I've heard the new album, this is one of the best songs on there. I like it. Tommy Thayer did a great job. Nobody can really blame him for being in KISS wearing the makeup. Anyone would have done it if given the opportunity.
This album TOTALLY ROCKS .. there's not a bad track on there and it just continues to grow the more often you hear it. Paul's production is huge .... the sound of each instrument is massive. Tommy and Eric have also now carved their own niches in classic KISStory ... The lead guitar work is smoking all the way through .... Tommy you need to be interviewed by all the guitar magazines and be up there with the best. And no, Gene is not paying me to say that!!! ;-)
IKR?! Or on the current Tour! I just saw them 2 nights ago, absolutely fantastic! But the one thing that made me super sad is Tommy didn't get to sing at all! I was SOO Sad Tommy's one of my favorite voices in KISS
KISS is bigger than any individual member including former members. This is one of their best ever albums. This line-up rocks. I've got a copy of both Sonic Boom & Anomaly . I'll be seeing Ace soon on his Australian tour & when KISS come back I'll see them as well.
His voice actually kind of cool sounding and these guitar riffs are really catchy. The people that rag on this album and Monster don't have an ear for Rock And Roll. Rock And Roll is just another word for fun, and this whole album is fun, it makes you snap your fingers and tap your feet.
Tommy Rocks!!! I saw KISS in Quebec City, Canada this summer...We were 90,000!!! It was the second biggest crowd of there carrere just after Rio in 1982!! The band was tight as HELL!!!! KSS STILL ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Read this from Wikipedia When Ace Frehley left Kiss in 2002, Thayer was the band's choice to replace Frehley. Kiss wanted to retain the classic look of the original lineup and chose Thayer to don Frehley's "Spaceman" makeup. He is playing a character not posing. There is a difference. It's like saying Christian Bale is posing as Batman. Bottom line, Tommy Thayer is out playing rock & roll every night while u sit at your computer calling me retarded.
They played this on sportscenter last night it was cool and I LOVE the new album, I have listened to it a dozen times and it doesn't get old, ALSO I like most the re-done kiss songs that came with it...
Mr_Pass Absolutely! Listen to the title track Trouble Walkin' by Frehley's Comet and then listen to this song, I don't think it's a coincidence, as cynical as it may sound haha.
@@JonathanWallin95 and @Mr_Pass -- Well, first listen to: "Lay It Down" by Slade, then listen to "Calling Dr. Love" by KISS, then listen to "Shake Me" by Cinderella, then listen to "Trouble Walkin' by Ace Frehley, then listen to "When Lightning Strikes" by KISS, so you can get your history straight...
Je connaissais bien les LP'S de 75 à 83. Il y a quelques mois j'ai découvert "sonic boom " et alors là tout les albums des années 90 /2000 sont chez moi. Damned surtout ne pas passer à côté.
If You guys are really KISS fans you would like every line up of KISS not just play favorites all the time. I am a really KISS fan and I love every line up with or without Ace and Peter!!!
Tommy proves his worth on this album thank you very much, and this is a great track, so keep your sad pathetic negativity to yourself, and go and listen to something that you do like.
This is almost like a tribute to ACE.....Great song! This album will Rock!...Check out Aces CD Outer Space it great. KISS.........Thank You Paul Stanley for putting this together!
If this was Ace singing this bad ass song people would be saying it's the best song on the album but because Tommy singing it they won't give it as much praise truth is it's one of the best songs on the album
Kiss is all about enjoy life! U got 2 choose...miserable , negative or happy and live life to the fullest and take a shot to succeed.I love Ace -I love Kiss. Who wants to be a grumpy old man!!!?
More power to Peter, Ace & KISS w/Eric & Tommy! I just want some good Rock n Roll! I'm having too much fun to whine like a baby or give a shit what anyone thinks or who's wearing the make-up. I have Ace's album --some tunes I like, some I love, some I don't. I'm really glad he's finally sober. Sonic Boom coming out makes me feel like I'm 12 again! It sounds AMAZING & I'm not going to cat fight like a school girl over it, you ladies have at it... Me?!! I'll just turn the music up!
It kills me how many people just can't be pleased with anything anymore. If some of you people who hate this music, make your own. Until then, go away.
A great track from a great album. The only track that just hasn't grown on me is 'Say Yeah', but maybe the extra crunch from CD quality sound will make a difference.
