Why change the origins of ghouls for the au? It was kind of pointless, especially since the average citizen has no experience with ghouls, and in Tokyo Ghoul: Re there was someone who called in ghoul activity, only for it to be a stray dog. Having the ghouls be escaped government experiments makes no sense to me.
