Astros fan here. I hope he's a better player for you. You will find out real quickly that he's not big RBI player, he tends to leave a lot of players on base, with weak popups and groundouts. If he could've hit above 300 for a season, he would've had easily 50+ more RBI's. If you can compact his swing, he could become a real good player. He's an above outfielder with speed, decent arm, the only thing that's holding him back was his subpar hitting with players on base. You may think i'm talking smack, but you'll find out soon enough.
Love ya Jed, as of 0:17 we have 49mil Cubs can spend and stay under threshold. We need to spend it well. Vets who can pair up and help the youth as well as a Good Closer. Proven. That's 20mil per there. The other 29, could do some really big things.
Jed’s first move was nontender Kyle Schwarber. Pretty much sums up Jed’s philosophy. Picked up someone slightly better than Belli but gave away Belli and a starting 3B. We have the exact same .500 team again
Could Tailion and his 17mil per be traded for good prospects, Bullpen help if Nico is traded for a SP? Assad should stay in the rotation. Ben Brown I think can be Elite in the Bullpen. Wicks I think can be good. Little can be Elite as well. Wicks has more value as a LH SP of his age tho. At that point you could sign anyone your salary would be so low. Scott+Bergman Np.
Time for Jed and many front office people on mediocre teams realize the offensive stats the last month mean nothing for a team who had their season fade already... what were all these stats 2 weeks after tbe trade deadline, then extrapolate those out for much more realistic judgment of a hitter's real value that season... alot of cluelessness out there amongst front office people
extending Tucker is what everyone wants to talk about dude damn Bozo ... simply just say we would not have acquired him if we didn't think we can give him a competitive offer in free agency ... if he looses his job I don't think anyone would care tbh
Lets get Bauer too!!! Everyone needs a second chance and that guy is a beast of a pitcher. Seems to have learned his lesson and would certainly help this organization a ton for the league minimum. Give him a chance... Our teams needs such a bargain and it would be a great story for MLB and the Cubs.
This looks like an effort to change the team. The CUBS HAVe plenty of outfielders. Homer traded Belanger to move money. Cubs need help with the pitching staff. Both starters and relievers. I think they hurt the team by trading Belanger. Jen Hoyer needs to be fired. The team was struggling early last season. He sat on his hands and did nothing. This is someone that is waiting for the trade deadline to trade key players away. Like what happen previously in 2022. This s the worse GM IN HISTORY
Less injury prone and better stats. He's an upgrade overall. The stats are there for anyone to see. Tucker has the one of the highest AB/HR in the league. Also a GG outfielder as well. Belli won a GG but at 1B.
Not the best guy on his feet and pretty obvious. Do you think Busch can play 3rd base? Uh.....I think he's a first baseman, uh. We are asking the question because Cody is playing first base with the line up as it is. He's better than Busch. You can say he's awesome. He's good, he is ok. He's not gonna win a gold glove over there. What Cubs fans want to know is ARE you going to move him to 3rd base with Cody at first base. Yes, you want to get rid of guys to create room for AAA guys, known as prospects. That's fine. As it stands, the Cubs have a choice of Busch or Shaw at 3rd base. Period. Shaw is the choice to be a Ben Z possibility and move around if Busch can play 3rd or are you going to trade Belli AND eat half his salary? Which would be really stupid. If the Yankees want him? They pay for him. Cubs are way better with Busch, Belli, Shaw, Nico, ON the roster. Go out and spend ten bucks and get an ace named Trevor Bauer. You need an ace. You don't have an ace. Get Sazaki too.
@@johnlenon8872its a crowded outfield and bellinger has very little value considering how much hes getting paid. I think it was necessary to move off belli for the future of the team.
@@adrianbedolla7939 It's a fair point for sure. My only thing is, the Cubs have not alot of options at first base. Hopefully Busch is great. The team has more money to go get a pitcher and a closer and let's see where the team is come July.
Great move Jed

Jed is an idiot wtf you talking about
Alcantara is on the 40. That's the Prospect in the Top 100 I would include in a deal for someone like Jhoan Duran. 104 w/spin 😅.
He hosed us on what we got from the Bellinger trade
If yoh don’t resign him it’s a waste
Yes but can he be a closer
Agree 👍💯
No

"Someone slightly better than Belli" tells us everything we need to know about your baseball knowledge. 😂😂😂

Trade a GG, .280 hitter, that steals bags and has just a 10%K rate and possibly a lead off hitter?
Go Cubbies
You should of kept Cody
He wont resign him hoyer will f**** it up, i have the faith
I would hope he doesn't make him resign. I do want Jed to re-sign him, though.
Cubs should do short term deal with former cubs prospect glenbar Torres
Where does he play?
Is he the bootleg version of Gleyber?
I'd love to trade our PBO....

No comment on Roki. Hmmm.
Even if they don’t go full court press, he’s not going to lay out his full strategy overall in an interview lol
Rōki said he doesn't want a big market team per his agent.

But you gave up Bellinger for a garbage hurt pitcher
They did it to clear money. What don't you people understand about this lol
@@CarlosHernandez-c3rYou also need to get whatever his value is to the Yankees back. The Cubs haven't excelled on that front recently.
SIGN TREVOR BAUER ALREADY!
To do what

Should have kept belli all you did was remain status quo sign 1 year player got rid of bellinger so not much improvement cheap ass

Well the Bellinger deal just went down so it’s probably safe to assume he knew that was coming when he said that.

Tucker isn’t good anymore 😂
I don't think it's Jed Hoyer who doesn't know baseball Larry.
Lay off the bud.
Cubs are going to sign alex Bregman i hope they do.
