Sehr fein! Hab meinen „Video-Beitrag“ ja auch schon zu dem Thema beigetragen ;-). Ich hoffe wir überzeugen dadurch noch viele weitere „Skeptiker“ dieser Sicherheitsoption!
Hi Nick, you mean the ones I was wearing during the Intro of the video? These are Adidas EvilEye glasses. They come with different changeable lenses. Furthermore I am using optical inserts. So practically I am using optical glasses with those orange-colored contrast-increasing lenses.
Hi Matt, i used that one: sotecc.de/haubenblitzer-informationen/ There are different manufacturers on the market, i decided for the one above simply because they had a special offer last autumn 😀 - i do not and did not get any sponsoring, just to have said that 😀. So i cannot tell you, what the advantages of this one or the other ones is. For sure the mentioned manufacturer knows now, which model suits best for a Silent canopy :-)
@@RudisGlidingAdventures Two more questions for you, Rudi- 1) Are you sure that you can reinstall the canopy with the strobe positioned as you have it? 2) How does the strobe's behavior work with ADS-B? Would it illuminate if an ADS-B-transmitting aircraft came within a certain proximity? (I bought my FLARM primarily to get ADS-B traffic warnings, I fly out of a GA airport where no one has FLARM).
@@mattmcbee7109 regarding your questions: 1), yes, because there is a quick release connection in the cable to the strobe. So no trouble with that. Also the view to the locking mechanism is fine, so i can check that it is closed and locked 2) puuhh, thats a very tricky question. The ADS-B is omnidirectional, so there is only an indication if a traffic comes close but not from which direction. So it depends if Flarm is issuing a warning or not. I am not 100% sure, so i think it would be better to ask the guys from Flarm or the strobe manufacturer directly
Hi Javier, there are a number of manufacturers. I have used the one from SOTECC.de, but there is also aeroflash.de, how2soar and some more. Also @stefanlanger is offering now these devices. So have a look and decide which one fits best for you 😀
Hi Rudi, I notice you have the Aircom Air Traffic Display as well as the ACD 57 for Altimeter, Radio and Transponder - What transponder and radio combination did you choose and are you happy with how it all works together - asking as I'm configuring instruments for a JS3 and have chosen ACD 57 and Air Traffic Display. Thanks, Mark
Hi Mark, you did absolutely fine! I am very happy with all of it. I still have the KRT2 as radio, remote controlled by the ACD, because the AirCom was not available at the time of purchase. I think the AirCom would be a bit better, there are some few snacks with the KRT2. The AirCom is simply made to work with the ACD, so I would choose that one the next time. Thank you for your comment and have fun with your JS3 😃!
Flarm is only working if both aircrafts are equipped with a Flarm. If the range is poor, warnings can quite late, like in my case. There are some devices, which combine Flarm and ADS-B reception of Transponder signals, but often without showing a direction of the Transponder equipped aircraft.
Make sure you disable it when the FES is in use. Trust me. You won't notice it possibly in most situations, but I can promise you it would be bad in low lighting motoring home. I can imagine that light would be disorienting if you aren't expecting it. So be sure to switch it off since it's above the prop center height. What did this cost? Link to the product?
Hi, thank you for your comment! I haven't tried it so far in low light conditions but i'll keep an eye on that!
Hoch interessant, was du uns zeigst.
Vielen Dank
Danke für dein Kommentar Ashraf 😀!
What glasses are you wearing for flying Rudy? Where can I find the prescription lenses? Thank you! Great videos!

Awesome. I may install one on my first-gen Silent
Hi Matt, thank you! Yes I really think such a strobe makes sense.
@@RudisGlidingAdventures could you please post a link to the strobe?

can flarm, just like tcas, see other aircraft's transponders?
