38:34 "Don't tell me this is some messed up world where Sunny is imagining if Mari is still alive"
Isn't that just like... the entirety of Headspace?
You've... got a point-
"No no, he's got a point"
He does really have it
i mean, yes and no, because if it was a world where he was only imaginging that she was alive then it wouldn't be taking place back when basil and omori are 12, so i mean you're right, just theres more things to it
"This might be the final episode"
The Basil update: _I'm gonna pull what's called a pro gamer move_
The W H A T
@@jiggilibu Omocat leaked an update in which Basil teams up with Omori, with a new release energy attack animation with basil and a boss fight against the other friends and Mari, which is set to release along with the Switch port
@@jiggilibu I think they might be talking about the secret basil stuff found in the japanese omori files and that it *might* be a potential update to omori
I’m really exited for it!
@Modley cringe
The fact that Omocat and her team put so much effort in making this amazing drawings, just for 1 side Quest that you can easily miss playing the game, just shows even more, how much effort was put in this game.
Well it did take 6 (almost 7) years to finish making this game so...
the game was abandoned for the majority of the years if i remember correctly
@@LazoGT Nah they were probably just working on the game for a long long time. They just couldn't get the release date correctly and delayed it a bunch of times.
@@LazoGT no they were just repeatedly set back
I really like how Merg ended the video, with the little singing that Mari does in the teaser announcing Omori for consoles. That was a really neat detail.
Yo it's really the end huh?
It's crazy how this started as a tiny little rpg game that expanded into such a traumatizing, bittersweet and beautiful story, i just love this game, and man, it's a bit sad to see that this is the last episode of the hikikomori route, but hey, it was nice while it lasted :)
@Xenia © thats cool but no one asked
Yo youre the guythat started that fight

drip omori
i remember you from one of if not the first video of Omori that merg played, seems like both of us sat through his whole playthrough huh?
"What's up guys, welcome back to not sleeping for a week because of the psychological trauma this game has given me!"
There, I fixed your intro
I’m sad that this is the actual end of the series, but I’m happy at the same time. I never knew what omori was until your very first video on it. And the memes, the music, the everything surrounding omori has been a fun time. There were some fun times, some bad times, (times a pretty good, times a pretty bad, if you catch my drift) but all in all, I had a good time. Thank you for playing omori, Merg.
I agree with you sands undertall
I also discovered this game because merg
Same. One of the best games I've played recently
omg sans from undertale?
what are you doing here, didn't merg kill you like a billion times or so?
same dude I actually got the game because of merg and I can safely say this is my favorite game of all time (besides undertale)
In case you didn't know, the people in Sunny's house in the morning are Strangers because your save file still has a WTF value of 13 (same thing responsible for Humphrey's iconic air conditioning line). If the value is lower than that, they're regular movers. And no, even when they're regular people, they never react to stabbing, no matter how close to one you do it.
LOL, so Omori's version of Undertale's "FUN" value is called the "WTF" value? XD
"I fucking love air conditioning!"
Literally a WTF moment XD
Also, wow, that is so cold and... disturbing, bizarre, messed up, that the movers don't even react to Sunny stabbing himself.
And, of course, the awful mother who doesn't even go inside to get her son, instead just waiting in the car and calling on the phone to see what's keeping him, instead of just going in herself.
I feel like there should be a STAB option when you go outside on the moving day, just so you can stab yourself in front of mom's car and be like "See this, mom? See what happens when you ignore me?" *stabs* "WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY TO THAT, MOM?!"
*spams phonecall*
"MOM I'M RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CAR, YOU'RE LOOKING AT MY FREAKING CORPSE, STOP CALLING ME ON THE PHONE!!!"
Oh wait really? I thought it was normal because I also had strangers instead of movers-
Now that’s it’s an end to this series, here’s a list of the best characters! (According to Merg):
Nose
Sharleen
Kel
Omori
Shady Mole
Snaley
Humphrey
Loquacious Cat
Bluegirl
swumphart/swethort
Charlie
Omoli
Perfectheart
Mutantheart
Hector jr.
And sweepheart
merg should make a poll and ask who is the true best character
SNALEY!
oh nvm its in lol
I think he also mentioned Hero too
'Twas a wondrous journey indeed.
Congratulations on finishing Omori, Merg.
The Mari is Home section was great.
episode 10 of omori: "OH NO BASIL"
episode 50 of omori: "c'mon let's go we gotta die"
Honestly, this has been my favorite series to watch on UA-cam. Seeing your interactions with the characters and the story has been hilarious. So long, Omori.

true
I see what you did there
Fun thing with the Rococo sidequest, his bed and I believe paints get fancier with each new piece, if you check their descriptions.
