Hey girl! Love your videos. Former D1 volleyball player here. What you’re going through is totally normal and I’ve been there as well. I stick mostly to lower impact workouts, long walks, barre, runs, and maybe one or two short lightweight dumbbell workouts a week. College athletics definitely did a number on my body and I just had to accept that I can’t workout how I used to, and I don’t really want to either. I workout for fun, to have more energy, sleep better and just feel good. Also, as you go through stressful times in life, doing super high impact and HIIT style workouts stresses out your body even more so it’s good that you’re doing less stressful movement!

Florence Lima when I left the soccer “world”, I kept doing sports because I love it. However, in the first years, felt that I had to prove that 1-I was still an athlete (to myself) and 2-that I was as fit (or more) as my teammates who continued playing soccer. So whatever I did, it always has to be intense, and challenging, but it wasn’t a great mindset. Eventually I learned to do sports for fun and running became one of my favorite sports!(running had always been for soccer purposes and I hated it because I made my runs too intense)
Girl same! I feel you. Once you've become accustomed to the tough workouts and runs it feels like everything else is not enough. If I don't go running, set up a tough circuit, or do something that makes me wanna fall over and pass out lol it feels like I'm not doing enough. It's a hard transition. Intense travel teams, competitive high school + college soccer (or really any super competitive sports) will do that to you. I just started to get comfortable with lifting, but not gonna lie I share the same view as you and would much rather go sprint up a hill! lol

Baylor alum from ‘12 (I know I’m old for this channel ) it’s ok if you’re passions change not even in regards to fitness, I followed my BU degree for seven years and then by the end I hated my job. Then I went back to school and got a masters degree in a completely different subject and I love what I do. Follow your passion always.
Thank you for sharing this it’s such an inspiration, it’s hard to remember who and what you are and what you are capable of especially when you’ve had to ‘change identities’ and challenge yourself more than once. But they’ve all you, and that is the beautiful part of it all. They are all your amazing capabilities to be whatever you wish to be. And everything will come out to be great in the end. It’s hard to not be frustrated it’s human

As an athlete & now becoming an officer in the Air Force, I’ve always struggled with that mentality of being “better” just even a little bit “better” so that I can succeed, feel seen, & just feel the adrenaline. Ugh it sucks, but being able to recognize this exhaustion is so important in growth. You’ve got it Kylie…I’m right there with you on the path to positively looking at myself & the skills I possess🤍

At that point lifting started getting more popular and I felt like something was wrong with me. This video made me feel SO seen. You’re not alone K. I started F45 a yr because i was so freaking bored with my lifting sessions. I enjoy being competitive, like the group aspect and I can still push myself. Just know, you’re not alone! love hearing you talk about the struggle after leaving your sport, i tore my ACL a few years ago and ended up leaving soccer because i was in pain, and i JUST figured out what i like to do for a workout and its been YEARS!! your body changes so much as well when you stop and end up losing the path you were on which no one tells you about haha, thank you for saying that change is good and any exercise is good no matter what it is :))

I wanted to know if you had any suggestions for me about how I could approach training for my season. Like how much should I run each day? Should I run hills or straight and flat ground? Girl! You should really try swimming! I’m a swimmer, and I love it! It’s a great cardio workout that’s easier on your joints than cardio that includes running or jumping
Running and swimming may be the most fun and challenging for you rn! You should follow some endurance athletes! Not everyone in the fitness world is into weight training and HIIT. Follow those like Emma Abrahamson, Allie Ostrander, The Athlete Special!
I get it. I'm an ex soccer player and i call myself an athlete because I've played since i was 5. But im in my 30s and i still am like...what do i call it? I feel more at peace when I workout 5 days a week. Not the same but it makes sense.

sounds like you need a new developer, you are content they are technical. unless they told you about formats allowed in the beginning and you forgot, they need to let you know those things.

I never really tan cross country so I don’t necessarily have any physical advice - but mentally - just enjoy it!!!!!
