Very impressive presentation of an apRachalit variant of Malhar raag! I was intrigued by the phrase in the Notes: "the rain-bringing Raag." Usually one reads, " rainy season raag," "monsoon raga," etc. Here the raag is envisioned as a "rain bringing" raag either pointing to its magical ability or its being a prayer for rain in a hot season. In my private conceptual world, I believe that music can have an effect on physical reality. I admit I cannot prove this in an experiment. I do not want to go into details, but just note that raaga-s need not be just descriptive of a situation but actually can change situations. The rationalists will see this as just superstition, but even they cannot deny the fact that music has psychological effects, and more recently proof has emerged that neurobiological changes have been observed at the experimental level. Dhanyavaad for writing that phrase and for the singing!