I couldn't agree more with everything you said. If there was no Eric and Tommy, there likely wouldn't be a KISS anymore. Tommy kicks ass on this song, BTW. Eric's song (IMO) is probably right up there with MDD as the best song on Sonic Boom. Six more days!!!
I agree. This song sounds like "One Vision". I find some songs in this CD sound like other bands or even other KISS albums. I miss the days when KISS sound was very different to other bands.
Look, roman has a point that it has a LEEETLE resemblance to "Trouble Walkin'" but ultimately it's not. And "Trouble" is ripped off every single gappy song, including "Calling Dr. Love" and Slade's "Lay It Down." So everyone just relax up in this mofo... All you guys know that we can all like BOTH songs, right?
Everytime I watched "The Avengers" I thought this would be good intro music for Thor. And why doesn't Tommy Thayer sing this live instead of Shock Me !?!?! He's writing good stuff with them he should be doing it !!!!
Holy shit if you listen to Ace Freheley Trouble walking which came out years ago this song When Lightning Strikes is almost identicle now listen for ya self a hell of a lot of similarity.
I agree - but Billy Crystal once said (regarding Oscar Hosting), "Eventually, you pull every trick out of your bag and you're reaching back to when you were 5 or 6." Not his exact words, but the idea is...they've released how many songs? More than 300? That's an impressive body of work that, really, only Mozart, Shakespeare, and Stephen Kng have topped.
Ace has his own Idea of what stardom means its just too bad it is not with Kiss besides alot of his album work was not him. Eric Carr is a legend that no one can top We all miss him
Can someone please tell me which song that guitar riff resembles? I'm pretty sure it's a 70's tune. I'm referring to the very beginning of the riff that runs through the first part of the verse.
Oh..build a bridge & get over it!! It's so old news now. Move on..enjoy KISS! This song is AWESOME! Tommy & Eric are cool guys & they rock!! PS Remember Ace & Peter gave up their rights to the make-up...they could have refused! ..oh I'm not a newbie..almost 50 years old...and been a KISS fan since the mid 70's
Great song! Having multiple lead singers has enabled Kiss to make 19 studio albums of new material that don't sound tiring. Yeah, they borrow some sounds from past Kiss songs, and even borrow a chorus from Poison, but with four different lead vocals they still manage to sound fresh. Can anyone name a band that did 19 studio albums and still had a fan base this big?
I am totally agree with you, holymackeral456. To me KISS is what KISS is today. This line-up is the ultimate for me. I don't want Ace or Peter back at all! "Sonic Boom" is leages better than "Psycho Circus". Hope they will record a lot more albums with the current line-up!!!
amen,I TOTALLLLLY AGREE!!! im tired of ace freaks putting down Paul and Gene for keeping the band alive.Ace has had 25 years to do his own thing.Thats enough time for any real artist to establish himself in the biz.He didnt,so get over it.Soon ,,after the hype is over.maybe they will let Tommy just be himself on the next album, and play his style, and youll see just how good he really is.Playing like ace and wearing aces costume,is just to show the new fans what the old shows looked like.
Ace and Peter should be happy that "their" identities (why didn't they hold on to the ownership of them?) are still being kept alive by far better musicians. I think Ace is great, but his new album blows absolute chunks.
@holymackeral456 thats all well and good, but the sheer fact is Tommy and Eric are coat hangers filling an empty place onstage. Nobody denies that they are great musicians but KISS have never lived or died on musicial ability. That was Kulicks main criticism when he joined the band. The fact is KISS continue to use makeup created by them and sell merchandise with Ace and Peter on it. If they are so unimportant to the current bands history, why are they still featured ahead of the current lineup?
The whole damn album rocks.Kiss should be playing all of these tunes live
Great vocals, to me Tommy's voice is a combination between gene's raspy voice and ace's higher pitched voice cause he can hit the high notes.
dude when I first heard the song I thought Gene was singing it
@@Catholic17 I agree
One of my fave songs from this album :D
It's Refreshing To Hear A Band With Multiple Lead Singers.
I've heard the new album, this is one of the best songs on there. I like it. Tommy Thayer did a great job. Nobody can really blame him for being in KISS wearing the makeup. Anyone would have done it if given the opportunity.

