Id like to see like a wiring factory where they braid copper wire for high power, i saw it once it TV they make awesome huge braided copper belts with a winding machine it was insane
Strange Parts the first machine is a vacuum chamber which is used to remove air bubbles from silicone after mixing and before it cures/hardens. The other machines shown after with the gauges look like pressure Chambers, which are used for 1) curing silicone and 2) curing castings made with the silicone mold, also to prevent air bubbles.
The Microsoft surface top guy done a long live unplanned Facebook stream of where their Surface division works and where the prototypes are made. They have huge metal 3d printers that they said cost like $300,000 each and can print to the accuracy of a hair and in many many colours. He also showed off many other machines and the general process of how they rapidly prototype designs. It's crappy quality but it's a veryyyy interesting video if you like Strange Parts. Plus he chose a viewer at random and made them a desk name plate from their metal CNC machines and shipped it to them. It's about 30 mins long, all good though.
Yeah, I didn't realize who they were until we got there (since Sasha set everything up). Turns out a number of people I know work with them. They have a pretty good reputation for SLA in particular.
Im still amazed at that 24Hr turn around while more notorious companies like shapeways has a 4-22 day lead time, depending on the material. Absolutly outstanding.
I think it is possible in the future if the quality and complexity of printers will be high enough to print the high end quality stuffs that we won't go to buy gadgets and non-edible stuffs anymore but buy the license online and print athome or in a "gadget farm" or something in town. So you just pick a pair of nike shoes online, choose a colour and size than pay with paypal, after that you can pick it up somewhere near home or athome if you have the printer for it. And imagine what is the possibilities if the printers working with 2-3-4-etc wire of filaments and some of them magnetic some of them drive electricity.. a whole engine printing from the web.
@Bartholomew Horatio Brunel. Yes but long term is it sustainable. The factory was very welcoming and the equipment very high quality but the work areas very messy and badly maintained. Dirt and bits of paint and plastic everywhere. Eventually those contaminants will work their way into a project and mess things up. It's an unpleasant and unhealthy work space too. That difference may not seem like much but it makes a big difference for people coming to work every day if they don't care about the space.
Considering how easy it was in China to get all the parts to build a custom iPhone, I don't know if that's enough to get into foxconn lmao, they make a lot of things that couldn't be shown on camera
I used to work in Foxconn (IDPBG division) as an IT PM. One of my jobs was to show the clients (or namely, Apple) around in the assembly line. The security was really stringent and anyone wanted to see the assembly line needed to file an application beforehand.. One day I received a visiting application and was surprised when I saw the name of the applicant read as 'Tim Cook'.
Hey! I loved your new video! I think "small" factories like this one hold more appeal than visiting a foxconn factory, mainly because these are the kind of factories we will contact if we decide that we are crazy enought to do a kickstarter. Also, I'd love to see one of those fabled "hidden fortress" factory in a workshop that Bunny Hwang used to talk about. You know, the ones that decide they want to make a new phone/razor combination and they have all they need to make the product in the second floor (usually something to make the case, a circuit router, and a part placing machine) and maybe in 24/48 hours they made a small run batch enough to see if this kind of product will stick. IDK if they exist anymore but sure would love to see how such a self-contained production chain would work.
You should visit LCSC/EASYEDA/JLCPCB (Same companies) factory! They make PCBs for very cheap, and nice quality. They also sell many electronic components. And are situated in Shenzhen!
This is real dope shit! An American person, filming in China & Inspiring an Indian & the rest of the world! Scotty this is like long distance impact on young adults like me! Keep up the good work!
Lmao for you. You don't know shit about people or what they've been through. and yet, you assume what they have or what they enjoy. So much so for distanced Impact.
Try Audi factory in Ingolstadt, Germany. They do very nice factory tour for mere mortals. They normally have very strict rules on taking photos inside but they might do an exception for you.
The factory where they make the youtube play button rewards. Gonna be a challenge for sure, but you like challenges, so lets see if your up for the task. Keep vlogging!
I'm living in Germany and I was working 3 weeks in laser 3D factory FKM, laser 3D Machines will be upgraded every year so they can be fast and more funktion
It is possible for you to visit any kind of batteries factory??? Any kind, mobile phone, drone, li-po, li-ion batteries, it will be really interesting!!!
Yeeey nice vid again Scotty! Very recognizable :D Were there any other mysterious factories on the way up to that printshop? Some factories that might be interesting to visit: some place that prepares ABS pellets (for use in injection molding later) or acrylic sheet stock small electronics components (LEDs, resistors, caps etc) COB LED strip factory (lots of wirebonding! ;-) ) Mouldmaking facility (lots of EDM!) And ofcourse always welcome to visit our "factory" here - we are slowly ramping up our audiogear production :-)
Great suggestions, Stijn! Strange Parts may indeed need to come visit your little factory out in the Netherlands at some point - I'm sure people would love to see the kind of magic you create.
I would love to see a factory producing optical elements. Lenses and mirrors and such. I know there are even companies which produce custom designed lenses. Another awesome one would be a silicon chip factory.
These guys are awesome and I can personally recommend them. The quality of the parts is among the best I've seen using this technology, the prices are good and service is quick!
My School had a 3D printer and i was the only student in the whole school who ever used it/most used. I 3D printed so many projects for my A-Level Graphics Projects, so this video is very interesting for me :D
