@@hybrid32494 I had "Pro Wrestling Illustrated" and "The Wrestler" magazines This was NWA AWA and then eventually WWF. My mom would buy one everytime I went to the dentist
I remember when that RC 10 came out. It was the fastest RC car that was out at the time. I had the Tamyia Grasshopper then and I was racing indoor carpet with it. I remember right after my Grasshopper I got the Hotshot. I thought that thing was the fastest until I got smoked by the RC10 at a race. I do remember it though even though I was only 11 years old.

Do you know that engine is a os .15 cv. If you like a better cooling head than the stock one an you have and old bad Pro .15 TRX, you can use the traxxas engine cooling head on the OS CV .15, it fit with no issue.
hey pal! I know it looks weird, but almost all the 2WD stadium trucks that have the battery in the back run the battery wire through the shock towers, that's just how the chassis setup is on these. If you want you could use some wire mesh insulation to protect the wires from rubbing, I usually do that on ESC's.
I just got one. It's got the black tub chassis just like that one. The only thing I don't like so far is the ball diff. Mine keeps coming loose making the brakes useless.
so i just went out and ran my truck for the first time, and my throttle sticks or something, the carb doesn’t appear to be sticking but it wont fully return to idle. and if i go full throttle it will stick around half throttle. my throttle return spring is like pathetically weak, can that be causing the problem? and i dont know what to use for after run, i dont have any after run oil at the moment but i do have traxxas air filter oil? i got it running and drove it around for a full tank, there was alot of sludge coming out of the engine but it seemed to just be clearish oil by the end of the tank.
hey man!! sorry it took me a while to write you back. For after run oil you can also use basic 3 in 1 oil from any Walmart or hardware store. Its just mineral oil, worst case scenario use WD-40 if nothing else is available. BTW your throttle should return back to idle even if you have no throttle return spring. The spring is just in case you loose power from the servo. Can you tell me which engine this is? because if its a rotary carb it could just be a loose throttle arm.
@@Sloppyjoe96 Yes, you've got a slide carb. Eitherway, your servo should return the carb to idle on it's own. Is your throttle trim too high? IT should be around the same area as your idle gap when you apply the brakes. I recommend you disconnect the throttle linkage and just one the slide carb in and out, see if there is any binding to begin with. Let me know.
hybrid32494 i played around with the throttle adjustment and im pretty sure its correct at my servers full throw it hits full throttle without making struggling sounds, and at full brake it will pull the carb back to idle but it doesn’t pull on it past idle.. but if i dont use the brake the carb does not return to idle.. it wants to run at like 1/3rd open and if i goose it will only return back about half way.. but the carb slides with no resistance by finger..
@@Sloppyjoe96 ok, next thing to check is your Linkage itself. Make sure there is not much space between the Throttle spring and the Collar on the throttle linkage. When you move the throttle servo make sure that is directly translated into carb opening and closing. If your collar is loose or not correctly set it will create exactly what your describing, Let me know.

RC magazines, I remember my old wrestling magazines
dude! you had wrestling mags? I didn't know those were around, nice!! I may buy some on eBay just to show in a video one day. Was it some specific magazine name? or just WWF memorabilia?
@@hybrid32494 I had "Pro Wrestling Illustrated" and "The Wrestler" magazines This was NWA AWA and then eventually WWF. My mom would buy one everytime I went to the dentist
I remember when that RC 10 came out. It was the fastest RC car that was out at the time. I had the Tamyia Grasshopper then and I was racing indoor carpet with it. I remember right after my Grasshopper I got the Hotshot. I thought that thing was the fastest until I got smoked by the RC10 at a race. I do remember it though even though I was only 11 years old.
bro!! awesome story, thanks so much for this comment. It confirms my point on the original RC10 versus Tamiyas at the time. I'd say the chassis is still race worthy today, even if it ran modern brushless electronics and maybe some wheel upgrades. I'm currently knee deep in nitro engine parts, removing the backplate now, new video will be out tomorrow.
@@hybrid32494 awesome cant wait. Yeah man you also have to remember back then to not everyone had those cars. They were quite expensive for that time period. But if you had one. I do remember you were LEET. lol
@@cbrwix good point, I have to point out the prices of these things back then. I could do a Time Value of Money conversion. plus it was all kits back then, so you needed many extra parts.
