    I'm gonna give up some juice on fishing a lipless in the pre-spawn and spring: the point of fishing a red crank is to mimic a craw as closely as possible. Try retrieving it like a real craw - Pop it up, like a craw popping up from the bottom, give about 3-4 quick cranks, and then let it drop back down and let it rest 3-5 seconds before doing it again. This works amazingly well, especially for red lipless cranks.

      I hate to hear that! I did not mention a lure retriever in this video, which I need too. My recent trip this last Saturday, we were catching bass out of standing timber with the lipless crankbait. They got hung up several times, and my lure retriever came through and I did not lose one luckily. The two biggest fish in this recent trip came off of the lipless. Thank you for watching and good luck to you! - Jimi

    I love fishing lipless cranks….I have caught fish on all 3 of those retrieves you explained…most of my fishing is in vegetation with soft bottom. My two most effective lipless are the spro aruku Shad and a Jackall TN70 one knocker. Those two lipless baits can be yo-yo’d or pumped vigorously without the bait tumbling over itself and fouling your hooks on your line.

    Techniques are almost limitless because lipless are incredibly versatile. I struggled for years with jigs and lipless cranks and didn’t use them for years because of it. I decided to pick them back up a few years ago and man did I figure them out and have caught some absolute pigs. The lipless crushes year round but especially the pre spawn for me. Fun fact I’ve never even had one single bite on red, I’ll go back through the same area with a shad patten and whack em…

    I was on a pre spawn rattle bait bite on a flat in only like 3’ of water in the back of a cove. They were choking baits yo yo’d in that 3’ water column. Sure seemed to me my 3/4 oz red eye shad actually fell slower thru that 3’ than my 1/2 oz red eye shad did.
    Have you ever noticed this before? I’d always just assumed that heavier meant a faster fall. That may not actually be the case with a Red Eye shad in the conditions I mentioned.

    I agree red traps work in spring but I do not think it's because of craws. I believe the bass are pre SPAWN and they hit red and loud lures out of aggression before spawn. Red plastics don't play great until summer (no noise). Just my opinion so no one flip out and call my mom names.

    • @BassFishingDeclassified
      @BassFishingDeclassified  Рік тому

      From my experience fishing a lake here in Arkansas that is the closest thing to a Florida lake is to follow the rising water. Find a creek / ditch that is coming in the lake. Follow it for as far as your boat will take you. Fish in these types of water will go with the rising water. Sometimes they go where we can’t get to them. When you find a true creek/ditch then it makes it easier to target them.
