You've probably realised now that The Outside takes place on Voldsoy, and that at the end Clancy and the Torchbearer are looking out over the Straits of Paladin towards Trench. Also remember that Ned stands for Neuro-Expansion Device. Like you say the band don't fit it into the Lore directly but looking back at Chlorine it's like Tyler's music (a full pool) made the antlers grow, that's how he made the first Neuro-Expansion Device that allows the seizing of vessels. People speculated that there maybe only one Ned that acts as a N.E.D., and that's THE Ned who took Tyler to the cove and showed him how the weapon works! Great dot-connecting as usual Matt. And I like that you always reframe things in the big picture of what all this is a metaphor for, something those of us who love to get deep into the minutae of the Lore can forget sometimes I think!

I like what you said about Trash destroying where Tyler is. I like how that works to destroy the constructs that limit imagination. It's not canon, but i believe the neon tubes hold the brain matter or the conscienceness of the glorious gone (inside the glass they form my brain) and the tall tubes maybe even hold the brains of the Bishops. I feel they could already be dead, living a second life. But with the destruction of the neon tube, he is forever dead. I don't know why Tyler would do that if Keons helped save him, except maybe this ultimately frees Keons from being a Bishop. But that's just my wild take. It's not canon.

Oh and I looked back at the Shy Away video to see if Trash has eyes that show he was seized at that point but it's hard to tell.
