2024 going to be a massive year if things work out:
    Return of Thor and Martins
Mitch and Wide Pavlo with experience
Tom, Oleksii, and Trey still in prime
    Mattuesz back in stride
The depth of championship caliber athletes should be crazy. Rogue should start planning now for a record breaking prize purse to ensure everyone peaks for their show that year.

Rogue only has 10 athletes 1 of which are the winner of the amateur.
How do you narrow it down to 9 athletes? Thor, novikov, Tom, Mitch Hooper, Martin's, mateusz and pavlo have to be locks right? That's 7. How do you decide 2 more from Mitchell, Thompson, Luke s, Boudreault, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Plus any others who surprise us this year. Even better would be if Shaw wanted to make 1 last appearance at Arnold's like he's doing with WSM this year.
If they're all healthy that's a tough decision to make.

I believe his previous total was also only done with around 6 weeks notice. Also, if he has Seb Oreb onboard again that'll will be a big factor. just pure hypothetically (for fun) if Thor would hit his PB on each of three events, he would go over 1200 kg (501+460+250) :) Dan's bench press was not that big of the margin over Thor's PB at that comp. Thor's 1100 kg was probably when he didn't train so much for bench press as it is the one lift that doesn't translate so much to strongman events as the other two or other exercise. Of course Dan's squat was impressive 500 kg (still record I think?). But record for bench press is over 80 kg of his lift and Thor showed he can massively improve his strength. Again, hypothetically, if Thor can get his bench press PB up meager 25 kg and do 475 dead lift and 440 squat which is IMHO in his reach, he well surpass the record :)
But said all that, I want to see him back in strongman and lighter to see what he can do.

With the improved respiratory and cardio performance his work capacity will be even greater. The Bench trives on high volume work and he will be able to sustain that. Thor legs are huge as it is now he will end up with some huge huge legs and this Squat will go big! As for deadlift we all know he knows how to do it. Will Thor beat the record right away? Am I the only one who thinks that losing all that weight and consequently strength for one big circus fight was kind of a waste? I mean as impressive as it is how he could actually get in a fighters shape and even acquire decent boxing skills in such a short time period, Thor would have been able to build a massive legacy in Strongman in the meanwhile, but wasted a couple of his prime years instead. I mean, it's clear as day that Thor could never be an elite level boxer, you're not going to be able to switch to a totally different sport in your 30s and be competitive at the highest level, it just doesn't happen, so was it rly worth it all for one big drama show with Eddie Hall?

It'd be really awesome to see him break the ATWR in powerlifting as if I remember correctly there always was this what if a few years ago where what would happen if a strongman focused on powerlifting. I do agree Thor's bench is not gonna be as high as Dan's but I'm predicting big numbers in both the squat and deadlift to make up the difference. Imagine the scenes if he gets a 500kg squat. Unlikely, but his 460 back then seemed like a rpe8 so you never know.

Hmm why is he allowed on Arnold Strongmen classic even though he had do in strongmen competition for years ???
And all his talk about getting slimmer and more healthy boxing just to be bulking again few years after... Likely because there is no money to make in boxing...
Personally I just hope he will fail, which is all he deserves ...
But then he is still big and relatively young.
Bottom line he should not be doing it's first strongman competition back from boxing in Arnold Strongmen.
    But again money talks!

Okay, but how heavy was Dan Bell when he set the record? How much did he weigh? Cause if Thor breaks the record, but he's gonna be 20 kilos heavier, then it's not gonna be that impressive. He would have to smash the record, not just break it by a little bit, by like 1 kilo like Eddie's deadlift. He has to stay at a respectable weight. Cause he can carry a ton of weight being '6'9 and having a huge frame. Pound for pound we'll see what he can do.
