Would it be possible for you to do a tech episode/story on the rising number of custom rear derailleur hangers [see 2:05] that are being used by various team (EF, Ineos, Jumbo-Visma, and so on). These are incredibly interesting and surely beneficial for larger cassettes, shifting, etc. This would be a great feature (and where to order them).
I hope there will always be the option between Disc and Rim. For me, Rim is king as it keeps us all close yester-year. that said, I want those that desire Discs to have them -- hence my ask that we continue to see the option (though I am not holding my breath).
2:47 Is it me or those don't look like FSA compact bars? The one Roglic has looks more like a classic round shape with very shallow drops. I compared the shape with those on Nibali's bike and they look nothing like it.
It's 2019, and we're still talking about Shimano having junction boxes at all - for some reason. SRAM doesn't have junction boxes, so why does Shimano maintain such an old-school design?

HJ Shoon all the dura ace components. My xr4 weighs 7.0kg with ultegra but a lighter wheelset and bars. Im surprised he’s not going to the minimum of 6.8 tbh
Xr4 isn't exactly a lightweight frame. mines are 7kg with Dura-ace 9150 di2 as well. I think that's still lighter than most Aero bikes out there(couple of new bike from 2019 can compete with XR4, and i think they became more like xr4 compare to their previous model, i'm watching you SWorks Venge 😉) and common weight range for XR4 i guess.
HJ Shoon agreed its pretty light. But at this elite level 200grams could be the difference of about 15 seconds up alpe d'huez. Could be using carbon cockpit to make it a bit lighter.
If you weigh like a pro, go downhill like a pro and ride tubulars like a pro, there is no use for the 0.5Kg extra of disks brake. Maybe for riding Paris Roubaix or Strade Bianche on a rainy day...
But then, that makes the team way too Bianchi/Celeste forward. Team must have their own identity. And as a Bianchi rider myself, i don't go full celeste match with bike too.

What happened here GCN, why Lotto Jumbo Visma, Bahrain Merida, UAE Emirates, Lotto Soudal, Movistar, Ineos, Mitchelton Scott, AG2r La Mondiale, Education First, Groupama FDJ, Androni Giocattoli, CSF Bardiani, and many other second line teams choose rim brakes? Maybe they don't see GCN videos explaining disc brake advantages in a very sufficient way, using a disc brake bike sent to you by your sponsor. Or maybe disc brakes are rubbish in road racing? DISC IS A FOUR LETTER WORD Please review Longo Borghini crash in Stage 5 Giro D'Italia Donne Stage 5 & death of Gino Mader - 'went skidding off the road' and fell down a ravine; declared dead shortly after....... Disc brakes are extremely dangerous on road bikes because of their tendency to lock the wheel resulting in the rider losing control of the bike. If pro riders had the choice I suspect that very few would be riding disc bikes - there are so many crashes going on due to disc brake lockup.
i love a Bianchi but that 90s reminiscent cheap-looking Airbrushy kind of paintjob on the headtube doesn't do it for me. Looks like something off of a trucker's T-shirt.
I personally hard to understand why is the freehub sound check is the thing. There's a handful number of wheelset that pros using, in my head "hmm, it's the same wheel that spun a few weeks ago!"
Nah, Bianchi always have the ugliest custom painted frames. Like the special one they did for Japan a couple years ago, the graphics looks like something they copied and pasted from the first page of Google image search. Just doesn't blend with the celest. Poor design.
How would you rate Roglic's ride?
11 out of 10!

Wowzers 15 lbs is super light!!! So if the Oltre is light and absorbs the road noise it should be a killer bike!!
Interesting installation of the junction box there.. Genius!

What a beautiful bike and that paint job is amazing!! Love Bianchi, but they are soooo expensive......
Rim brakes not dead!
rims are faster in terms of pure performance (pro bikes), discs are much better in on everyday cyclist bikes though

I love the paintwork.
What a beautiful bike!
Mouthwatering bike.
Simon, nice that you can pronounce Roglic's last name correctly....unlike Sean Kelly who insists on butchering his name

That Bianchi is super beautiful, gorgeous, sexy and hyper nice! I love it!
Interesting, why he had swapped to normal bars from vision 5d he had before.
Did anyone notice the chipped off paint on the 'X' of the top tube. Ouch.
Adds more character 😄
You forgot to mention the Slovenian coat of arms.
*surprise* the pro rider choses rim over disc brakes because they’re lighter and more than sufficient
Direct mount ftw!
And i'm feeling good for that decision becoz i ride the same Oltre xr4 w/ rim brake. My Minty Python is still top notch!
@@leedorney i rate them on every day bikes are theyre much nicer to use but in terms of pure performance for pro bikes rims are faster

Good question! Suppose it depends on severity and frame damage, but it's interesting to see the fleet ready for Primoz eh?
I like the Aria but wouldn’t mind this one
Beautiful ride for a beautiful boy 😘 Paintwork is awesome, so proud of his roots and rightly so. Adorable 😍🚴🏻♥️