I got into 3d printing via Cody Wilson, Defense Distributed, and I work for 3M inc where we do a ton of 3d printing for products for our customers. I work in the supply chain team but we do a ton of engineering and production there. Fascinating field and great video!
I remember seeing on Top Gear that China has a large market for knock-off vehicles from popular car manufacturers. Seeing inside a vehicle plant like that would be really cool.
I'd really like to see more videos in factories like this. Factories that focus on prototyping and products that are accessible to people working on small to medium sized projects.
Or they simply don't know how to make a proper website. A simple Wordpress site on a $1/month host can handle a million daily visors with the right setup.
Solar cell factorys and some which cast liquid metals seems interesting. And maybe the construction site of magnet trains (if they are build in your area)?
The Lexcent guy was so cool, very friendly and willing to show you everything. I had the impression that most chinese business people were more reserved
NO WAY! I just went to that factory last week! here's how you know I was there.. When you walk up the stairs to the glass doors and enter, there's a plant to your right and below that plant.. is a robot. that robot caught my attention.. You walk down a hall and to your left are the SLA printers... I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE THERE! I WAS JUST IN THAT BUILDING above the car lot. That robot is about 30 inches tall.. with a round head.. CRAZY! Did you guys get taken at LouWo Train Station by the taxi drivers too? There's also a window next to where he cures the SLA after he washes it and blows it off in the back room, then he goes to this machine and cures it. I stood next to that window and looked out that window where there was a yellow building about 3 stories tall with an alley right between that 3d factory and the yellow building. I KNOW THESE GUYS! I'm blown away that I stumbled onto this video after I just left there. I live in Tulsa OK so the odds of finding this video are insane considering I wasn't looking for it.. How weird!
Robotics factory where they make parts or entire robots. The kind the fly, walk, are stationary, use wheels or treads, the kind that hover over the ground or water, the kind that float on water or swim through it, the kind that can climb walls or glass panes, etc.
Well, for a large part, show us what You want to see. Use 'us', your channel, as an excuse to go see and explore or develope whatever You want. Remember you, by chance, are the eyes on the ground for a Lot of guys exactly like you that somehow happened not to be in that part of the world right now. I (as some dude that at least used to be able to 'built' from parts his own pc in the late 90's and first decade of the 2000's but kniw jack sh*t about the innerds of a mobile phone) actually learned a lot about how modern electronics work and how to tweak or even built them from your iphoneheadsetjack film. I can imagine younger generations (i.e. me if born 20 years later) could watch it as a story-like crashcourse to enter an electronics career. Your tone of voice/view are already very pleasant to watch witch is totally unique in electronics vid land. Also very nice to see Chinese business and its opportunities for all parties. Really enjoying your work. Maybe I'd like to see a bit of (while continuing your Shenzhen etc focus) trying to achieve something as a westerner in far less show world like Mega City Chongqing. That might be intrested. And very cool from your perspective.
I think you should show the textile factories and talk about what has been done recently to reduce pollution. A lot of families lost their jobs, but from the outside, it seems that they agree it was necessary. Thanks for what you do to bring so much information to the western world.
Scotty, I don't know what to say. I've never been more interested in this kind of technology than I am now. I've never seen inside a factory like this before. This is amazing! Please, keep showing us the world through your eyes. :D
I'd like to see more 3D printing or additive manufacturing techniques, what materials they use, and production techniques they do for prototyping. It might not only from plastic and it could be from metal-based materials as well. Great stuff... keep the good work.
Are there any silicon fabs out there? I’d love to see inside a chinese one. I’d also like to see a factory that makes relays or motors to see the coil production process.
you missed the part where he explained why they could do that, they have special lights in the room that don't emit UV light. That way they can open them without hardening the resin.
You were asking for ideas of factories to visit, so here is one for you. I would like to see the Chinese factory where they produce the small lathes sold by various distributors in the US. These would be lathes like the ubiquitous 9x19 and 7 inch mini lathes sold by outlets like Harbor Freight, Grizzly Tools, etc.
Build other smart phones like Huawei P20 Pro twilight with same or better specs... Try also to build a HP Elite x3 with same or better specs. Please...
Not much to see. Some picknplace machines, reflow soldering, testing, boxing. All the electronics factories look very similar. You see one, you've seen all (well, depending on size, smaller ones, like the factory in this video are usually really dirty, bigger ones are often spotless clean)
Don't worry it's well hidden in the basement behind some 3D printers. China is so advanced that they're printing new 3D printers with older 3D printers... soon they'll be 3D printing 3D videos for UA-cam3D.... Tsk-Tsk
Hi Scotty GREAT video been a sub since your first video and watched them all!, Could you try see an electric car factory or a factory that make's the battery cells for electric cars or even phones for that matter! I do a channel about Electric cars so stuff like that is of great interest to me. Other idea's solar PV factory as i know China are big on that now.
Those are made by Bandai in Japan. And there are videos of it on youtube: ua-cam.com/video/yVHI7nKMqlE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/DHbeasVraf4/v-deo.html There are other model kit makers who's production plants are in China and it would be interesting to compare, but it seems like this channel is dedicated to electronics prototyping.
Seems like really cool people! I spent a year in Korea, I miss those days. I could walk down to the ville and get dang near anything I wanted at a low price.

