Love this interview with Cliff! As an American who first was introduced to his music in the 1970’s with Devil Woman, I immediately became a huge fan. Before a concert in London in the early 1990’s I met Cliff and he was as warm and genuine as he is here in this interview. I suspect he would have been massively successful whatever his career, but I’m glad he chose music. He certainly has brought me, and millions of others lots of joy over the decades. And Cliff, please duet with Joe Bonamassa! Love him too!
There are few artists on the planet that could possibly sing or hold a tune over the age of 80. At 82 years old and still recording and singing live is an amazing feat.
What a wonderful interview. Very interesting to see and hear the views of Sir Cliff on so many topics. I grew up listening to Cliff as my late elder sister was a fan and each year we would go to see Cliff and the Shadows at the Globe Theatre in Stockton on Tees. He is, and always has been, such a positive character and interesting that he likes to socialise with people who don't really pay attention to what he has done or his high profile in UK. I understand why he would feel comfortable in Portugal or Barbados after the way he was treated in UK. Again, thank you for this very interesting interview.
I remember meeting him when he came to my school. I was looking at the dinner ladies screaming and bumped right into him. I said sorry and then looked up to see it was him while my gym teacher glared at me for being in the wrong place. Later him came where I worked as it had a tear fund section and christain books. He was a nice guy.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing ,that a person actually wants to have a private life. We seem to live in a society, where if people don’t live as we would want or expect them too, then there must be something wrong with them or something shady going on.