The thing about Omori's replacement for the castle is that it's a complete denial of the truth. I bet you remember, but that was specifically where you get the photo showing her fall, so by permanently replacing it with the calm, empty version, it's like saying it never happened.
Thank you very much for this series. (Just so you know, there's apparently a significant update with new content coming out soon-ish. If you decide to return to Omori for that or not, I have to say thank you very much for bringing its unique experience to so many people and prompting me to resume my own aborted playing.)
And that little bit at the end of the video made me almost cry.
seeing that this playthrough ends digs a hole in my soul. what a ride omori was. it's a game that stays with you.
goodbye, sunny, basil, aubrey, kel, hero and mari! thank you for making us feel the whole spectrum of emotions. ❥
After watching the "normal" route, this game became my favourite of all time. The story is just incredible, and I'm glad we all were able to experience it together.
It's new to me following a series and waiting for the next upload, and it's sad to see it end. I'm just glad I was able to come along for the journey.
From the series I guarantee that Merg would love earthbound. In general he just seems to love quirky goofy rpgs with dark undertones.
It’d be nice to see if only the mother games are around 1000 for a copy. Emulation could work
Now that you mention it, I would love to watch him play both earthbound and mother 3.
Damn. Over a year of laughs, tears, screams, revelations, and _Kel_. I have to say it's been a wild ride. Omori, for me, is definitely #1 game of all time of those I've seen. The plot is the greatest, most thought out and well-written story I've ever experienced in media, and I don't believe any other will ever top it. Nothing will beat piecing The Truth together for me in all of videogame history. Thank you Omori, for the experience and for the resurfaced occasional discomfort caused by mirrors at night and extra caution around stairs.
And thank you Merg, for allowing all of us to experience this game with you. I don't think there was a better UA-camr for the job. I can tell that this game has a genuine place in your heart, and it's been delightful watching it impact you in different ways. There's a lot of people who wouldn't have been able to play this themselves like myself so, truly, thank you. For everything, cherry man 🍒
May we never forget this masterpiece, and try to learn a thing or two from its message, take care everyone ❤️

I remember when I first came to the Omori fandom because of Merg. I was a very active person, with many people recognising me when I wrote comments. I made a few friends,
and even got my most updooted comment on a post about the “Revelation” painting.
I said “You can make a religion out of this”.
A great journey with a great end. I’m happy to have been a part of this!
Thank you for showing me this incredible game Merg. Over a year ago I had never heard of Omori but now it's a game I'll never forget. Your playthrough is what sold the game to me and made me buy it. I love this game and it's community but never wouldv"e heard of it if it wasn't for you so, Thank you.
thank so much for introducing me to omori! it became my favorite game of all time, and watching these series was a pure joy
This is my favorite series on all of UA-cam, not even kidding there, seeing it end is sad but also kind of relieving, thank you Merg, thank you for playing and showing me this amazing game, starting from May 19 to June 8th, I'll always keep your channel deep inside of my heart, just thank you
I’m going to miss the times when OMORI videos came, especially the Hikikomori route ones. It was a really good time :(
Well there is still going to be an update on that game with new content. So I do believe that there will be new Omori Videos once the update releases.
@@JokukranTheileochy I hope so
I was rewatching again the entire omori series and i gotta say this is my favorite series of videos in the entire youtube. The emotion that you manage to convey through each video and your personality is something unique and awesome. Seriously keep putting up amazing videos like these and also thank you for this amazing playthrough Merg.
I'm beginner at piano but, after watching this last episode of playthrough, I knew I had to learn the piece Mari played at the ending of this video. It was such a best way to end this playthrough. And whenever I play it on the piano I will miss Merg's Omori video..
This is really a wild ride. Thank you for the journey playing Omori!
The fact that Merg ended it with the Switch promo music that has Mari singing tells you everything...What a good series, Merg, and what a way to end it. Thanks for playing it, it has been a joy to watch!
This was one of the best OMORI playthroughs I’ve ever seen! Merg’s commentary, along with community interaction and adventurous nature created an exquisite experience for viewers. Additionally, he found secrets that many don’t know about (I got all of OMORI’s achievements, and even I learned new things about OMORI by watching Merg’s playthrough). I genuinely look forward to future content from you. 🎉
Thank you very much!
I am named Omori
And I'm in White Space
And this is my safe spot
It's my happy place
I decide to visit
My friends once again
It's a nice adventure
They're always open
Inside the neighbor's room
We decide to picnic
At the playground we play
With flowers and sticks
My sister recommends
to visit Basil
He lives in a forest
And under a hill
But when a photo falls
Quite haphazardly
He picks it and then says
"Oh no, Mari- she's-"
And I'm back at White Space
There's one way to stop
I stab myself and then
I'm forced to wake up
I am named Sunny
It's late in the night
It's dark and the windows
Glow eerily bright
I am a little hungry
But I eat spoiled steak
So I go back to sleep
Just why did I wake?