SSMART some years ago they used to say Chinese people go spying abroad. Now it is the other way round.
Guys, I think we broke the Lexcent website. Oops...
Edit: Looks like Leo managed to fix it.
Oof
ups!
What??
That's why it isn't loading!!
You should give a Squarespace promo hosting for every factory site you visit! hehehehehehehehehee
You should go to a metal 3d printing factory when they come about. That'll be super crazy
I've actually been to one, before I started Strange Parts. It was totally badass. I wonder if I still have their contact info...
Strange Parts yeah I've been looking into getting small parts cnc milled out of aluminium, would be awesome to see
The Microsoft surface top guy done a long live unplanned Facebook stream of where their Surface division works and where the prototypes are made. this is it. It's actually 50 mins.
Ben W do you have a link for that vid?
3d printing related content? YES! that factory looked neat, I will definitely keep them in mind.
Would love to see a factory of coaxconnector and for shrink tubing
I hoped to see you
If you can do 24 hour turn around on a parts order when needing to use SLA, that's just plain amazing.
The owner of this 3D printing lab was very forward thinking.
*In the future,* there will be 3D printing labs like that one in every major town.
this depends. more and more people get 3d printers in their own house.
Today, I have an FDM 3D printing factory in Reading, England :)
thats amazing tho

props to the gentleman running this factory
Why not foxconn!?
"Dear Sir, dear Madam,
I built my own iPhone

"send from an samsung-tablet"
Considering how easy it was in China to get all the parts to build a custom iPhone, I don't know if that's enough to get into foxconn lmao, they make a lot of things that couldn't be shown on camera

Wei Ou Wait, you almost met Tim Cook?
A Lithium-ion cell factory would be cool, or a PCB factory
leon buck ive seen part of pcb making and its so fucking messy even here in EU, china will be messier😂
Panasonic boiiii
you mean PanasaniG
jk thats a knockoff brand
I’d love to see a Chinese CNC shop! Lots of great Chinese CNC machinists out there making great unique products.
I agree with that. CNC factory would be cool to visit.

A factory tour of BYD, a ride on their Skyrail, and an interview with their design director, Wolfgang Egger.
ohh who is wofgang Egger, is he in Chongqing ?

Nikhil Kudale Pathetically Lame
Rishabh Purohit ya it's lame for people like you who still live off their dad's money lmao
Ahahaha Rishabh Purohit is getting buuuurn

Not what I expected what Sasha would look like.
Anyone else?
Anup Pandey Exactly. We both think alike
Try Audi factory in Ingolstadt, Germany. They do very nice factory tour for mere mortals. They normally have very strict rules on taking photos inside but they might do an exception for you.
Connor McGreggor is now into 3d printing. Very nice and informative factory tour.
I love seeing these videos man. Keep it up. 👍
Tech Thusiast you also have a great channel.
The factory where they make the youtube play button rewards.
Gonna be a challenge for sure, but you like challenges, so lets see if your up for the task.

