Discovered Gamma Ray about 10 years ago, and was immediately smitten. Their music simply made me happy. I mean, those lyrics: "The lust for life is stronger than the fear." Put together with that powerful, driving music, is so unrelentingly uplifting. I guess that's why some folks call this "Happy Metal". And yeah, they've got a lot of fancy technical guitar parts, but the songs just flow so nicely. Beautiful stuff, and this entire concert was just great, even without an audience. Anyway, cool video, and I enjoyed the bit of discussion you guys had about the band.
I’m 68 and Gamma Ray completely flew under my radar for these past 30 years and I just recently “discovered” them from this livestream event. You say they remind you of the 1990s metal music but when I first heard them my first thought was of Uriah Heep of the 1968 to 1974 timeframe. For me, that’s what I call back in the day.
excellent

Ralph Sheepers has leveled up so much since the 80's I love that BEAST of a man!

Power metal still isn't quite my stride, but wow what a voice!
I allready liked, Gamma Ray is one of the bands I like the most, Kay Hansen is awesome!!
Dio is the grandfather of Power Metal, Kain Hansen is the prince of Power Metal
One is the Ritchie, and Kai is his prophet!... 😁