Back as Omori
The group goes to space
Now Basil is gone
And they must search every place
But after getting sidetracked
Helping a captain re-sail
They are out of luck
This was to no avail
I wake up as Sunny
A knock on the door
After getting ready
I open it once more
It's Kel, who suggests
That we go to Othermart
But Kel and I are still
Four years apart
It happened to be so
That I met Aubrey, but not as she were
Now she is quite different
Than what I remember
So we get in a fight
And though injuries sustained
It was I who had gotten
My steak knife bloodstained
Aubrey leaves and we decide
To find her location
As if my act was so dramatic
That she needed compensation
We find her in the church
And fight where worshippers tread
Kel says Mari wouldn't like this
But Aubrey reasons, "She's dead"
As Omori I go to
A certain castle
Not caring about
The day's hassle
Conquering its owner
I find a library
And instead of reading
I do the contrary
Back in White Space,
I know what should be done
Though collecting letters
Was a little fun
As Sunny continues his journey
He becomes more prepared
For the hour draws nearer
To when the truth must be shared
And when he lets his mind face
The events that recital night
He slowly can build
And offensive fight
For Omori is evil
A suppressor of knowledge
Once he is vanquished
He can use leverage
But on the final day
There is no time to sooth
And in the last hours in the hospital
He must tell the truth
And Merg has played this wonderful journey
And led Sunny to destroy his fears
This game will not be forgotten
For even a number of years
Thanks Merg for this near-birthday present
You're awesome!!!
if this is a fan made lyric song for the game
someone make it
literally amazing. idk how merg didn’t ❤ this
Well, here we are at the end of Omori and what an experience this series was. I’ll just keep this short but this was a lot of fun, watching Omori and covering so much of the game. It’s been fun but everything must reach an end at some point.
Oyasumi everyone, oyasumi
how criminally underrated can a series and a youtuber be?
youtube: yes
The end of an era. Merg omori. The game of omori is easily one of my favorite games of all time, and I think it’s because I experienced it through this series. For no one else can I click on an hour long video, sit down, and be 100% sure I can enjoy every minute of it. Your take on the game, your humor your diligence in completing all it has to offer, your attentiveness to the comments on these videos is part of what makes this so amazing. I can say for sure that this is my favorite series on all of UA-cam, and probably will be for a very very long time. It was so fun to go on this incredible journey and experience the game alongside you. Take care merg, and thank you for this once in a lifetime experience.
Ps. I totally can relate to how this is the best story in all of media and one of the few that made me cry, although not the only.
Bagel boi
Man, this game really tugs at my heart. I wish it could last forever every time I watch this game, everything hurts a little more each time it ends.
And so comes the end of an over year long journey... Omori is definitely my favorite story ever. Might even say favorite game ever. This game has had an immense impact on my life, and it very well could never have had that if you didn't play it. This playtrough is probably the only way I would have ever truly experienced the game, whether that be because I'd get bored of others videos, or by spoiled by the rest. I doubt I'll ever see a game quite like this. Other games will probably take my focus later on in life, but I'll never forget Omori. Every upload of this playtrough has filled me with joy, sadness or dread. It's sad to think I'll most likely never see an Omori episode in my sub-box ever again, unless you play the switch port, though I don't know how much content that even adds. This really is one of those experiences that you really can't live trough again... Even if I'll probably one day re watch the entire playtrough. Sorry for the poorly formatted comment, but have a great day and thanks for playing this!
A year of watching Omori, It's sad to see it come to an end by I'm so glad I was able to see it through, it has been a truly wonderous experience, and definitely has one of my favorite stories of any game. I won't be forgetting it any time soon.
Probably one of my favorite things to watch on youtube was this Omori playthrough, especially since I practically begged all heavens for you to play it, I was so exited when I first saw the notification.
Your commentary and reactions were awesome, and made me like the characters even more, and the fact that you actively looked for secrets and stuff was cool.
Honestly, if I were to give Omori a 10/10 before you played it, now it would be more like 20/10. Any game just looks so fun when you're the one playing it, especially this one, mostly because the majority of the game is silly characters doing silly stuff, but you just somehow made it feel more interesting and fun.
Also, the air conditioning part in Humphrey was good, didn't expect you to get it lol.
If i were to recommend a game to try out next, it would 100% be CrossCode, it's an awesome game, currently my favorite, though it's way underrated and so it's hard to find people who know or recommend the game.
