You can see shes really trying to pronounce everything properly here, probably after her Tony’s performance people said they couldnt understand her, but i think when she enunciates everything properly it loses its charm and Patti-ness. Love her so much :)
LittleLocoCoco Ooh yes I listen to them and yeah there good, but thats the thing tho i still perfer pattis verson from everyone elses cuz thats the point nobody has her voice anymore Patti has an old classic tone to her voice very similar to that of the 50's and you just dont here that from anyone anymore, everyone tries to replicate oldies type music they get the music but the vocals they dont and there was something very special about they way they use to sing and I just find it remarkable and very rare! She really makes the song her own, shes got the personality for it too its one thing to play a character its another to be one she just naturally has what I would call Reno.
Patti is fabulous! People said they could not understand her "Evita" songs....the temp has been lengthened considerably for other performers who could not handle the original tempo. Check out the Broadway revival - much slower. To those who say she is inarticulate, try and sing "Buenos Aires" in the original tempo - it is ridiculously hard. No wonder why Patti thought Andrew Lloyd Weber hated women when she saw his brutal orchestrations.

I thought she was doing it sarcastically hahaha
I listen to many people sing this song, not many can compare to her. She is fantastic!
Listen to Gaga and Tony Bennets version.

LittleLocoCoco Oh yes okay thats fine.
Just listening to her make a me out of breath
Patti is amazing!
Her gesture at the end was priceless

i love her, and I love her dress *_*
LOVE that dress!
americas greatest song writer the incomparable Cole Porter!
Patti LuPone should come to australia
I saw this concert with "big dress descending".
@mbrown0825 Exactly! On anyone else, that gown would look like some sort of demented wedding dress but she looks fantastic.
2024 November
What year was this she sang fantastic!
Well it was 1995 if you still care.
Lol
What year was this?
1995
It’s gonna be Sutton for me
I love Patti but i don't feel that her voice really lends itself to this songs, but good lord she is a gorgeous woman!
This is not a good example of her singing this song....it's WAY too fast. Look up her Tony performance...night and day.
Meh
I don't feel like her voice fits this song.. it sounds really strange and I don't care for her rendition of it. It's super hectic and hard to follow.
Her Tony awards rendition is a lot better.
