First of all, the way you use statistics is marvelous. You don't just go on the most obvious stats and try to build from there, you try to incorporate a variety of different numbers and strengths of a player to fit a player into a certain team. So this is why I approve of your Moneyball tactics. As a Fenerbahçe fan, it's really sad to see starts like Tadic go because he's been amazing for us, creating chance after chance. Not to mention he has been the best in top 10 leagues last season. In any case, every transfer season is an opportunity to improve the team so your choices were bang on and we should follow a similar route to improve our squad. Great video mate.
I have a huge soft spot for Tadic. He was fun to watch at Southampton. He was great for me at Ajax in FM23. That said, when you can get a player who will perform better in the game for cheaper, you got to do what you got to do 😭
@@mustermannfm Have to agree with you on Tadic. He really makes football more beautiful with the way he plays. A memorable goal against U.S Gilloise in the Conference League elimination match though, his connection with the fans were immaculate as shown when he hugged our fans there after he scored. Mert Hakan Yandaş might not be the most technical or physically gifted player, however he made up for it by giving his 110% every match, running all across the pitch without complaining until his heart and lungs gave out. Gave a decent g/a tally and played with the emotions of the home crowd against Galatasaray away in the great derby, 2nd to last match of the season. İrfan Can Kahveci had the season of his lifetime last season, a double double on g/a wonderful long shots. Not a quick boi but he can create chances and play the ball diagonally as a wide playmaker. A deadly left foot as he used it to find the back of the net more than a few times. Definitely not one to overlook. Lastly, Batshuayi has been a wonderful backup scorer as he scored almost all of his goals as a substitute and won us multiple matches thanks to his late match winning goals. Great video again Also sorry for bother but i come with another question 😓: How Possession lost affect on a player. I know that possession won is when player take back the ball by intercept, tackle,… But i thought possession lost is when player lose the ball until you say in the video about Becao (CB guy): “ Rodrigo Becão is great at regaining and retaining possession; in the 99th percentile for both”. Can you please explain this and how the possession lost can affect other metric, like: progressive pass? Again, great video, learn a lot how to use the skin and stat effectively, love it
Yes, possession lost is when the player loses the ball. Rodrigo Becão is in the 99th percentile, meaning he doesn't lose it often (the lower the number, the bigger the slice/better the player). He is great at regaining (winning the ball back) and retaining (not losing the ball). They are not directly connected, he is just very good at both. In terms of how possession lost can be viewed with other metrics, think of it as risk vs reward. Often a player who will try riskier things on the pitch, will lose the ball more frequently. You often see players who make more progressive passes, or attempt more through balls, lose possession more often. It can be a very good sign, therefore, if a player has high progressive passes or xA, but also performs well in the possession lost metric.
To start off with the question, yes I would've kept Tadic, he deserves the wage for the leadership and his unmatched playmaking ability. What really doesn't make sense in IRL is selling Djiku and keeping Samet. Djiku was the only reliable CB that was effective in the build up, Samet's errors were one of the reasons of that one loss in the whole 99 points season. He is reliable if you sit deep and need a solid defender, but if you have the ball he will do what he did in the euros against Portugal

From the description: CLARIFICATIONS The squad view in the skin in this video is not part of the public release. This is because it causes a number of issues elsewhere - including, but not limited to, being unable to see players out on loan or international squads.
One more question: Only the stats from the current season are being displayed, correct? So in the beginning of the season (in the first transfer window), I have no chance to see their stats from the previous season.
Correct. At the very beginning of the game you cannot see stats from the previous season. The game does not archive advanced stats. I recommend making a save point at the end of the season before the seasons change over. This way you can go back and check previous season's data as and when necessary.
Not at all. It always depends on what you want from the tactic. The sentence before I spoke about wanting us to recycle possession rather than force situations that aren't there.
I have tried to find an answer to my question in the comments and in the forums but couldn't find any. Why are always the same stats colored differently, e.g. dribbles, progressive passes, passes completed in gold and others like headers won, shots in blue? This cannot mean that the gold stats are more important for the respective role, right? I was just wondering why this is the case - I cannot find any reasoning.
They are part of the skin, yes. But, the information I am talking about is aggregated from multiple simulations (that brief explainer at the start). So, I have to create them for that data for the video. The pizza charts at the end - which are specific to the season just completed - are taken direct from the game.
Is the average player rating displayed in the game important to the Moneyball approach? And should I rely on average rating or pure data and key metrics are more much important?