Mari humming at the end was a really nice touch
My god this has been a ride. I have watched you play this game all along, and it had been an emotional ride for me as well. The hum you put at the end, it has made me burst into tears. Thank you so much for playing this game Merg
The end of the video gave me a big genuine smile. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for playing Omori. Hearing your voice and your emotions in it during the playthrough was enough to make me happy in that moment.
I am glad you liked the game as much as I did and once again, thanks for everything. You always make my day better : )
god... this is one series i am actually sad to see come to its end. i've grown to love and enjoy this game a lot, and even watching your reactions and commentary through it has been such a great time. i can never say this enough, thank you so much for bringing this game to my attention. i hope to see it have a comeback to your channel sometime with some community mods. i will miss the omorisunnymaxy 🌼
Hello Merg, I wanted to thank you a million times for this let's play that I watched entirely through a whole year. I wanted to thank you, because you made me discovered what became my favourite video game and will probably stay my favourite video game. I wanted to thank you for the quality of your videos, that I always love to watch, and that I watch as soon as I see the notification. I wanted to thank you for being yourself : funny, entertaining and my favourite youtuber. I wanted to say that your final speech made my cry. You deserve all the love earth has. You have no idea how this let's play impacted me, not only because of the game... But also because of you. So yes, it is sad that this is over but the memories will stay in my mind and in everybody's minds. Thank you again and I swear I will take care ^^
(PS : I actually cried again while writing this whyyyyyy)
Your playthrough is over... for now. The Switch version seems to have new content around Basil. I think it's coming out around July.
But for now, this is the end. I love Omori (It's a top 3 game for me) and your reactions to this game was a gift to see. So, thanks, Merg for giving us this play-through. It was incredibly fun.
Edit: Ending of with Mari humming Duet was a great choice.
It looks like it was yesterday that Merg start playing Omori, introducing me to this awesome game (that easily became one of my favorite games of all time).
I'm really gonna miss this series.
Thanks for playing until the end Merg! It was a incredible experience that i will never forget.
Wow, what an amazing series to say the least!
Started watching it a few years ago, the only other thing that genuanly made me cry before was an anime (Angel Beats) and Undertale with its ending, but man Omori hit me so hard, seriously for days i started tearing up just remembering it, saw some stuff in the community that was funny and wholesone but otherwise i was done, i wanted to keep at least that happy ending for Sunny in my head, so i didn't watch Hikikomori until this year.
I rewatched the entire series and still think that the Sunny route is the true experience, this route is good just... Man Sunny route made me cry again even tho i already knew everthing, that is how powerfull and good the scenes are.
I wouldn't have played it myself so i thank you Merg very much for showing us such an amazing game, im a bit sad as this game deserved a lot more in my opinion but as long as we cherished it well... i think it was worth it.
Thank you so much, Merg, for presenting us this amazing game!
🍒❤️
the thing i love about this is that its the 100% completion commentary. which is very much appreciated because it feels like it's not just watching a secret showcase, it's finding the secrets together which i guess is the point of a commentary playthrough we're in this journey together, that's why it's so much appreciated to go through all 100% of the game. i too really wanted to see all of OMORI but chickened out halfway through black space 2 ha
thank *you* so much for playing this awesome game.
It's over I'm so sad :'(
This was an amazing series that near the beginning got me through probably the toughest part of my life. I feel I've grown along with it and I'm a better, stronger person. I owe a lot to you Merg for making these beautiful videos. This series will always hold a special place in my heart I don't think I'll ever forget it, thank you
Omori has been stuck in my mind for over a year now. I played through the game last summer and loved it, then I found out you were doing a playthrough of the game on your channel and I've watched every video. Omori is truly one of my favorite games of all time. Thanks for the amazing series!
The most beautiful and emotional game I've ever seen. I felt myself empty after first ending, which I haven't experienced for a long time... Truly a story masterpiece. Thank you Merg for showing us this game!
This was an amazing game, best story I've seen in gaming, only non-real story that has ever made me tear up. It's sad to see it come to an end, but at least we got to watch you play through it.
also btw, the stranger movers only appear when your WTF value is 13, so that is quite rare to see.
And just like that, another amazing series came to an end.
I still remember when I saw your first Omori video. I had been reccomending the game for a while and saw some other people do it as well, but I was so suprised when I saw it that I almost shouted "YES" and then I got some snacks with me to watch the episode.
After the first one, waitiny for other episodes and eventually seeing them were always the high-lights of my day. Sometimes I had have a good day and the video would make it even better, sometimes I wouldnt have as a good day but the video would brighten it up. I could easily forget any problem I have had and just get lost in a sweet way with the video.
