This is a good movie. Enjoyed your review, its a cross between Donnie Brasco and a really old movie [that if you haven't seen] you should check it out: Prince of the City.
I think so the time lapse where J Reid was teaching at the academy are farther in the future long after the big bust of God. The time lapse after he is almost robbed, he lays low for months. God tells him that was real smart staying out of sight till the heat died down
No offense because most people don't know about this movie in general. But for 2 white guys to know about "In to Deep". You got a fan in me now lol. I agree a lot of what yall said. But yall missed the point of God "not addressing" the snitch allegations. Nothing needed to be said. He showed him exactly what would happen if someone crosses him, example pool stick up the butt and death lol. Actions are wayyyy more powerful than words.
GOD told Sticky and the dude to shake him down and see how he reacts. You never know with GOD. All it shows is him telling his crew to put them on him and test him before any business with GOD. Three things: either COP, OPP or A Soldier.
@@KisstheReviews For instance, paying sharp attention to dialogue cues will help in things making more sense. When the "Dwayne Givens" character said "did your man "J. Reid " murder this clown or whatever, it was a test. The guys vouched for him . "Givens" asked how do they know he was fronting, being a fake. They assured him by Reid's character and his reaction , persisting to kill this guy . So his cover is being established right there regardless of time. Now just to be sure, Givens sends a second test. This is where Reid shoots one of the Ozzy and Gash characters. Reid said to Preston he had to show that he could handle himself and nobody else could do what he could do creating that cover. Reid confronts Hill Harper's character really just reporting to him saying " hey, I'm the real deal". That's what those guys get screwing with J. Reid. Establishing street credibility in this cover regardless of the amount of time. When Reid gets back to Givens , his cover is there. Givens brings up the situation he handled which meets his approval because he's still in business with him. At the club, all Givens has is hearsay about this Reid person that seems to be the real deal. But Givens went the route of " well I'm just going to show this guy something, just in case." Now Givens didn't have to be direct with his point. It was subtle with saying " Sup or what's up J. Reid?" Just letting him know what time it is . What he'll do to his closest friend just for stepping, I guess trying to talk or hit on his child's mother. So Givens doesn't know or not he's a cop but for Reid's sake , better not be. When you cross Givens, there's the example. Next scene, Pam Grier's character says Reid is becoming like what they're trying to throw down. The character that told Preston to leave Reid alone, he said nobody will ever get in this far again, that's why Givens trusts and believes Reid by behaving not cop like, not following the expected procedures undercover. So the film goes the lengths of pointing out Givens buying Reid's story.
Everything you said is correct however, there seems to be a misunderstanding. We are a comedy show. Due to that, we will ignore or possibly even misrepresent the true intention of a scene for the sake of a joke. If you’re looking for a film school breakdown, we aren’t the show for you. We are here to make you laugh first and foremost and do not take a single movie seriously. Appreciate you, sir.
You don’t get undercover assignments fresh out of the academy. There is usually about 4-6 months of extra training under a veteran officer out in the field.I know this because I went thru an academy.
Just because they did not show you that part on the movie does not mean he did not go through that. You may have seen the end result after the fact of him becoming an undercover.
We're obviously here because we like your dumb jokes too, guys. 700 subscribers is small, but mighty! Great job as always!
☺️ Thank you so much! Appreciate the comments!
In Too Deep is the hip hop/hood version of Donnie Brasco.

Makes sense!
I guess that " inspired by a true story" statement really stretched from the real deal of how things work.
