The first time that I heard YOUR song, I cried. I cried as a black woman feeling your tears and pain as a black woman reminiscing about seeing my own brother on the ground being held down by two white policemen. I cried as a black woman who knows that any day could be my last at the hand of an overzealous man or woman with a hidden agenda because he / she may not like the color of my skin. I cried as a woman who struggles to take care of all of those around me who are in need, while struggling to keep myself holding onto the Lord in the midst of life's storm. I cried as a Christian woman...not from pain...but from joy that one day I won't have to endure this type of pain much longer...but that I'm gone be saved. Hallelujah! To God be all the Glory!