@@hybrid32494 Absolutely correct. When you add monetary value for an item of its time I think it enhances your true capture of your video and keeps the viewers interested. This way they can see an item of its time and its true value.
Hey bro! I see you got a kyosho inferno behind you! I hope we're going to see an unboxing and drive!
yup my dude!! That inferno is new in box also. I'd say when I run out of nitro rehab vids we will get in to that.
@@hybrid32494 noice👍👍
It's called a bathtub chassis brother
hey my dude, you're right. I forgot to mention this. you know how it is when you're talking, the facts just somehow slip away, lol.
@@hybrid32494 Yeah lol..I forget what to say all the time but I don't make many videos anymore..I did an unboxing the other day..I might upload it on the fact it was such a great deal
I have a ts4n from thunder tiger full aluminium but it’s very heavy
hey my dude!! I'd love to buy a tsn4 one day, the search never ends for rare nitros, lol. And yes, you're right about it being heavy with aluminum. I learned that the hard way years ago, lol.
Do you know that engine is a os .15 cv. If you like a better cooling head than the stock one an you have and old bad Pro .15 TRX, you can use the traxxas engine cooling head on the OS CV .15, it fit with no issue.
Only one issue...can you tell me the original wire from battery pack to receiver? On look right going over the rear suspension
Can you tell me which engine this is? because if its a rotary carb it could just be a loose throttle arm.
hybrid32494 its a ofna picco max .26 on a traxxas slayer, i think they call it a slide carb
Been looking at some AE parts and accessories on Team Associated website. Just to look for my Shelf queen RC10T and there nothing. Just some transmission parts.
JCconcepts has alot of Vintage AE parts so if need some check with them.
Team losi and team associated were both made in USA and use fractional tools. The early models anyway.
I have an Rc 10 gt with a old school team pit stop chain drive transmission I want to run it but I'm afraid the chain will eventually break...looking for an extra chain with no luck.(2wd) flat black team energy chassis.
hey man! Welcome to the the NitroGang! I've never seen on old school chain drive model. I've been looking for an early vintage nitro like that myself. Nice job!!
@@hybrid32494 thanks bro I live in central Chicago not many rc buddies around Im doing it solo dolo..NG stand up!!!🚘 keep up the great work.get in touch for pics.
I like you and kt gang i think both have misjudged each and should do a collab
Please
hey man!! thank you for watching. I offered to do a debate at the end of this video. so far no response for him. That's my version of a Collab.
I am sure it is nothing personal often those who first clash become even better friends how many nitro RCs do you think you have?
I got a duratrax evader nitro st from an old guy but the engine is busted(broke the connecting rod). And there's no hobby shop on the island so its now a shelf queen
I've been hunting down a nice shape Duratrax ever nitro, I have a soft spot for the 2WD stadium trucks from that era. I know exactly the one you got, I used to have the electric pro version of it. (that was a bad idea). your best bet would be to just get a new cheap nitro engine, even any redcat .18 would be good in that.
@@hybrid32494 I've got an exceed/red cat .18 in my rally monster and personally I just prefer the duratrax build.18 it ran so much better with no bearing leaks etc unlike the vx/cx engine. I live on a very tiny Caribbean island with absolutely no rc support so I gotta make good choices whenever I am making purchases cause it costs me almost 3 times the original cost to acquire .
Firsst to comment the vid
Confirmed my dude!! You #1. Yess!!!
hybrid32494 i love your content keep on going
Hey hybrid maybe one day you could initiate me into the nitro gang and sell me a good entry level nitro truck? Keep me in mind if you ever wanna baptize me with a good deal on a nitro truck!
You're already a lifetime member of the nitro gang because you've seen so many nitro videos, lol. The problem with all my nitro truck is they are pretty much borderline broken, lol.. Thats why I get good deals on them to begin with. Its always something. Only my T-maxx and revo are optimal at this point. We gonna get you something bro!!
@@hybrid32494 Thanks my brotha! Yeah I'm getting one this spring and I'm definitely gonna consult you first! Maybe you can spot a good deal for me! 👌. This spring I'm getting my first nitro and gas (rovan baja buggy) since I like yours so much! 😁👊👍👍
what type of wheels and tires and wheels, where can I get them?
