But as soon as Christ left his side, he began to doubt, or maybe to think that his time had not yet come, and so denied Christ. Jesus said that if we deny Him before man, He would deny us before the Father. Peter did a pretty heavy thing. He was redeemed by Christ's blood through his faith and repentance, however. God is good, there is no amount of sin that can separate us from Him.
