I just watched a local case the 2 parents split up so he did the right thing and was voluntarily giving the mom $300 a month plus he did other things for the child like paying for soccer and getting him to practice and games. He slso enrolled the child to get him health insurance through the state. It was a step up from Medicaid. It costs like $10 a month. Mom moved 50 miles away and refused to transport the child. Dad had to travel back and forth to pick up the child. Dad worked third shift so his mother or sister would keep the child overnight on days Dad had parenting time. Mom found out and threw a hissy fit. So now she took away some of the overnights. She took it to court and FOC wanted dad to pay $582 child support, $123 medical and they said Dad was only giving mom the $300 and their calculations were for the over $500 so now they claim his arrears are over $3,000 he said no not gonna pay that because I have to live too. My rent is $1,200 my car payment is over $400 plus insurance, utilities and food. He said I'm appealing I will sit in jail first for the next 10 years. I think the guy was making $18 an hour 40 hours a week through a temp service. Most temp agencies in Michigan won't do an income with holding because of the turn over involved with the business. The Dad refused to sign anything. He said as soon as he got caught up on his bills he was gonna give mom $350. I hope that man sees your video

They get an additional dollar from the Federal Government for every dollar in back support that is owed and collected.

Why do the use imputed income ? If child support is for the best interest of a child both parents should pay their support on a card that tracks how the money is spent on the child(ren). The custodial parent should not be allowed to spend money on things that are not for the child(ren). Money not spent on the child should remain on that card for the childs future.

I was lucky because i had some arrears and the x took sued me and her and her lawyer wanted me in jail. The case lasted 8 months having to go once a month for a hearing. I was very lucky becasue i got a fair lady judge who would not lock me up and even told her lawyer to quit asking for it. My lawyer was very good and ended being elected to be a judge. My x's claim $$$ was cut in half by the judge.

I was lucky because i had some arrears and the x took sued me and her and her lawyer wanted me in jail. The case lasted 8 months having to go once a month for a hearing. I was very lucky becasue i got a fair lady judge who would not lock me up and even told her lawyer to quit asking for it. My lawyer was very good and ended being elected to be a judge. My x's claim $$$ was cut in half by the judge.