Seeing you explore through the universe of Omori, make up relationships with all the characters combined with a sense of humour made me feel like I was going through a journey with the characters and you. It made the game feel even more alive and just like I was there. Moments where I laughed and teared up are countless, and the thing I like the most is that Omori is a game that makes both of these welcome. All aspects are served beautifully.
Now that the series is done, I feel bittersweet with a small blank in my heart. While I would gladly watch countless more episodes, it is important to remember that all good things come to an end. The journey of Sunny/Maxy/Omori is done now, and therefore we shall move on to the next chapter of ours. I will be gladly waiting for your future series, take care untill you meet with your viewers in another story waiting to be told! ^^
I'm gonna be honest, i never really watched this series, not because i disliked the game or because i didn't want to watch it, it was because i didn't want to get spoilers from the game, but it seemed like it was a really nice series, it sure will be missed, thanks for all the Omori videos Merg!, i'm gonna make sure to watch them all after i actually play the game!
This is one series I'll definitely be rewatching endless times in the future until my grandchildren know about it.
Help get this cherry to 1 Million Letsss gooo
He deserves it from putting so much work into his videos and overall being such a good guy. I wanna thank you merg for being there when times were tuff I always had and always will love your content. Thank you.
Wow... I cant believe that's it, this has been an amazing ride
Thank you merg, and until next time, take care :)
(Ps: 3:48 looks like some great background wallpaper material)
You go through so many emotions throughout this game, just like the battle system
It's sad that it's ending but it was a good ride
This series will always be in our hearts
I think it’s hilarious that new content was added to the hikikomori route on console a week after Merg’s playthrough ended
I'm not very good at the whole "talking" thing but I want to try to get my thoughts across:
This series was something I looked forward to every week for little over a year. Every time I saw a new video uploaded I got very excited and now that it's over, I can already tell I'm really going to miss it. This was a very wild (and long!) ride. When I watched the first episode I had no idea what I was getting myself into. All the happiness, all the sadness, the unexpected twists and turns, all the memes that were made during this journey, everything all the way to the very end and beyond that... looking back at it now, I'm just really happy I got to experience it all along with your commentary and -terrible- amazing jokes.
I said this on an earlier video and I'm going to say it again: thank you so much for introducing me and many others to this incredible game.
This was truly a one of a kind experience. One that I wont forget for a very, very long time. :)
*The End*
And then Omocat announces a console port with new alt route content like a chad.
You can never escape this game, Merg, remember that.
Wow. I can't believe it's over. This series was an experience, to say the least. The culmination of the characters, the story, and Merg's commentary was brilliant. I'm glad I got to join you all for this gut wrenching ride, and thank you to Merg for putting in so much effort to check each and every nook and cranny for even the tiniest secrets. Congratulations on finishing OMORI; I've loved my time here and can't wait to see your next RPG playthrough. W POG BEST UA-camR!!! 🥲🤪🤪❤
This entire game is so packed with so much content, that I didn’t even think there was still hidden stuff left.
Great job to Omocat, and the people that helped make this game possible!
Wow. So this is how it ends. Honestly, i didn't know a game could make you fill that way. Bit for me your playthrough was special since i hadn't played or even downloaded the game because 1st: i am *slightly* sensitive to some of the games topics (i wanted commentary on the darkest parts of the game to help me cope) and 2nd: i cant afford it. I was watching other videos of yours and saw that a lot of comments were requesting you to make more videos on it. Then i thought: 'for people to love it that much, it has to be exciting' so after a quick check about the game's topics i jumped to your playlist and it, once again, has been amazing. The characters are written perfectly, the gameplay is exactly what it has to be and the story is... yes. I am really sad it has to be over but everything had to come to an end eventually. I hope you enjoyed OMORI as much as i did. Once again i thank you for doing what you do and i hope you enjoy what you do to.
it's... kinda hard to believe it's actually over. i guess one thing i can say is, thank you for playing this game, Merg. life's been kinda crazy recently and this game and it's characters are something that i can relate to (a lot of it being the best character of the game, SunnyMaxyOmori). while the game never made me cry, it definitely made me emotional on a number of accounts. the music in this will probably never fail to make me feel something. and while i don't think i'd put this at the top of my list of games, it's got a special place in my heart. i really did not see where it was heading the first time i saw it.
but anyway, thanks again for playing this crazy game, Merg. i look forward to see what you'll start up next. until next time... take care.
Best..game...ever...made!
I really glad you played it and introduced it to us! Not gonna lie, this was the first time for me to see a game making me cry. I cannot forget this game...Such a memorable play through....
