Sorry, but I found this video to be pretty useless. It shows how to measure and cut (for 7 long minutes) but never how to actually hem. Is it pressed and whipped, or overcast or ????
Just curious why you are "hemming" it all the way around & cutting off of the train area. Why not hem the front and then taper down to nothing at the side/side back area?
I am hemming a dress this week… two layers main fabric, 3 layers tulle. I’m fine with hemming all around, but the bride wants to keep the train, and I need to hem the front about 5 inches. Any recommendations on blending the front hem to the sides? Where do you suggest beginning to taper?? Should I hem to the side seams, then taper?? Or hem about 10” across the front, then taper to the sides?? The shaping of the dress actually looks very similar to the dress in your video. I would appreciate any help if you are willing to respond!!
Hi! Thank you for watching. I would suggest placing the dress on a dress form, and starting marking from the front starting at 5 inches gradually to the side seam bringing it to 0. You should not cut beyond the side seam as you need to save the train. When you finish marking pin the dress and see how it looks ,make proper adjustments if needed. Let us know how it went. Hope this helps for future projects.

She says in the video they ask the bride whether they want it the same length all the way round or tapered etc. so it’ll be what the bride asked for

Shkurtimi i bishtit te fustanit eshte preference e nuses. Se shpejti videot anglisht do jene edhe me titra /perkthim qe te kuptohen me mire.