Other metrics take priority for me. B I'm far more bothered as to what they're doing on the pitch then a summary rating, especially as I can't set the criteria for that rating
Neither 😂 FM is complex in it's breadth, and that can be very overwhelming, especially for people new to the game. Breaking down things into small chunks and addressing them step-by-step, helps to remove that overwhelming-ness. That's what we do with this series. Analyse our strengths and weaknesses, use that to inform our transfer strategy and build a simple, but appropriate tactic. As for being good, no, I'm just experienced. Ultimately, it's a simulation. Football might have seen various tactical, physical and rule changes over the years, but the actual core of the game (11 players, try and score more than your opponent, etc...) is the same. Applying real life concepts is generally a pretty safe approach. That's where the "experience" comes in. Being familiar with the game's idiosyncracies is kinda helpful. The "Moneyball" approach is also kinda easy mode. When you focus on performance (what a player actually does) over attributes (what a player might do), you're reducing risk. That said, winning the league with one of the top 4 teams in Turkey isn't a massive achievement. Same can be said for Fluminense (although Brazil has a lot of good teams challenging for that title). Finishing 3rd with Sevilla is around what they should expect, finishing 2nd with Frankfurt was good, but we collapsed down the final stretch. They are all solid performances, that can be improved by building on the simple tactics.
You mean the view that is named "Not Publicly Available - It Breaks Sh*t"? It's not publicly available, because it breaks sh*t. Clarified in the description, too.
i am new to fm, i am using your skin and loving it, but i dont understand why for some players there is no data (xG , xA, etc.) for the previous season even though it shows their average rating games and goals in the history tab, anyone know if this is normal or is there any simple solution for this?
This is normal. The game does not archive advanced metrics past the current season. You are advised to either keep a save point before the season ends or export the data to a spreadsheet.
As a Turk, I can confidently say that if any Fenerbahçe fan had witnessed this transfer season in real life, he probably wouldn't be with us now due to a heart attack 😂
I ran a simulation. I exported the data. I ran a new simulation. I exported the data. And so on. I created a new save for this. I used the information gathered from the simulations.
Love the comparison between who you had and who you brought in; perfect example of moneyball. I still had to downvote though because you're not wearing a Browns jersey 😅
@user-vn6jw4fc6h Besiktas were very close to being the choice for this one. Because of where they finished last season. They seemed to do a bit better in the simulations on FM, though. I didn't mention it in the video, but they won the league twice in the 10 simulations. Fenerbahce won none.
@@adnangx8261 yes, it was even mentioned that Fenerbahce had not won the league in the opening minute....a large part of the reason why they were an appropriate choice.
Great video 👍🏽 How can i find “it breaks shit” squad view?
You mean the view that is named "Not Publicly Available - It Breaks Sh*t"? It's not publicly available, because it breaks sh*t. Clarified in the description, too.
@@mustermannfm also do u recommend to play with attribute masking with your skin? Which one is better with or without masking attributes
I play with attribute masking on, as I like that additional level of obscuring, but very much a personal choice. Whatever you prefer.
i am new to fm, i am using your skin and loving it, but i dont understand why for some players there is no data (xG , xA, etc.) for the previous season even though it shows their average rating games and goals in the history tab, anyone know if this is normal or is there any simple solution for this?
This is normal. The game does not archive advanced metrics past the current season. You are advised to either keep a save point before the season ends or export the data to a spreadsheet.
Loved Kent at Rangers shame he chucked it away to go to Turkey.
I've only seen him in a few games, irl, and he seemed frustrating. Would do something good, and immediately follow it up with something dumb.
Plans to make this skin for 2025?
I'm afraid not. As mentioned in ua-cam.com/video/tpyO4T5IvmI/v-deo.html
As a Turk, I can confidently say that if any Fenerbahçe fan had witnessed this transfer season in real life, he probably wouldn't be with us now due to a heart attack 😂
I think I said it in another comment: IRL, I'd have been hounded out the job before preseason was over
How did you get 10 years of data and still starts the game in 23-24?
I ran a simulation. I exported the data. I ran a new simulation. I exported the data. And so on. I created a new save for this. I used the information gathered from the simulations.
Love the comparison between who you had and who you brought in; perfect example of moneyball. I still had to downvote though because you're not wearing a Browns jersey 😅
A fair a reason as any!!
we need galatasaray next
@@adnangx8261 unlikely for FM24 I'm afraid. Got so many on my list already (and it feels a bit redundant doing the reigning champions)
@user-vn6jw4fc6h Besiktas were very close to being the choice for this one. Because of where they finished last season.
They seemed to do a bit better in the simulations on FM, though. I didn't mention it in the video, but they won the league twice in the 10 simulations. Fenerbahce won none.
@@mustermannfm thats super ironic because fenerbahce has not won the league for more than a decade
@@adnangx8261 yes, it was even mentioned that Fenerbahce had not won the league in the opening minute....a large part of the reason why they were an appropriate choice. And given they fell short once again, it looks like FM got that spot on!!
The Besiktas comment was in reply to someone who appears to have since deleted their comment.
You didn't trust Fred :(((
I trust Fred. I described him as dynamic after all. I just don't like those wages!!
Biggest sports club in the world except football.Real definition of a sleeping giant.
It's crazy they've been so long without a title!!
