I am born and bought up in king kothi and just so close to palace side .I know much about nizam history coz my mom and dad's wedding was arranged by nizam and beautiful house was given to my parents at that time . We are so greatful to his highness .
Very sad to see the state of palace. It should be restored by the Government. MY grandfather used to say that when food was cooked for Nizam in KK, they could smell in Chikkadpally.
Very tragic. The whole King Kothi complex should have been restored and maintained to its old Glory. It would be a tourist magnet and also heritage would have been preserved. Somewhere, India Govt and the State Govt have lost these invaluable treasures forever.

The Islamic rulers too spent big on mighty palaces, forts, Idgahs, Maqbaras, mosques, and memorials. Well done Aamer its exactly what i would always say and write save our glorious past it will be a wonderful tourist attraction and build the economy of Hyderabad.......I never had a chance to go in after athe age of 6or 7.....my grandma used to work there as a nurse to one of the ladies.....this time when i come i so much want to see the remaing two that stand now we will never know when they will bring it down......

Salamalikum WRWB, Aamer. I am a great grandson of Mahomed Kamal Khan (correct full name of Kamal Khan). Zaroor un Nisa Begum was the only child of MKK. She named her first child, my father, Mohammad Kamal Khan after her father. I would like to correct some mistakes in your narrative as follows: 1. He was not an architect 2. The Nizam did not pay a single anna for Nazli Bagh. It was gifted to him by my great grandfather KK, as he is commonly referred to. It is a fact of history that when Osman Ali Khan became the 7th Nizam Hyderabad was bankrupt, the treasury was empty. How could he have paid three times it’s worth with no money in the treasury? 3. Osman Ali Khan lived upto his death in the Nazri Bagh behind the Purdah Gate. That he lived and slept in Osman Mansion is absolutely wrong. In the 60’s as a very young child I remember seeing him seated on his “Aaram Kursi” in a daalan of Nazri Bagh and the side that you mention as Osman Mansion had the Tosha Khana from where meals were made and sent out to the Khanazaad. 4. He inherited a lot of land from his grandfather and father and his main business was diamonds. You must be aware the Golconda mines, at one time, were the only diamond mines in the world. He used to take rough diamonds to Antwerp, Belgium to get them cut and polished before selling them. The famous Jacob Diamond was sold by him to Mehboob Ali Pasha, the 6th Nizam. 5. During his travels to Europe he was amazed by the manors of the nobility and he liked one of the manors there that he had its architect make the same design/plans for Nazri Bagh and also instructed him to make the KK crest that is seen everywhere in it. Please correct these mistakes if and when you make another video on the history of King Kothi. Yes, it is true the Nizam was irked to be reminded by the KK crest that Kamal Khan was the real owner of the palace. Hence, the name change of Nazri Bagh to King’s Kothi which later came to be known as “Kingkoti” in common parlance.