Serpentza tried to get in to see it but they wouldn't let him in to do a tour.
ua-cam.com/video/4EL4xBxc5IA/v-deo.html
UA-cam play buttons are made by one of the factories of Golden Tiger Hardware Industrial CO., LTD in Dongguan China.
Sasha said: "Somebody hooked me up with Max" . That somebody would be me 😎
Henk Werner hook up like they dating ?
Your worse enemy 😂 No, not dating. Sasha needed a supplier and I advised Max to him.
Henk Werner max to advertise her business
Your worse enemy Good people deserve good business 😎
Henk Werner well then they should all advertise yours mate. Hey everyone, go visit Henk at Trouble Maker in Shenzhen!
My School had a 3D printer and i was the only student in the whole school who ever used it/most used. I 3D printed so many projects for my A-Level Graphics Projects, so this video is very interesting for me :D
Sinbad That's cool that you took advantage of that, many schools don't have them.
Sinbad iii
I m the only person in school who has a 3d printer actually 2 printers even the 3d printing teachers in our school ark me about things lol
Sinbad here in my university you have to wait for a week to get your model printed cuz a lot students are using it.
I got into 3d printing via Cody Wilson, Defense Distributed, and I work for 3M inc where we do a ton of 3d printing for products for our customers. I work in the supply chain team but we do a ton of engineering and production there. Fascinating field and great video!
Dude, multiple RC airplane factories are worth visiting, lots of cool stuff there, foam to composite, fascinating stuff.
One of the few channels that I have the bell on. No matter the video I love it! Thanks!!
Definitely cell phone factory! Loved that!
I think you just crashed their website :O
More factory tours please. Do any and every factory they will let you look around.
Loved the PCB factory.
Good work
I know this is a year later, but I thought this was a great video. Really appreciate getting a glimpse at this sort of micro reality of manufacturing!
A "drone" factory :)
Bringamosa i
?
you mean DJI......
Nah DJI is one of those big companies. There a a LOT of Chinese drones around these days, so just a drone factory. If that actually exists.
here is the link ua-cam.com/video/jHRb5OkN2E4/v-deo.html
I think Lexcent's site got an internet hug of death.
yes.. too many traffic after this video has been uploaded...

I'd really like to see more videos in factories like this. Factories that focus on prototyping and products that are accessible to people working on small to medium sized projects.
Sasha should be a permanent co-host for the episodes in china !!
lexcent Website is "in trouble becuase of the number of people you are visiting now." Seems like this was pretty good advertisement for them XD
Or they simply don't know how to make a proper website. A simple Wordpress site on a $1/month host can handle a million daily visors with the right setup.
C00ltronix so it seems like DDos attacked by 344+ haters lol
1:54 when you got your side chick at office and camera rocks up
VR headsets factory. Drone / quadcopter factory.
Your channel is heaven for tech geeks!
excellent video, very nice to see the boss talk English. Very nice of them to let you visit. 👍🏻😊🇬🇧
Can we see a camera facility that makes the lenses and the sensors specifically?
Solar cell factorys and some which cast liquid metals seems interesting.
And maybe the construction site of magnet trains (if they are build in your area)?
A guitar factory in China would be amazing,
everything facory could been find in china, some is good , some are bad, that depend him to go which
Yes gonna purchase one from wish.com hope it would be fine
I used to do that job with the molding and SLA parts at a prototype company. Loved working there it was WILD
The Lexcent guy was so cool, very friendly and willing to show you everything. I had the impression that most chinese business people were more reserved

This was Gold! Upvoted! Thanks for doing this video bud! Much appreciated!
Great as always.
I'd like to see semiconductor factories or semiconductor fabless companies.
Keep it up :-)
Hello Bro, Could you find a good solar Panel company, inverter, and Battery like tesla...
Thanks.

I'd love to see some cheap McDonald like toy factories. Thank you for making these great videos
Display production AMOLED(LED, amoled might not be possible vs IPS)
Ahmed Hissan, This would be wonderful, but any kind of screen would be really cool.
Mate all of them ! What ever crosses your way, love the videos !
And people wonder WHY China IS Leading Edge!!!! Nice Video, Thanks so much,#lexcent and Shasha!!!
This might sound so naive but … how is it that we get to visit a factory … could we just walk in and try asking the manager …?
IKR...
nice content. you should upload more on this topic
Maybe try getting into some Xiaomi factory. Thanks for video!
Great tour and great and friendly interview! Good ambassador and great showcase of humans at their cooperative best.

They dont have that automated? :D
Every bulb is cooled and pumped individual byh and? :D
I think opening the SLA printer when it was printing was not a good idea...
you missed the part where he explained why they could do that, they have special lights in the room that don't emit UV light. That way they can open them without hardening the resin.
@@RedBeard20842 oh sorry, I was watching the video muted...
Love to see how an OLED screen is made.Awesome video and thanks for sharing once again. Big ups from New Zealand
thanks for exploring. thanks for coming all the way to China. appreciated.
Xiao Mi factory would be great!
A lithium-ion battery factory. preferably 18650 cells
Yeah I was thinking the same and there is this Delong Co. that might be interesting.
Please show Xiaomi factory !!!!
"Shaaaooow me da Xiaomi!"
it is in forconn sir,

Visit Huawei factory
... and destroy it!
Build other smart phones like Huawei P20 Pro twilight with same or better specs...
Try also to build a HP Elite x3 with same or better specs.
Please...
A headphone 🎧 factory.

Tsk-Tsk
