R2 Digital X Rays

- Some test images of making digital X-rays using a Chinese R2 sensor, this version was sold by Refine dental but I believe the sensor is sold under various brand names, unlike developing film or photographing a phosphoscreen in a dark room, this sensor immediately takes a digital image via USB where the X-ray can then be altered in contrast, colour etc.
I plan on using this in the future to take X-rays of gas mask components and electronics.

Impressive! There's a lot of resolution and contrast in these pics, certainly more than what's possible on X-ray films I think.
Yeah the main thing for me is it's much easier to see if you get a good result, no developing etc, same advantage of digital cameras over film, instant results. Supposedly these sensors are meant to be able to take about 5000 X-rays before the image quality starts to degrade.

Never got my hand on any type of phosphor screen. But it's really cool, and... expensive.

Neat technology. I like to look at human technology through the eyes of an alien, and I think circuitboards and computer technology would be pretty impressive, that was neat to look at. But it's funny how humans usually assume aliens have more advanced technology than us at this point. For all we know, they could just be a bunch of weird creatures with basic animal intelligence.
Yeah or just plants or germs on another planet.