Favorite song on the album along with Say Yeah. Still wish they would of played it live on the SB tour.

This song is totally rad. Tommy couldn't have done a better job.
Agreed! Mr. Thayer *ROCKS* !!!!
Whata great song classics sounding KISS! Another FANTASTIC guitarist from the planet Jendell ! Space Tom.
Don't forget that Kiss replacement guy who painted a wrench on his face and called himself "The Plumber". He kicked ass too.
This album does kick ass! KISS' best in a LONG time!

This is a great song! Good vocals, harmonies, and guitar work by Ace Thayer
Monstertime It's Tommy Thayer.
I really like this album . I love too hits from 80´s 90´s.
But this album is great !!

My favorite song off the cd- I love this one ^_^ And Tommy's voice is awesome!
I love this song.... And i love KISS
Awesome song, from the best KISS album!
Great song. It had kind of the 70's KISS feel to it. One of the best I've heard from Sonic Boom imo. Great job Tommy.
Wow Tommy is an excellent singer!!! Good song. He does sound alittle like Alice Cooper. Good song!!!
I like that Cowbell!!! This album is using a lot of Cowbell!!
Not gonna lie this sounds like an Ace song.
Mr_Pass Absolutely! Listen to the title track Trouble Walkin' by Frehley's Comet and then listen to this song, I don't think it's a coincidence, as cynical as it may sound haha.

Gonna go buy it tomorrow. I've tracked it enough on here to know its great. Definitely a throw back to the late 70's. Thayer NAILS Frehley.
Yeah! Kiss come back with this Hammer Album! You wanted the best! You get the best! ...Rock on!
Great song Tommy
Exactly! When i heard this song the first time I started to sing trouble walkin in my head

Thanks! You are exactly right! Good memory! It was gnawing at me all day while I tried to remember the song.
Can't wait to hear this played live, and hope Tommy incorporates his big solo into this song.
One of the very best on the new album for sure.
The riff during the verses remind me of Head East's "Never Been Any Reason"---I'm actually impressed. This is good!
How interesting to see Paul and Ace producing Sonic Boom and Anomaly.
Just like Ace's Shock Me, this song is now Tommy's signature song.
Tommy Thayer is like really doing better than Ace with Kiss. I can't wait to see this song played live! Hopefully they will tour Sonic Boom next Year.
Such a great song.

I have to agree that he sounds more like Gene than Ace. If there's one area that Tommy has an edge over Ace, it's the singing part.
The intro sounds like Speed of Light - Iron Maiden, so cool!!
if you think about it, it also sounds like a modified version of Shock Me/Calling Dr Love
@Zimri52 i really like this song. I have the greatest hits from the 90's (i think) my dad had it. A friend gave me this album and i like it a lot
More power to Peter, Ace & KISS w/Eric & Tommy!

Best solo and singing on the album.
LOVE THIS SONG! KISS FAN FOREVER!
I got a fever.. and the only cure is more cowbell!
i loved this song................., when ace frehly wrote it as trouble walking
This isn't even close to Trouble Walkin. Trouble Walkin was more of a rip off of Free's All Right Now
I love the songs you wrote in your band. Oh, wait. You have neither.

ESPN is playing this for the NFL plus others from sonic boom,KISS!! ROCKS u cant deny.
I think it'll make a big difference as the tracks won't have been compressed to death. The audio should really 'open up'.

this sounds like a classic Kiss song something that Ace might sing if he was still in the group
That’s because Tommy was taught to mimic Ace. As simple as that. No originality, copying his play style and tempo.
I like this!
2017 anyone?
This is a great track...but I coulda used a little more cowbell.
I like that Cowbell in da song!!!
This is so Def Leppard-High &DRY in the intro
