure and two Pokemons which Chandelure can beat on its own with two shields (combo of Togekiss, Metagross, Excadrill, Mamoswine).
I lead Dragonite with Snorlax and Chandelure in the back. People often don’t save their gyarados in their back so it’s usually gone when Chandelure enters the field. When Gyarados / Garchomp / Swampert is gone, I don’t need switch advantage and instead save two shields for Chandelure.
The team showcased here is hard to use IMO because I struggle to save shields for Chandelure with it. Snorlax is necessary in my team as a damage sponge.

It’s interesting this team is working in these games. I started the cup with this and played only steel leads with kiss in the middle and waterfall gyarados in back. I mean I’m only legend rank so no big deal but annoying. I am using conkeldurr instead of champ but it just shows how lucky you can get in the game.
I have seen that double flier line quite a few times as well!
Chandelure ist auch a cool designed Pokemon. I Love the spooky fire Theme around it, this Pokemon fits it all: nice moveset, nice Type Combination and does even looks great as a Tattoo! :D

I'm just now seeing this after looking up chandelure on your channel because I got a perfect one and didnt know if it'd be good. I also have a perfect shadow machamp so I guess now I just need to find a togekiss for when the premier classic is back up!

This is what happens when people can't be creative with their team comps. I NEVER purposely copied any popular team comps as I always enjoyed building my own teams. I have been fortunate enough too hit legend 3 times out of the 5 seasons ive been playing gbl. Kudos too this guy for exploiting it! Use your own teams! Be your own boss!

If the teams been working (and you haven't been seeing chandelure), I'd keep it as is! Chandelure is typically a pretty rare mon to see

I worry that in open, chandelure gets outbulked even more than it does in premier. Just in terms of stat product, things like lugia just have SO much more bulk, that I could see this team struggling, personally

I always call Chandelure the alternative of Talonflame because of Incinerate and Flame Charge.

Why Incinerate instead Fire Spin? Fire Spin has better DPS and load CM faster
FS has 3.33 EPT, Incinerate has 4 - and they both do the same amount of DPT :)
^ what stopalcatraz said. Incinerate is better in pvp, whereas I believe you were looking at pve numbers. The stats do change :)

can anyone tell me how tf that first set was skillbased at all? (for all the prople saying that this game is oooh so much skilbased) just just hardcountered all 3 of the opponents for 4-5 matches in a row thats not skill at all thats pure luck.. imagine him runing into a mettagross lead with gyarados waterfall and a charmer well good luck i would say..
Although I agree with you about the lack of skill, i moreso submitted these battles just to show that running meta isnt what needs to be run, if you see an overwhelming amount of similar style teams, make a team that hard counters it, i feel like people feel the need to use teams they see content creators post but think outside the box! Hope this somewhat answers your question, i agree that this is me just hard countering teams over and over again but I still have yet to go negative in a set with the team so its clearly working haha
I'd say the skill with set 1 lies in identifying a common meta line and building a team to counter it. The battles themselves were pretty straight forward, but props to this battler for identifying a weakness in the meta and taking advantage!
