You are such a great teacher! You always find a way to make things easy to explain and understand and I especially appreciate that you don’t sugarcoat things and you give praise when praise is due.

He huffed twice after realizing she had control of his feet, lol.

Yes as she started to control his feet his expression changed. She did a great job.

She did! Your UA-cam videos are such a great tool enabling young riders (and all of us) to review your advice, techniques, consistency, and to 'see what you see'. Thank you for your willingness to share. I know that takes up a lot of time.

Great video - so good to see the young lady learning how to work with her horse.

I wondered how that all worked. I thought you needed a pivo camera set up but this young lady had a camera person. Neat! She did good!

Wonder if a good rope halter would help provide them with more effective communication?
I love seeing the change in her understanding of what to do, and how her body language actually started to change. Initially, when she would go to circle him, he maybe thought he was driving her because she was backing away from him, essentially?
You can definitely see a shift when she starts to figure out that when she continues walking forward, rather than spinning around and facing him, things get smoother & the communication is more fluid.
    She did really, really well!

You pretty much answered your rope halter question later in your comment. In this situation the type of halter may make some minor improvement but the majority of the communication was from her body position. In general instead of telling a horse, or a child for that matter, "don't do that", I try to say, "do this instead". A rope halter would help stop the behavior we don't want but it's body position that communicates the movement that we do want.

This video was really helpful to me! Just bought a new horse that is pushy on the ground and needs more groundwork. Thank you for this!

    Thanks for sharing.
By doing this you teach the tools for the owner to use plus observe the progress of the horse.
Amazing all the way to Canada...
I hope many reach out for these virtual lessons.
    Enjoy your weekend