Also curious, looks like stock front axles, and those bearing wheels are tough to find.
Hey can you do a review of the Arrma typhon 6s 2019
hey bro!! please don't make me get another arrma, LOL. if I can get it cheap I would, but they are just too much money for an electric RC for me. I'm only sponsored by 1994 Team associated and 1997 HPI, so i'm poor, LOL> JK.
Where do you find these gems?.......✌🏾
hey man!! This truck isn't mine unfortunately. I have to return this to the owner, I'm fixing it as a favor for the the Thunder Tiger Tomahawk, the guy gave me that one. I'm happy to work on this one.
Be careful cuz those are also standard screws in inches not millimetres!
YUP, good point. Can you believe those tiny 1.5 mm engine screws tho. OMG. Who thought that was a good idea. Whats weird is the screw threads themselves are pretty normal machine screws, but why did they use side tiny hardware, LOL.
@@hybrid32494 that's one thing I hate about it is the fact that all the screws are so tiny maybe to save weight I'm not exactly sure
somebody gotta ask the factory racing team that question, ahaha.
hey hybrid what would you recommend for a 1/8th scale nitro truggy? love the vintage nitro videos!
whats up my dude!! This is a tough choice, are you looking for new or used? Pretty much every OFNA truck ever made that's used has been a truggy, lol. We gotta narrow the field down, lol.
You're right i should have been more specific im looking at a new losi eight t rtr for 400 bucks and it seems to be the best bang for the buck of the new truggies. i would definitely consider an ofna if i could find one that isnt an overpriced roller
You need SAE hex driver set
I see you're using metric all those screws should be standard
hey man! thats for checking out this video!! yes, you're correct, the original screws are SAE. I dont own a set of SAE screws currently and had to use metric.
I also own a "Problem Solver," whoever named it the "Dremel" should be fired.
ahahah, good one! I like that. You 100% right my dude!! thanks for watching. Are you new to my channel? If so, welcome!! Glad to have you here. my newer vids r awesome too.
@@hybrid32494 yea man I'm just tuning in. I have an old rc10gt and for many years it sat on a shelf. I got the bug again and have been bringing it back to life. I like your channel and I appreciate the work you're doing, keep it up!!
@@jackkramer1553 glad to have you here. I have started an informal group called the Nitrogang, so welcome to the gang. Only guys with nitros are allowed. Nothing like restoring an old rc and reliving our old memories, right!!
Lol that losi tenacity still sitting in the box behind you! Sell that thing hybrid! That thing is begging to be played with! Sell it to a good home lol.
bro!! I have been thinking of selling it for the whole past year. You are 100% right. I'm just not into driving it at all. There is no nitro engine on this thing!!!!! UGHh!!
@@hybrid32494 Its gotta go! Get it outta there!!! Lol. A good sign that a rc isn't meant for you if it sits in the box for months! Lol I know from personal experience! I got a losi rock rey I bought on black friday sale and I regretted it right when i got home! It's been sitting in the box and now I'm trying to sell it!! 🤬😡😂 On a side note I just bought the arrma Mojave! It looks like a beast! Can't wait for it to arrive! I'll let you know how it is. I'm getting a nitro or gas asap! Maybe a rovan!
@@cwatson42785 congrats on the Arrma Mojave, I just checked it out at tower hobbies. Good package and price. I'd say more appealing than the fake 1/5 arrma Kraton which costs more. And it seems this whole rock racer deal like your Loss rock Rey is beginning to die off, what do you think?
Great video mate I do think 80s and 90s RC cars look better I had a HPI Evo Rush it was very good 38mph then I had a schmacher rascal 1.16th with a 18 nitro engine and a 2speed garbox bloody hell fast 50 mph and now lve hit 67mph with my ruslur vxl mad speed stock gearing on grass
whats up my vintage nitro gang member!! You definitely had some cool nitros, especially from names Schumacher. I almost just baught a Schumacher Nitro Menace on eBay, but lost that auction.
Maybe next time you will find one and if you do the speed is addictive
Hi MR SICKENING dude i follow you on fb nitro Gang and like yout vids could you tell me what kind of pull start I need for a rc10 gt I just bougth it along with a monster gt 8.0 pretty sickening keeping nitro live thanks
