The track separated time stamps are a very nice addition ;) the amount of times I come back to this set with a track in my head, this will help learn which tracks are which :)
I CAN'T BELIEVE you recorded this set on 21st February 2021, the birth date of Ramesses II, which is the only one of two days of the year that the sun shines fully into the Abu Simbel temple and reaches the sanctuary, shining on the statues of Amun, Ra and Ramesses. What an insane birthday gift for Ramesses II. I already had the highest respect for you guys at Cercle, but this just topped it.
I mean, the little details are simply insane. At 52:44, during the little pause in the middle of Montserrat (ARTBAT Edit), the camera focuses on the statues inside the temple and then they call out "...Ramesses..." just before the beat hits again!! This is so F-ing cool!!
@@FredVonJoeckel well… just about. Ramesses’ date of birth of course has not changed and is 21st February, and you just about get this effect with the sun shining into the temple on this date. However, due to some minor errors in calculations when relocating the temples, the actual full effect now happens on the 22nd of February, one day later. The correct date would have been the 21st though.
@@jessenaylor I was going to ask why the sun didn't shine in, then. The angle of the shadows makes it abundantly clear that the sun isn't going to shine inside like described above. Still a great set, great location and overall great video.
Beautiful, I remember backpacking around Egypt in 1994 with my girlfriend (now wife) and travelling across the desert to Abu Simbel, rounding the corner and laying eyes on this facade was other worldy. We are now sitting here streaming this on our tv, Gin in hand, reminiscing about the good times, perfect.
These guys have mastered to create a bridge between alternative rock and melodic techno. Their music is hard to qualify, a mix of trippy rock in the likes of Pink Floyd with some techno/dark beats in-between, the whole thing with some very sensual voices. Hats off.
Really good indeed. If that tickles your fancy, also be sure to check out Nicolas Jaar's & Dave Harrington's project: DARKSIDE. You might already know it, but it fits your description perfectly. It never happened to me to watch an entire music performance on UA-cam without speeding up the video. I had the feeling I was watching a movie that completely hypnotized me. What makes it even more better, is the scene is in this world LOL! Can't wait to to go to one of these events and loose myself in the music and setting.
In the Mid 60's this whole temple was cut apart in massive blocks and moved to be reconstructed to this site you see today. The building of dams on the Nile would have submerged it under water at it original site since being built in the 12th century BC.
Absolutely. Unfortunately, many of the civilians (the vast majority of whom are Nubians) were displaced south by the construction and filling of the Aswan High Dam. Nubians had prior been living there in one form or another since Dynastic Egypt.
For other people´s information countries such as Spain, UK or Italy greatly helped the egyptian government with the construction and movement of the temples or pieces for which as a gift they received loads of egyptian antiques and even temples such as the temple of Debod in Madrid
To add, this great work project and the ethics and discussion around moving the site is what created the need for UNESCO the United Nations Heritage and Culture authority that oversees the protection and safeguarding of tangible and intangible heritage. Without this site being moved it may have taken many more years ofr UNESCO to form. This project is historic and has double meaning for those working in the heritage field.

I've also lived in Egypt for a whole month, I stayed in Cairo, got to visit the pyramids. Very nostalgic, especially the pyramid set they did in November, made me miss it very much. Egypt just feels so magical, even just walking up a road there, so mystical and as a Christian, I felt very close to GOD there. God Bless u all xx

@@zackarynaas1249 It's not. It's a whole different song. Looking for this since the "Rampa & &ME @ Mayan Warrior, Virtual Burning Man" Set... Need this gem! Has anyone an idea?

