FINALLY. When I was at Google Cloud, I was so in awe of Borg. It was truly borg all the way down. Now it's Kube all the way up, and hopefully we'll do even better with the lessons we've learned.
Its simply amazing what you gave to the world! And to know the story behind it in such an amazing manner is a privilege. So here's a big big thank you from all of us.
I love this series!! Love that Honeypot brings their storytelling prowess to engineering & tech world! As we can see, there's tons of drama!! You are making the Engineering world more relatable.Thank you, Honeypot!
lol, the most difficult part of an open source project is naming. Cannot agree more. Every product must tell a story that can reach to your heart by solving a real problem. Thank you for your sharing.
Great docu! Yeah pretty much how I experienced the timeline too. I jumped onto the docker wagon pretty early on, and ran production loads on v0.65 back in 2013. It quickly became clear there were still massive gaps in the the technology, and that Docker alone would not do it - but one thing was clear, containers would be the way forward. Initially I just used a bunch of wrapper scripts to manage containers combined it with Ansible, where the scripts were later replaced by docker-compose. But ever since k8s got traction I haven't looked back.
I was always curious about the discussion between Google's leadership and the engineers about open sourcing Kubernetes. Google truly is a bottom-up organization. This whole documentary was high quality. I'm so happy it exists! Thank you! 😁 👏
Amazing documentary about Kubernetes, very inspiration. It is interesting to see the all brilliants minds and desire to turn the project real and open source.. Congrats for all and Thanks for All efforts... I want to watch now the part 2. Let´s go. 💌🤟
Hearing the argument for a business case behind open source software is really interesting here. It makes it something that I can share with business minds.