Again, thank you for the memories. Have a hug from me!
I just want to say one big THANK YOU!!
When you were starting to play Omori I wasn't really emotionally balanced and then I just looked up something on UA-cam to cheer me up. I remembered that you were doing pretty good Undertale gameplays so I said sure I will just waste my time on some random game. Man how far I was from discovering how much of a Fricking masterpiece this game is. Thanks your Omori gameplays did something that not really many pieces of media did. You did get my attention from start to end. I was rarely bored and every time my phone ringed with a new notification I was just filled with pure joy. I just want to say that from the start of the year 2021 your videos helped me in deep depression 2 times and for that, I need to say a big thank you for everything you did. At the end of this video, I did get my eyes wet. I cared for this series and I hope that you Enjoyed it as much as I did.
Just One more thanks
Wow. Just wow. Don't know if it seemed like much to other people, but seeing Sunny wake up in the normal route after all the horrors of Hikkikomori, finally recognizing himself in the mirror, with that music in the background and Merg playing it all off as a dream actually made me cry. I rarely ever cry, and never once before did so out of happiness and relief, but this.... You really are an artist, you know that, Max?
One way or the other, thank you for introducing me to this game, even though I unknowingly chose Subnautica back in that vote a year ago. Once you got to those first few real world scenes, I knew I had to do it myself first, and what an experience that was. The only way it could've been any better is if there was someone out there who could pay for my therapy now, haha.
Goddamn, would you beleive it's been a little over a year since this series started? So much content and love was put into this game, I immediately fell in love with its style and its story still haunts me. What a masterpiece it is. Thanks for showing everything you can Merg, you were really thorough with all the secrets! And thanks for sticking with this series for this long!!
Thank you so much for introducing me to this amazing game, I would never have seen or played this game if you didn't make such an amazing playthrough of it and I am truly sad and at the same time happy that it's over.
One of the best games out there and one of the few that actually made me cry in the true ending.
Congratulations on reaching the end of this Merg. I’m so grateful you shared your experience with this wonderful story with us. The little humming song at the very end was sweet ❤️
Nerf thank you for this series it has been with me for the hardest year of my life I would be feeling immensely depressed and these uploads eould lighten my day thank you this end is truly the most bitter sweet thing I have ever been through
I'm finally caught up! I started watching back in June when I got Covid and had just started playing myself. Your playthrough was fantastic to watch in parallel to my own playthrough. You've always been great at playing these kinds of games. Thank you!
This has been a seriously incredible series dude, definitely my favourite on all of UA-cam and especially from your channel.
I didn’t end up playing Omori until around halfway through your original playthrough, but yours was a big motivator in finally pushing myself into it and making it my favourite game ever.
It’s sad to let the series finally go even if it’s necessary sooner or later, but this is something that I’ll always remember to rewatch. The game was amazing, your commentary was great, everything made this such a passionate playthrough.
Keep it up in the future dude, your channel and this series is something we’ll all keep dear to us.
By far, this is one of the best journeys I’ve been through with a video game. Omori has inspired and help me in so many ways that I can’t express in words, and the fact that Merg is the person that I’ve watched through this whole game, the one that I’ve shared memories with in this game, makes me feel happy that I found your channel and watched it grow. Merg, thank you so much for creating memories and building my life, I owe you so much and I can’t wait for more content in the future :)
I've been accompanying this series since the beginning and I'm sad it's finally over, but boy what a good playthrough! You're the only let's player that could actually do this game justice to someone who isn't playing for themselves, that's how good it was (I actually did not play hikikomori myself so this second part of the playthrough was completely new to me!). You take the game a lot more seriously than others when it comes to story and exploring all the content and it makes it a joy to watch. It is a let's play I will for sure come back to rewatch multiple times. I will never forget that moment in deep well when the german counting started and it freaked you out, one of my favorite moments in any let's play ever. Thanks for playing, Merg! 1 million is close :)
That moment when you realize "Omori's Unusual Escapades" is a synonym for "Omori's Bizarre Adventure"
I'm busy a whole week and cannot watch this video when it came out. But now, I'm glad it over with impact to some people. I watching this series with merg and other views.
Thank you for introducing me to my new favorite game such a trip of emotions it feels sad for it to end but i am glad OMOcat and team made a splendiferous game for everyone to enjoy! You deserve 1 million subs and more!
god. what a beautiful game. beautiful, beautiful, beautiful game. i don't think this story could be expressed in any way better than this. i had a similar thing to you, where this is the only game, only piece of media, to make me cry. not just that, but cry any time i think of that ending music. the climactic moments just keep coming back to me, months later. I still can't watch the final duet without tearing up. God, what a beautiful game.
