The problem is not to stop receiving notifications which is basically what your video is about,the problem is to stop receiving messages without blocking them. For example I don't want to block A, but I don't want A messaging me or at least I don't A knowing that I don't want to open his message or reply him. Now, this last part might be confusing as you might suggest I turn off my read receipt, but if I do that , the message will show on A's end that the message has delivered, but probably not read. Is there a way A can just message me and it will appear with just one tick without me blocking A
Exactly. This is what I want. Its not notifications I want to stop receiving, it's messages. For example, I want A to accuse me of blocking them, and I will confidently say I didn't.

Lock messages - if I don’t open message will it show one tick to sender?
I think you may be right because it happened to me today. I sent a couple of messages to a friend but it showed only one tick each time. My wi-fi was working and so was my mobile data option. This lasted the whole day so I phoned my friend and asked if she’s receiving my texts, then the moment she checked, I had two ticks on my messages, I now believe she muted me.
Some people says not. Still double tick even though you locked the chats because the wifi/network are still connected. Probably got one tick of the receiver doesn't connect to the internet.

Exactly, it happened to me just today. I’ve never had this issue before but today I sent two messages to a friend and usually I get two ticks straight away, this time though, only one tick. I sent messages to other friends to make sure my wi-fi and mobile data were working and everything was fine, I got the two ticks straight away. I now believe this other friend muted me.