They are absolutely amazing
I’m in love in it
These guys have been on another level last several years. Happy to see the success and for them to share this gift alongside Cercle!
Discovered WhoMadeWho listening to a Rufus set, their song "Tell Me Are We" is amazing. Then heard their Mayan Warrior set ... keep on making amazing music!
You may also like a set called "No Captain" and other sets on Jko 88 please have a listen
OMG... I'd never heard of WhoMadeWho until 1 hour ago and now i'm absolutely in love with their sound and the way they play! Thank you for these beautiful sets you bring us Cercle - words cannot contain how much i love this 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Same happened to me 2 months ago, and until today I am listening to this every day.
Went to Egypt and visited the Abu Simbel temples last week after seeing this set! Insane!
This was by far one of the best Cercle performances I've seen today. Watched the whole thing from start to finish and these guys have such a strong vibe to their music you feel their energy throughout all of their tracks. At the end of the set when they sang the final outtro, it made me feel some type of way. The music, the location, the weather, their energy, I'm truly touched by this performance. As Tomas Barfod said, 1:32:56 . Bravo
I feel you bro, also from min 44:50 to 49, he is so relaxed enjoying the moment. Love your comment !
> by far
> one of the best
This literally got me out of Depression...Since I discovered this music , my days are way happier than ever ! Thank you Cercle, Wish to see you Live one Day .
I am totaly agree with you !!
Raelmente es para mi de los mejores sets que he visto, tiene una elección musical increíble y me hace sentir afortunado de estar vivo. Sigan así con esa selección de artistas y lugares tan inusuales. Saludos desde MX💌
Reminds me of a modern day version of "Pink Floyd at Pompeii" - just can't stop listening to Abu Simbel!!!!!
My exact same thought! similar vibe in the intro
hahah me3!!
Came here looking for this comment
Yanni at the acropolis !
"Pink Floyd at Pompeii" is just awesome
OMG - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are most definitely channelling some galactic Egyptian energy while playing this set.
God Bless WhoMadeWho and Cercle.
The gods looking over us and how weve evolved..what a better way to show off our civilisation! If you love rufus, you'll love this masterpiece.
These guys are awesome and the energy they bring when performing is unmatched. A must see live if you haven’t before
This and Ben Bohmer's set are certainly the go-to for every house party without a live DJ. Well done, guys... really beautiful.
exactly what we needed! 🏜
@keinemusik hoping that you will be invited someday! ✨🤙🛸
Almost two years and I can’t get enough of this set. It’s so good! I love it! ❤️

When techno intentionally touches pop. A feast for the ears of those who perceive thousands of sounds at the same time. Magnificent...
That dance move at 12:00 went down in history
getting tasered
lol I felt the same way...dude's getting his groove on!
his body becomes the music. watch Thom Yorke of Radio Head dance - so cool.
Iako oni nisu u potpunosti u mom stilu inače, ovaj set je fantazija i za prisjetiti se, kao nakratko svratit, bar 1 godišnje pa ga opet u jednom dahu preslušati... U nekoj prilici koja to pita.
❤️
Most mindblowing locations of any music channel in history. WOW.
This will be the most viewed video for Cercle!
Wow, what a masterpiece. Such a unique sound they have. Entransing, pure joy, and for me it is deeply spiritual too.. Certainly one of the best musical performance I have listened to. I want to experience the band live for sure. Thank you WhoMadeWho, Thank you Cercle

Sunday rolling in with wisdom and truth to thy name. Thank you lord.amen.
I don´t understand why only 483,046 views, this is the best thing I have seen since this year started, this is so mind blowingly good it should be viral by now
Now 2,3 M, this masterpiece deserves more and more
Everything about this set is amazing. The music, the outfits and how they perfectly contrast the sky, and the camera people are wearing tan coloured clothing to blend in with the background is just mind blowing. Everything was so beautifully thought out. Love this so much.
Yes, I think I'm meditating on this fact for few months now
And how much fun all 3 are having, those random smiles at each other....
"Remember to always look up and see that the sky is blue." So strong... :)
Why would someone give this a thumbs down? This is the kind of uplifting music we really need right now! Nice one Cercle, thank you for the music!
some people just REALLY hate sand 🤣
This is so delightful, so wonderful, so calming and still full of energy and potential. Thanks for all your effort, years of practice, sweats, tears. God bless you!
I am listening to this set over and over again. Whenever I am sad, mad or happy doesn't matter. Mind bolowing
Değil mi? Gerçekten de huzur verici.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Nobody really sings any more so it is most fascinating and capturing to see and hear these wonderfully artistic vocals complementing their music that so deeply reaches hidden corners of the soul. Thank you!
Cercle out here doing a public service for all of us during the pandemic. These sets are all outstanding, thanks for the hard work the team puts into them!
I listen to this BACK TO BACK and I’m immersed every time.
Who TF dislikes such a masterpiece?!
right, my thoughts exactly lmao..
For reals!
Hater, the say music on this place is haram
Who are the joyless 664 to thumbs down this? This is one of the most glorious things I've seen in ages. WmW is such a treasure; such a spectacular live band. Every time I see anything they've done I run to the studio absolutely brimming with inspiration. It's Who Made Who's world and I'm happy we get to live in it.
Who cares about the bollocks who dont like it 🙂 Lets just enjoy it every day!
This is the most fascinating sound I've heard from YEARS! thank you so much for your beautiful music 💎
Très très bon encore ! Bien joué l'équipe 🙌❤️
I've listened to the first 10 minutes of this about 100 times since Saturday.
No signs of slowing down.
I can only imagine how awesome it would be to play music in a place like that.
Just discovered this. Cannot believe my eyes and ears. Holy shit