Ending on that song is so powerful, and it's perfect for ending this series. OMORI's main song is like the Mona Lisa. When you first hear the song, you hear a development of a question. It has mysterious sadness, but a resolution of sweetness. The conflicts between the melodic modes makes you wonder what it's about. You don't know why it's bitter, but you know it's intriguing. Why is it so sad? Why is it so satisfying? However, when you're hit with the truth and you hear time after time as the creators beautifully compose each arrangement, you can't help but smile with a little pain and depression. It's as if the sky rained and poured and formed a rainbow. Something so horrible, so terrifying has led to the realization of something so beautiful. And this song is the embodiment of that rainbow-that sunshine reflecting over the miseries of Sunny's past giving us tears in our eyes and smiles in our hearts; and, of course, a complete understanding that the sun really did shine brighter when she was here. Without this song, I would feel as the game would have been missing something critical and important-that bow tie on top. Ending on it now feels like the perfect wrap up. No words need to be said. Nothing needs to be uttered. We can sit in silence and listen and know everything that this game stands for without saying a word. 1:04:09
Merg, thank you for introducing me to this series. It's been a wild ride, but my favorite ride out of the many games I have played. Every hour watching it has been worth it. 10/10
Wow, it's actually over. Not gonna lie the end with you reminiscing, I was right alongside you...only difference was that I cried my eyes out while doing so. What an amazing game and what an amazing playthrough of it.
Truly the best cherry ever🍒🍒🍒
I remember seeing your first video so excited that you were playing this game. And I’ve been here all the way through. And I’m glad that we all went on this journey of a game with you.
It’s so weird that this is (possibly) the last part of the series. This has to be the most thorough and entertaining playthrough I’ve seen and Im definitely gonna recommend it to anyone who wants a complete playthrough.
There might be new content with the console releases since I think there were some leaks a few months ago going around? Not sure if they’re real or just unused content they accidentally left in some files, but if they’re real and supposed to be new content then we’re definitely in for a treat
I don’t remember if you did this, but if you recycle a lot of things (50 according to the wiki lmao) in headspace you can get an item that can be used on a few of the TVs around Headspace which is cool. Not sure if there’s any unseen content but it’s still fun to see that it’s possible. Pretty sure they can be accessed in the Omori route/after Humphrey.
can't wait for your gameplay of the basil route
It's another surprise binge watch for you, Merg! I didn't comment much last time. Well, despite how the endings in this route feel the same from the other two unsatisfying endings, it's nice to see how you play all the way through.
This is a certified hikikomori moment.
Amazing gameplay, commentary and everything really. This has been the series I watched for the past few weeks, and honestly it gave me a lot of enjoyment. I don't think I can thank you enough for playing this game, but I will still say thanks. I hope to see you go through the new content soon. Cheers
Edit: Oh my Kel- I wasn't expecting this to turn out this long- I'm very sorry if this is a chore to read, feel free to skip it 🙏
Man, oh man what a ride that was, for sure.
Not gonna lie, I too honestly heard about this game a few times and how crazy it could get, but it didn't interest me that much at first, nor did I guess it could get *this intense.*
I was starting to get interested in it after hearing someone mention a similarity between Omori and Yume Nikki (which, by the way, is still one of the favourite games of mine, which I strongly recommend you to play Merg -even though I said this before-), and right after that I realized you started playing it. Oh boy, weren't I the happiest one on Earth, what could be better than seeing such a game from your favourite UA-camr?
I always loved watching your gameplays, for years or so, especially the ones like OneShot, Celeste, Hollow Kinght, The Stanley Parable, and many more. It was always so great to experience these games with you, no matter if it was my first time seeing them or not. I loved how I almost always agreed to your opinions and comments, and Omori was nothing different for that. Even though I was almost all the time a silent viewer who didn't comment much, waiting for every episode and proceeding slowly with you was great.
And I again agree with your opinions on Omori. It's probably not my favourite game, honestly. I did consider it a few times, but nah. I know I will be repeating you but yes it definitely was not perfect, and I could point a few stuff that felt off with me here and there, but it seriously did what it was trying to do very well. I would consider it _one of my favourites,_ but definitely not "the" favourite. But damn, holy moly cherry damn, that story was *INSANE.* About the crying/tearing up part... Well, I'll be honest, I too did tear up a few times with some stuff. But those were for the stuff that had just purely-well-written-emotional-drama kind of things, you know? I neither cried nor teared up with Omori, interestingly enough. But rather, this thing happens with me sometimes; you know how sometimes the thing you see is great and you just get so amazed that your mind goes numb? It's exactly what happened to me with Omori. Seeing first the Basil kill, the truth, the Omori fight and all that else; after seeing all that my mind did go numb. There sure were some medias that also did this, but this time it was something else. With Omori I went completely numb. It really took me the whole night to process all of that episode. I was so amazed, so shocked, so hooked to see how well-written that whole story was. You did well right there lol, I wouldn't even be able to speak a word. Despite all, just as you said, I definitely agree that it was the best story I have ever seen in any media. And it was so great to experience it all with you Merg. I'm honestly glad I didn't play it myself or watched another gameplay, seeing it with you was more than worth it.
