Nice rack. The Alorair Sentinel 55 has same form-factor, specs, and owner's manual as BaseAire Airwerx 55. Alorair and BaseAire are both trademarks of Ningbo Free Trade Zone Refine Air Treatment Equipment Co.,LTD Had new BaseAire Airwerx 55 installed in sealed crawlspace of 1,025 sq. ft. ranch home. Within 9 months turning it on and setting humidistat to 56%, it became so corroded and rusted inside, it stopped working; as discovered my HVAC tech hired to perform annual maintenance as proscribed in owners manual (3 months early, actually). Wish I could attach pictures. $200 to ship 57 lb. unit back to BaseAire. BaseAire wants $150 to ship it back. Could have bought a new unit for the shipping costs. Essential "5 year" warranty facts: * If the unit is less than six (6) months, the company will pay for the shipping costs provided that the warranty claim is valid. Otherwise, customer shall pay. * If the unit is 6-12 months old from the date of purchase, the customer covers the shipping expense to send the product back to Baseaire facility. The rest will be covered by Baseaire warranty provided that the warranty claim is valid. * If the unit is more than a year but less than three years, the customer will pay the shipping costs regardless if the warranty claim is valid or not. * If the unit is more than three years, the customer may still send the unit back but ONLY FOR COMPRESSOR REPAIR. In this case the customer is obliged to pay the shipping cost as well as the labor.
Man, I keep hearing about things like this, it makes me nervous. Luckily I still haven’t had any problems with mine. And I paid for this unit myself after doing my own research, it wasn’t like a brand deal or anything. Thanks for providing some feedback here though.
I must have gotten one of the problem units as well. Just installed at the end of October and it ran good for 5 days. The unit would run for 5-6 hours and then off for the same amount of time. Mine is set at 55 and would shut off at around 51 and then turn back on around 57. I had to shut the unit down after the first week to finish tieing the condensate drain into my plumbing. It was off for a few hours and now it is still set at 55 and is turning on and off every 20 minutes and is running at 49-51. Once your initial dehumidification was done does your unit cycle on and off every 5-6 hours?
I just went thought two of these, the 55, then 55S models. Both had same control panel issue. After about 1 week of use, the units shut down and would not restart without unplug then plugging back in. The control panel for settings and temp completely unresponsive and no fan blowing. Wish I read the reviews. Seems to be a common issue on these. Amazon and Aloair was great and took both returns. Went and got a Hisense from Lowe’s with 4 year replacement warranty for 1/2 the cost.
Nice review. I appreciate the lack of whistles and bells in how you presented this, thank you.

Wow I have not heard that. I've got my unit running as we speak. Heavy humidity and the unit is handling it just fine. I haven't had any issues.
lol been using alorair for 3 years works non-stop for the whole time well built and works like charm.
Hi how loud are these systems? Could you sleep next to one?
Where did you purchase the items to hang from joists and what are they called? Please thanks.
