    I have read, re-read, and re-re-read the Ridgid manual and could not figure out how to get the guard installed - yet after spending just 2 minutes watching your video, I can install and remove the guard in 10 seconds! Thank you very much! You just gained a subscriber!

      You’re not the first to say that. Thank you very much and you’re most welcome.

    I wish I could give you 10 likes. This is exactly what I needed. I nearly had a heart attack making my first ever table saw cut and the guard came right off as the wood pushed under it. I really don't understand why Rigid (my saw's brand) doesn't make short clips to show how to attach the parts, the things to check right after unboxing and perhaps things to check periodically vs every time the saw is used. There is a lot of content online already, but some questions are answered with low quality, grainy videos on UA-cam that don't show up close shots so you can actually see what's happening. Plus for a total newbie, reading the manual is like reading Greek at times. Seeing it would be so much easier. So again...thank you.

    I’ve been looking for days for a video to help me out with both of those safety guards attachments on my table saw. The saw was given to me and I’m a novice so I need safety protection for sure. I read the manual but it didn’t explain things very well. Videos and a person taking their time is just the ticket ! Thanks so much . Now if I can get this project going ..... 🤦‍♀️

    Very good explanation of how the seldom used device is attached.
    On another note relative to the R4512. I replaced my stock fence with the incra TS LS Joinery System. If anyone needs the old fence parts leave a comment here.

    The other thing that might be going on is that the Riving Knife is not in the up position. You can click the guards and kickback in place, but the blade guards are at the wrong angle and won't actually protect you...

    • @mkdesignsfinewoodworking
      @mkdesignsfinewoodworking  3 роки тому

      This is true. But, that was not his issue. He couldn’t get it to even attach to the riving knife.

    are you going to make videos when winter is over?

    • @mkdesignsfinewoodworking
      @mkdesignsfinewoodworking  4 роки тому

      Short answer. Yes. Long answer. I have been working on a video all winter on and off. We have been dealing with some medical issues and other stuff. Everything is ok and we are slowly starting to get back to normal. I will be beach soon. Thank you for asking.

    How do you put back on a washer that came off my kick back paws?
    Thanks

      If you’re referring to what I think you are referring to you would probably be better off replacing the pawls. Even if you are able to get it back on it may slip off again and I’m not sure they will work correctly. I will look into this more and let you know if I find a different answer.

    how do you keep the cover plate from popping up when you lower the blade? I got my blade guard on, but when I lower the blade, the cover plate pops up.

      Are you referring to the throat plate? If so is the riving knife lock lever in the down position? The only time I have ever had that happen is when I had the lever in the up position or not fully seated in the down position. Also, just a side note. If the riving knife is seated properly the rye lever should be fairly easy to move up and down.

    What is a blade guard? 🤣
    Hum I saw something like that in the bottom of my tool box.
