    There's some debate that Scott should've ended up with Knives because they seem to have more in common. But all the major conflicts in the film involve Scott fighting to be with Ramona, so having Scott not ultimately end up with Ramona would render all those flashy, impressive fight scenes practically pointless.

    To understand Nega-Scott, you must understand 2 things. Each of the characters have a number... the exes represented by their sequential number (although the twins were 5 & 6 together which gives you 11), Ramona is a 10! Scott, however, is a zero. In one scene, his shirt even says so (as does his drink of choice). Neil is also a zero, as his name implies (nil).
    With that settled, the second thing to understand is that Nega-Scott is therefore, negative zero, and as such just ZERO!
    So, it is no wonder he and Scott got on so well!

    Actually compared to a lot of you’re reactions you had more to say for this one than you normally would. Interesting (to me anyway) we find that in the past Scott has sort of dated Captain Marvel and in this he not only fights and defeats “Captain America” but also Superman (Brandon Rough) which is not too shabby. By the way Kamilla I demand that you take care of yourself. 😉

    I think most reactors don’t see the one crucial detail that explains the Nega Scott.
    While he’s playing the game halfheartedly with Knives he has to fight something called Nega Ninja. He complains to Knives that he can never get past it, just as the Nega Ninja kicks the head off his character.
    She makes a joke saying “well don’t beat yourself up about it.”
    A joke that comes full circle when Nega Scott shows up at the end.

    As weird as it is for a 22 year old to date a 17 year old. The age of consent in Ontario, Canada is 16. Not saying that it isn’t weird but it wasn’t illegal. There are a lot of grey areas when it comes to the law about that kind of stuff. I dated an older girl at 15 who was 20 and my mom flipped her shit but because our age gap was 5 or less years, that also wasn’t illegal even though my mother tried to get her arrested. Things might have changed here now as that was in 2003 but that’s what I know about that. BTW, raised in Toronto where this movie takes place .

    • @nyuszicsib
      @nyuszicsib Рік тому +5

    • @cmlemmus494
      @cmlemmus494 11 місяців тому +2

      What really blows people's minds is that the age of consent was RAISED to 16 in 2008. Prior to that it was 14, although there were some grey areas due to prior legal precedents. Put simply, someone over 18 couldn't lie or misrepresent themselves to a younger person (including pick-up line type lies) and the parents had to be okay with it. The 14 - 18 range was treated as a civil/ family matter rather than a criminal matter.

    • @jamk2668
      @jamk2668 11 місяців тому +5

      I think this kind of slight age gap discourse took a turn around seven years. Someone in their early twenties dating someone in their late teens was not even remotely uncommon around ten years ago. Even now, it's not unheard of and the outrage mostly resides within the internet realm. It's strange how certain people think it's outlandish to assume that someone in their late teens can be just as stunted or advanced as someone in their early twenties.

    • @defstone999
      @defstone999 10 місяців тому +3

      It's less about age of consent and more so of the scene. As sad as it is to say and is pretty heavy taboo, the local rock scene especially with small bands has a history of grooming/dating underaged girls. A lot of it is an ego boost for the musicians and a "exciting new world as a roadie" for the underaged. So as weird as a concept as it is, it's a fairly reoccuring thing in that scene.

    While the 17 thing seems weird on the surface, the character of Scott is not malicious in that way so it shouldn't really be the focus. The age of consent is also 16 in Canada (and the stoy is written by a Canadian), so, in terms of the legalities, nothing really wrong there. The age gap for the characters is not insanely large either. Both characters are equally immature in their own ways.

    Unfortunately this movie has to overcome many of the same challenges with its viewers in today’s world as it did when first released (beyond the poor marketing that led to a low box office):
    1. Scott is meant to be an antihero whiny douche.
    2. Yea, this movie is really supposed to be a crazy comic/video game mash up world.
    3. Absurdist humor is difficult for some to get into or catch onto immediately, especially if you expect more literal interpretations from movies.
    4. Some viewers may not have been part of or ever got into the cultural zeitgeist that this movie leans heavily on.

    One of my favourites of 2010
    I really enjoyed Scott Pilgrim vs.The World, and consider it one of my favourites of the year if not the best. The film is shot in a unique way and looks wonderful and the music is cool with lots of energy. Edgar Wright does a superb job directing the film, the film is filled with humour and good humour at that, it goes at a cracking pace and is compelling throughout and the characters are appealing. The acting is great, Michael Cera gives one of his better performances(only his performance on the brilliant sit-com Arrested Development is better in my opinion) and he is well supported by some very talented co-stars.
    Overall, a great movie and one of my personal favourites of its year so far. 9/10 Bethany Cox

    It would be great to see you do a reaction for UPGRADE 2018 its a very underrated movie and i can tell you it's definitely one of the best 21st century sci-fi movie. Only just 3 million dollars budget they managed to make something much brilliant and much better than most Hollywood movies these days. I highly recommend for you to see it 👍
    Here is some others movies that i definitely
    want to see you do a reaction that i have already highlighted. Also other movies that i have separated from the highlighted ones either you want to a reaction or not. It's your choice 😊👍
    *Speed Racer*
    *Deep Blue Sea*
    *Ninja Assassin*
    *Dark City*
    *Reign of Fire*
    *Tron Legacy*

    *Balls of Fury*
    *Cube 1997*
    *Exam*
    *Eagle Eye*
    *Seven Psychopaths*
    *Black Hawk Down* the ending of this very inaccurate because the US army didn't "save themself" from the war. A foreign military from Malaysia helped them from getting killed and saved them,you can look it up on the internet. Hollywood and directors should definitely show what really happened based on real event like this war,it's an absolute disgrace for them to show something that is very wrong from what happened. Yes, I'm from Malaysia 😊😄
