It's someting else to walk around old volcanoes and imagine the violence that occurred at the exact spot you are standing.

🤔 Hmm... ^looks almost identical to where I live! Let's see, there's mountains, high waterfalls, temporarily dormant volcanoes, underground lava tubes, obsidian flows, and even Pacific evergreen forests. Yep, just like Wilmington Delaware! So obviously there's NO reason for me to leave here! Besides, who could possibly want to leave Delaware?
Seriously though, I have a cousin who lives in Bend, working in video game development at Sony. I've never been there, but because large corporations like Sony are based there, I assumed that Bend was probably just another drab, flat, featureless urban area with lots of suburban sprawl(like Wilmington De BTW). But then I discovered videos like this one! Turns out it's a beautiful place, with lots of actual nature nearby.

We've got friends in Delaware. Sounds like we have another reason to visit.
Bend was pretty cool. Lots of outdoor activities but maybe a little too hip for us. We wouldn't mind getting back up there to do more climbing and try kayaking that Deschutes river.