Now before this unintended essay gets too long -which I am sure no one will read anyway- this was a huge ride cherry man! Phew! I love how you try to see everything 100% yet again. I'm not a well-knowing person about this game, so I can't say for sure, but you definitely did more than enough! Congratulations!! Hope to see you back in more games! Have good one, Merg!
Oh but, before I forget, here is some recommended games:
Yume Nikki (Yes I won't stop saying this)
Daniel Mullins' games (Pony Island, The Hex, and Inscryption; in a recommended order)
Mother series (Mother 1, Earthbound (a.k.a. Mother 2), Mother 3)
LISA: The Painful (I mean... You played Omori, right? Why not)
Ace Attorney (oh come on, don't blame me for wanting to see Merg yelling "Objection!")
OFF
The Binding of Isaac
Kindergarten
Reventure
Katana ZERO
These are the ones I could think of right now as of typing this, but honestly I don't mind whatever you would end up playing! Just have fun!
never thought id hear merg say what is essentially “we live in a society”
Damn. This was a wild ride 🥲 I gotta thank you for this series though, because I used your episodes to find the secrets I missed 😅 I'm really gonna miss this series.
I actually started watching Merg for his undertale videos, but seeing him post lots of videos about Omori made me want to try this game too. Thanks to him I became familiar with it. I started playing recently so i cant really watch this video now because of spoilers, but it still made me sad that this is the end. However I’m glad all these videos inspired me to play the game myself. Keep up the good work Merg :D
i'm so very glad you introduced me to this magnificent game
the sheer unadultered joy when a 2 hour merg omori video popped in my recomendations every two days...
great times, i will miss this, thank you merg
What a journey. I experience emotions for the first time in a couple of years after I almost lost any sense of sympathy. And those last 4 minutes, the way you talked about this wonderful experience, it actually made me tear up again. I never thought I'd see my tears again.
Thank you Merg. Maybe you were just having fun, but to me, you restored my emotions, and made me feel again.
Thank you for a wonderful series, Merg. I got started on a different LP of this game near its release date, but I think I recommended it to you at some point then because I knew you would fall in love with it too. I'm so glad you have enjoyed it as much as we have enjoyed watching it. Look forward to whatever you try out next :)
I like how the Omori series end at the best date. It’s been a emotional journey and all must come to an end. Thank you for introducing this game to me and I will surely miss it.
One of the best series I have ever seen. The range of emotions I had during every episode were like riding a rollercoaster. And the reactions + commentary were god-tier as always Merg! I'm glad to be subscribed, OMORI was awesome! Cheers for a great game and great series! 🍒
Don't think there could be a better ending. Thank you for such a great series man, was always excited to see a new episode of this series pop up. Looking forward to what's coming next!
Ahh.... here we are. It is the end. This game has been an experience. Watching you and Maxy/Sunny/Omori going on has been an incredible journey. I don't have much of an opinion on the hikkikomori route due to me not enjoying much of the creepy aspect of it yet it has been amazing watching this play through of yours. I've already stated my thoughts on the "main" route on the episode about the end of that route. This game is just indescribably beautiful and sweet yet so dark and creepy. The story is just so dark yet still amazingly wholesome. This game just shows how some simple actions can turn into a nightmare. It shows very strongly part of the human psyche and the how someone might go about PTsD. I want to say more but I don't want people to read an entire novel so I just wanna say this has been an incredible adventure we all went together on. Thank you to all that took the time reading this comment.
gosh i can't believe it's really the end, after all this time. this has by far been one of my favorite playthroughs ive ever seen, thank you so much for all of the time you've put into this for us! this is truly one of my favorite games ever, and i definitely agree with you on how this is one of the best stories you can experience of any media, this is also one of the only stories to have ever made me cry, and multiple times at that!! thank you for taking us all on this year long ride, its truly been something special :') take care everyone!! it may be over, but we'll always have the memories and lessons learned from this masterpiece of a game :] 💗💗 thank you merg one last time for this, it's been wonderful
Black Space 2 on Sunny Route can be considered the ultimate secret of the game, the amount of hoops you have to go through just to find more questions.
