Nice video. Well, as you're probably aware, there's not a lot of largish urban areas in Wales. Sticking to the M4 corridor you have Newport, Cardiff and Swansea. You could also maybe do Neath and Llanelli. There is also the former coal mining towns just up country from Cardiff in the Rhondda valley, which would be an interesting video to say the least. Then you have to go to North Wales, where you have the coastal dual carriageway linked to the M56, where you have Chester and Wrexham eventually ending up in Holyhead. The rest of Wales is pretty much empty.
Barry Island was separated from the mainland by Barry Sound until the Victorian era when docks were built to connect it. There was also a steam locomotive graveyard there and as a kid, it used to fascinate me when we passed in in the car when we had day trips to Barry.
Come to Pontypridd, it's a bit rough around the edges but a lovely community and a buzzing high st at the weekend. Plenty of history with the mines as well.
Interesting video, I’m glad you never let the weather stop you, Barry Island, the amusements and funfair regularly featured in the bbc comedy drama series Gavin & Stacey, I have series one and two on dvd.
You really had a good walk around this town. You looked quite warm with your hood up. I hope your cousin didn't get too cold! When you said it was a 30 minute walk to the beach, I was a bit worried. That would have meant the same time to get back😱 Glad it didn't take as long as you thought! I'm not sure if Aberystwyth would be that easy to get too from where you are, but I like that town. I stayed there for a week some years ago. It has an old Victorian cliff railway, similar to the one in my town. How's Dylan btw?
Hello, luckily there is more than one station in Barry so that’s why I didn’t have to walk back. I am looking into Aberystwyth but it would require an adventure. Dylan’s good as far as I know!! Thanks for watching!!
@@urban-UK It's only a bit of mud, where's your spirit of adventure?? Only joking, paddling anywhere in the UK at the moment would probably lead to acute frostbite, and a few questions regarding your sanity!
Much enjoyed this, only seen Barry beach in summer and never thought to explore further. (I'm not sure your hood covers enough of your head to stop it getting wet though).
Hi, luckily it wasn’t too rainy!! Barry is a very strange place at this time of year although this was my first time visiting the town so I was no idea what it’s like in the summer!! If you didn’t already know, I upload every Saturday and I reply to every comment!! Thanks for watching!!
Being honest, you talking about donating whilst you where on top of the cliff made me laugh so much!! In terms of places to visit and videos, I have a few ideas. There is a little town in the middle of wales called Bala, very picturesque and a beautiful lake to kayak on. Also I don't know if you know anything about the extreme points of the Uk (northernmost, southernmost etc) but I think it would make for a cool video. In case you want to consider it: Northernmost: Dunnet head, Scotland (for the mainland) Southernmost: Lizard point, cornwall (a lot easier to get to lol) Easternmost: Ness point, lowestoft, suffolk (good proximity to lowestoft train station) Westernmost: Ardnamurchan point, scotland As well there is the capitals challenge (all 4 capitals of the uk in 24 hours) and a lot of places on the south coast like bournemouth or paignton would be really interesting to visit, as in summer they are almost like the mediterrenean. I hoped all this helped lol
Shame your battery went before you got to the funfair. Henry Danter owns it and he's usually there , he loves giving interviews about the fair because it means so much to him . Also on the point the other side of whitmore bay used to be Barry Butlins it had a huge pool outside and i think could accommodate 6000 holidaymakers also had a chairlift and small funfair of their own . Shame its all gone now . If you Google Barry Butlins you'll see what i mean ,there will be lots of pictures of it .
Hello, I did go on the biggest ride after the video and I really didn’t enjoy it unfortunately. I’m sure it is a brilliant fun fair though. Thanks for watching!!
@urban-UK well done , your braver than me ! I've never been on it . Henry Danter paid £3 million for that one ride ! Google Barry Butlins and you will see a lot of pictures of the camp .
Your braver than me ! I've never been on that ride . That one ride cost Henry Danter £3millilon . Google Barry Butlins and you can see a lot of pictures of the camp in it's heyday !
I've tried adding a reply but it doesn't go up . I was saying that you were braver than me going on that big ride . It cost Henry Danter £3 million just for that one ride. Google Barry Butlins and you can see the pictures of the camp in it's heyday.
Yeah, I try to make the videos as long at possible but I usually have to buy the cheapest possible train tickets which aren’t always times well. Thanks for watching!!

Yeah, I’m the last two weeks I haven’t been able to mention Barry without Gavin and Stacey being brought up. Thanks for watching as always!!

Haha, it was really cold!!
Good Vlog you two keep them coming :)
Thank you! Will do! I see your in a studio in profile pic. Anything interesting?
Another fun watch, and another place I've never visited, so get a bit of a tour from you! You didn't fancy a little paddle?
Haha, unfortunately that water is basically the muddy River Severn so no paddle for me!! Thanks for watching!!

Hope your family home is safe from all the flooding. Maybe you could make a video about flooding damage in the area.
Great idea
