    Would it be possible for you to do a tech episode/story on the rising number of custom rear derailleur hangers [see 2:05] that are being used by various team (EF, Ineos, Jumbo-Visma, and so on). These are incredibly interesting and surely beneficial for larger cassettes, shifting, etc. This would be a great feature (and where to order them).

      I hope there will always be the option between Disc and Rim. For me, Rim is king as it keeps us all close yester-year. that said, I want those that desire Discs to have them -- hence my ask that we continue to see the option (though I am not holding my breath).

    • @ChromeStrand
      @ChromeStrand 5 років тому

      Xr4 isn't exactly a lightweight frame. mines are 7kg with Dura-ace 9150 di2 as well. I think that's still lighter than most Aero bikes out there(couple of new bike from 2019 can compete with XR4, and i think they became more like xr4 compare to their previous model, i'm watching you SWorks Venge 😉) and common weight range for XR4 i guess.

    • @jordanlouis2554
      @jordanlouis2554 5 років тому

      HJ Shoon agreed its pretty light. But at this elite level 200grams could be the difference of about 15 seconds up alpe d'huez. Could be using carbon cockpit to make it a bit lighter.

    • @RobBelanger
      @RobBelanger 5 років тому +1

      Fireroadie : probably using a y cable for the shifters upfront to the b junction and a similar for the front and rear mech. That would leave two holes in the b junction; one for the battery, the other to make it’s way up to the a junction box

    • @jordanlouis2554
      @jordanlouis2554 5 років тому +1

      Fireroadie : bit of soldering to pair the wires together up front or a Y wire with internal junction box. Linking to the whole system

    Wow, flabbergasted by the rim brake choice. What happened here GCN, why Lotto Jumbo Visma, Bahrain Merida, UAE Emirates, Lotto Soudal, Movistar, Ineos, Mitchelton Scott, AG2r La Mondiale, Education First, Groupama FDJ, Androni Giocattoli, CSF Bardiani, and many other second line teams choose rim brakes? Maybe they don't see GCN videos explaining disc brake advantages in a very sufficient way, using a disc brake bike sent to you by your sponsor. Or maybe disc brakes are rubbish in road racing? Please enlighten me.

      DISC IS A FOUR LETTER WORD
      Please review Longo Borghini crash in Stage 5 Giro D'Italia Donne Stage 5 & death of Gino Mader - 'went skidding off the road' and fell down a ravine; declared dead shortly after.......
      Disc brakes are extremely dangerous on road bikes because of their tendency to lock the wheel resulting in the rider losing control of the bike.
      If pro riders had the choice I suspect that very few would be riding disc bikes - there are so many crashes going on due to disc brake lockup.
